my two sisters did the right thing, pioneering straight out of school, janitoring to pay for the petrol (one didn't even bother with her final year of school).
it was this kind of fine example that got me guilt-tripped into auxiliary pioneering just after getting baptised at age 20. i only lasted six months; i took a holiday in queensland and returned not knowing much more about life but at least that it's bigger than my little congregation.
i despised the field service, i dreaded the daily schedule and every morning i was on my way out there was this awful countdown from the alarm going off to the first door opening, knowing that it's just a big setup to another depressing humiliation.
I vacation pioneered when I had summer off at school for several years and full time pioneered (100 hrs. mth.) when I graduated for a year until my dad died. Had to go to work and support myself and my mom then, I felt relieved not having to pioneer. I sold my house and moved into a trailer, quit my job and tried to work part time and pioneer. This was after I had been married for several years. I didn't make it very long, less than a year and they hired me back at my old job.

there was no traffic, so i would finally get to work on time this week.
Never had an incident like that. I'm pretty laid back when I drive and I give in to most drivers and just like you, I attribute it to ignorance. I'm beginning to see my driving becomming a little tainted by my age, but I still drive better than the average driver. I don't drive too close to those ahead of me and don't take my eyes of the road. Never had an accident that was my falt in 54 years of driving.

an elder in my hall prefixes his sentences with this phrase: "its been said...", usually followed by some ridiculous bullshit; an example: "it's been said that mans greatest accomplishment has been the worldwide preaching work".
i guess all scientific and medical advances are secondary.
anyway, his last one was this: "it's been said that by reading the awake magazine one can get the eqivalent to a college education.
I learned what semi-monthly meant from the Awake. Also what before the end of this century didn't mean or did mean or something like that. My Awake education is kicking in now so I will have to shut up before I make a fool of myself.

it's the day that i am getting married!
i've waited 42 long years for this day and it's been well worth the wait!
although we cannot afford a big honeymoon, but we've been lucky to get 2 free nights at a local hotel, compliments by her cousin.
Tomorrow is my aniversary, 32 years. I hope your's works as well. August 10 seems to be a good day, have fun, you will never forget it, well maybe, I did last year.

my wife's family is driving me crazy.
two of her nephews borrowed money from us a few weeks ago and didn't pay us back and then tried to commit suicide because of problems with their wives.
they both take drugs and are not mature enough to live a normal life.

Two of my gradnkids are living with us now and are draining us dry. They just found jobs this week but are dependent on us for transportation and food etc. We are on SS and don't have money to give away. We have to use credit cards to help them. I hope we can endure it.

i have read many posts on here and on other websites from people who were brought up or became immersed in a particular religion or belief system, who later ,often because of bad experiences with their religion, went to the opposite extreme of not believing in god at all.
this often puzzles me because i wonder if people who reject a belief in god because of the hypocrisies they experienced in their former belief really are rejecting god or just a man-made organization which claims to be god's spokesman and has shown to be anything but.. i was raised in a presbyterian church which is about as traditional and conservative as you can get and my image of god was molded by that belief.
i saw the services and people there as dead basically.
Regardless of what we beleive we are all going down the road to a grave yard someday. Now what happens after that cannot be proven, it's just imagination. Enjoy the trip.

God could remove the evil of killing thousands of people from earth quakes, volcanoes, storms, mosquitoes etc. This has nothing to do with us chosing anything.
You said he suffered and died for us. Now why was that necessary since all he had to do was forgive us the sin of Adam.
I really don't want the freedom to kill and hurt others and I sure don't like them having the freedon to do that to me.

What gets me thinking is why did God make mankind and what did he expect from them. He made us to live a few years and then get sick and die from some disease or old age. He lets all sorts of disasters happen and expects us to love him when he could prevent it? It doesn't happen to just evil people but everyone is treated the same. I just don't see the reason for it all. It would be nice to have faith that you were special and God was going to be good to you but I just don't seem to be able to get an answer from him.
