For those who like motorcycles. This is my Dad in the early 30s. It's an old Harley or Indian, I forget which, but I think Harley. He enjoyed life and also flew an airplane.

Hi All,
When I was a little boy this is what we did at the assemblys to advertise the Sunday talk. This was at Richmond Va. I'm on the left, my cousin is in the center, and my brother in on the right. We passed out handbills. Remember the talk."Peace Can It Last"? We walked down the street, can you imagine how we felt at that age?

there are so many treasures over there.. i hadn't seen this one before, but it's one of the funniest songs/animations i've ever seen.

You know Farkel, that just might work!!

i just went to my old church's website and found out what they're up to.. when i was there, the midweek home bible studies were called cottage meetings, then home groups.
you studied pretty well what the study leader had on his (or her) mind at the time.
the church growth movement of the late 80s and 90s has changed all that.
Wonder why the love thing had to wait for thousands of years before God thought up the idea. Before that the law of Moses was just a set of rules to follow. You could and was instructed to kill others who didn't agree with this law, without forgiveness or love shown. Maybe God liked it so much he is bringing it back by the WT Borg.

i really hate thunder storms, must admit.
i try not to hide in my basement anymore though, shuddering in a corner, reading a book by flashlight waiting for them to pass.
unplugging all electrical applicances, telephone outlets, like a mad woman... looks like we're gonna get one tonight, it's getting closer to us, as per weather.com.
Hi BB,
My youngest daughter is afraid of lightening and spiders also. One afternoon my wife and her drove in the driveway and got out of the car about the same time that a bolt of lightening hit a big oak tree in the yard about 30 ft. from them. It split the tree and threw pieces across the road. It also blew out the TV, oven, and furnance and vaporized all the wire in the telephone line to the street and down the side of the house leaving a burn mark down the side of the house. My other daughter was on the phone, it didn't hurt her but she felt like it burnt her face.
Talking about spiders, one morning right before I was to get up I heard my daughter screaming in the other bed room, I thought someone had got in the house, I started to get my 45 but it was in the closet and I didn't want to take the time to get it, I would get them with my bare hands, so I ran in there and it was only a spider on the ceiling over her bed. I had to laugh at that one.
I love to sit on the porch and watch a thunder storm.

Hi TJ,
I received the same email and I very seldom forward one, but I sent this one to a freind. It had a very good subject line. I liked it too.

does anyone ever get a strange warm prickly sensation travelling all over their skin when thinking about a dream or something which happened?
i just did while thinking about my dream i had about heaven last night.. .
weird that.
Weird stuff! Sometimes I wonder how we can tell if something we recall is real or imagined. Since everything we experience is recorded in our mind by some process of chemical, electrical or whatever, how can we know if it was real or not?
Recently I have recalled things that I really have to analyze to figure out if it really happened or was it a dream. The other day I recalled being at an assembly, it seemed so real but after thinking about the things that happened I realized it was a dream I had some time in the past. There are some parts of it that I think may have happened and was included in the dream. Is this part of Alhemizers? I didn't remember having this dream so I guess it was just there and my mind just happened to hit on this particular area?
Are these experiences of the forum members here just chemical, electrical problems in the brain or something else? It's strange to realize our whole life is just some chemical, electrical impulses in our head!!

the other day i was with a friend going to get some ice cream.
i was in the mood for the basics, so when i was asked what ice cream flavor i liked, i answered "vanilla.
" to be honest i have always liked vanilla, so i figured that sounded good.
Hi Ken,
That's a very good question. I guess the answer depends on your convictions of religion. If you really believed that they would die unless they accepted your view of God, then you wouldn't be carring if you didn't try to convince them you had the truth. On the other hand if you were wrong then you would be hurting them.
My life as a JW was kind of strange by todays standards of the borg. My best friend from childhood to past my teenage years was not a JW. We were together everyday except Sundays when I went to the KH and he went to the Moravian church. We never let religion stand between our love and friendship for each other. We are still good friends and have respect for each others views on things. One of his children became a minister. He asked me a few years ago if I still went to the KH and when I said no he encouraged me to go back, thinking I needed a relationship with God.
I also had one of the people I studied with who became a Jw to approach me in the grocery store and said she and her husband wanted to thank me for helping them become a JW. He is now an elder and their two children are JWs. They seem happy to be where they are in life. I didn't realy know how to answer that comment so I kind of changed the subject.
So I guess some like the JW life and some don't. I really can't complain about my life as a JW, I really enjoyed my childhood and the love I enjoyed from my family(I'm crying as I think of my dad and mother and the great life I had with them,he died when I was 18 and my mother died before I had my children, I don't know why it hit me like that.) This was back in the 40s, and early 50s. I think the borg has changed since then as I never knew of a single disfellowshiping in those days.
I've been in a strange mood lately and things of the past that I recall make me feel sad as most of the ones I grew up with are dead now. I've got to get over this mood before it overshadows my optimistic nature.

If God wanted us all in heaven why did he put us on earth in the first place? If he likes righteous people why did he make us all be born sinners? If God is so interested in us being good why did he allow a devil and demons to harass us? I don't understand why animals are punished with desease and death if sin is the cause of this in humans? None of this makes sense to me.
