Hi Yadirf,
Wake up, Nemesis was the one who posted in the wrong thread. He wasn't the one who did such a well written exposure of the GB. That was Richie.

Whats the truth about 1914?
by Leander ini've heard on a few occasions from my research on the internet that 1914 really does not have the significance that wtbs assigns to it.
from my limited understanding on the matter it involves the wtbs moving the date of the destruction of jerusalem.. can someone give me a little more detail on this or provide a link with a website that does?.
if its true that the wts has manipulated historical dates and bible scriptures to support this date of 1914 then that would mean everything else crumbles.. thanks for any info on this

Hi YK,
I just don't see any evidence of anything happening since 1914 that makes the end of this world more close than any other period. God is the one who was to bring the end at a set time, so why would anything secular make any difference to this set time? Since Christ said no one knew the day or hour, does that mean we could know the year?

The 144,000 must all be selected FIRST!
by Yadirf inthe 144,000 must all be selected first!
in another thread, entitled the ransom paid, its author raised a most important question -- a question that surely every person ought to be determined to know the answer to.
im posting this also as a reply in that thread, but i feel that its such an important issue that the answer (as i see it) be given the widest publicity possible here on this forum.

HI Yadirf,
Why do you think the 144,000 number is a literal number? If that is a literal number then why isn't the tribes that they come from literal too? If only 72 a year from Christ time to now was needed to make 144,000, why are there 8000 still alive according to the WT? If women are in that group of the faithful and discrete slave, why
haven't any ever been on the GB? Do they have less of God's holy spirit than men? My grandma was of this group and she was better at playing checkers than any other activity that I can remember. When all the chosen ones have died and the end hasn't come, what will be your answer then?

Women Today Are Ugly
by TMS ina few weakminded postates have posted pictures on this board of modern women they deemed beautiful.
huh!
if these folk were better grounded in the truth, they would know that since creation female beauty has greatly deteriorated.

Hi,
I went shopping and dinner with my wife and daughter yesterday and I was looking at them and thought, damn what a lucky SOB I am to have such a beautiful family. My wife is 60 but looks 45 and my daughter is beautiful also. Of course I'm prejudiced.

Why the JW won't 'confess their sins..'
by LDH inwell, richie's post on his memorial experience got me to thinking about the practice of "confessing sins" and how little jws are able to take advantage of it.. in what they term "worldly chruches," people go frequently to confess their sins.
their priest or womever offers them "absolution" and they are free to go on their merry little way and commit more sins.. now the jw will call that hypocrisy but i see it the exact other way.. according to the bible there 'is nothing new under the sun,' therefore, why should jws be afraid to confess their sins to the ones looking out for their spiritual well being?
why are they not allowed to say "brothers i've sinned again.

Never watched it. I always end up watching some Discover episode or TLC or Fox news. Never watch any sitcoms, except maybe "Archie Bunker" or "All in the Family".

Well, after thinking about it for a while I decided that I wouldn't go, it might start them comming by again and I just don't want to be bothered. I never missed one for 60 years, I think that was enough. I used to drink the wine after the ceremony because most of the time I bought it when I was the PO. I'll just have a Bud tonight.
