Geeze listener what a way to live especially if you have a roommate that you can't stand. As far as big groups and Canada it's coming. There are huge huge dutch reforms who are not listening as well as the mennonites. There might not be any church but they are still having huge family get togethers on Sunday afternoons. We are behind but it will start to really elevate in a few weeks they figure. We are told by the government now that only five at the most in a group setting. Yet people are still holding funerals and having baby showers.

Why is the rate of CONVID-19 in Canada only 20-25% of the US ?
by RubaDub inany thoughts?
i would expect vancouver and toronto to be huge epicenters with the rate of international travel there.
with vancouver highly asian and toronto a mixture of everywhere, they are either just behind in the cycle or doing something that makes more sense than what is happening here.. rub a dub.

They should have shut down the borders a lot sooner and even now. Snow birds are allowed to still come over and are not heeding the warnings to self isolate. Their first stop is the big box stores. We are in eastern Ontario and ten minutes away from the US border. Cops having to tell the overnight campers in three huge box store parking lots to move on and they would move and then come back later.
I wish they would close the provinces down as well. Quebec isn't listening and are over here buying up our supplies as well as spreading this virus. You go to any box store here and look at the license plates, it's mostly Quebec license plates.
The Ottawa hospital has repeatedly said if your from Quebec please use your own hospitals and not ours since it's us the tax payers that pay for them here in Ontario. Their excuse for using our hospitals is the emerg wait time is at leas six hours less than theirs. Once they are seen here then if they need a specialist they get referred to someone here so then our wait time is going up. Yet these people from Quebec are the ones crying they want to be separate from the rest of us. Unless a hospital refers you to another hospital where there are more highly trained specialists then they should stay where they are. Ottawa said they can't keep up in emerg due to this problem with another province coming over and not being able to look after their own. Now two hours away Kingston hospital is having the same problem.
Rant over!!!

Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread
by Simon inthis topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.
latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.
the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

These snowbirds who were just twenty minutes away from me come and try to camp at our Walmart, Canadian Tire and Superstore parking lots. They were all full. No running water or hydro. Then they go shopping the following morning in the store without self isolating nor washing their hands. Then they clean the stores out of what everyone wants and take off. I won't even go there knowing that they were going there. The cops came and sent all of them away. But none of them are monitored and once over the border they do what ever the hell they want. Even touching the fresh produce without washing their hands. E coli is just as bad as this virus, put the two of them together. https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/outrage-as-snowbirds-flock-across-the-border-shop-and-refuse-to-self-isolate

Yes Cofty no argument their however how many people have non alcoholic fatty disease due to obesity or taking in too much fat? Lots. There's an entire floor just for those people in Toronto liver clinic. How many have Hepatitis C? or hepatitis A and B? In my case Cholangiocarcinoma. Many of these types of livers do not fully heal. Just wanting people to take this serious and not think it's no big deal. It is a big deal for those who pass it on to others who can die from this virus. It's not about the people who can bounce back nicely but those who can't. It starts with taking it serious period! This was just last weekend:https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/outrage-as-snowbirds-flock-across-the-border-shop-and-refuse-to-self-isolate

I don't think this virus is being taken serious enough with some. They hear they get the sniffles, fever, cough and a little hard breathing and they think that's it. Take a look at this and tell me this isn't serious when it attacks healthy livers. Trust me you don't want liver failure. It's hell or even part of your liver removed due to disease. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/langas/article/PIIS2468-1253(20)30057-1/fulltext

It's pretty bad when the military is called in to put people into lock down. They are not listening. China flew in some chinese doctors to Italy and they were appalled to see people walking around outside. They said that this virus will keep going on as long as people keep mingling so Italy called in the military to make the lock down happen. What a world!

Princess Margaret in Toronto called to say all scans and MRI's are rebooked for August. All surgeries unless life threatening are cancelled. However if you have done most of your chemo cycles and your cancer tumor has shrunk for surgery then too bad since those have also been cancelled until further date. My sympathy goes to those who have waited to hear the good news that they can now be operated on and now have to take a time out. My appointment for tomorrow's MRI was cancelled at Princess Margaret. On another note we have new borders who are renting our old farm house and could not afford the oil even though they said they could have not paid for the last oil bill or rent. And now with not being able to evict anyone is even harder. The only thing we can do is put the property up for sale and let them have a few month's free rent to find another place. When it rains it pours. -

Anna Marina I was thinking the same thing and how the elderly and widows are just a burden to some. But then I thought why wouldn't Trudeau get these ones that lost their jobs and get out there and help the elderly. If they don't show up to help, they don't get paid. At least the youth keeps moving. And for once the elderly get some respect!!
It saddens me to see some of these elderly ones work all their lives and then this happens. And if some die the government then gets what the elderly paid into all their lives. By the end of this all the government will still say they are in the red for a long long time.

Corona Virus - What a UK Virologist says!
by The Fall Guy inin an interview on the bbc yesterday, a virus expert laid it on the line:.
he basically said that until the vast majority of people have been infected (or eventually vaccinated) and are then immune from re-infection, the problem will not go away.
in other words, virtually all of us may be infected before a vaccine is delivered, thereby putting all of the at-risk elderly citizens in the uk in a really perilous position.

There's no proof that this virus won't reinfect a person twice. That part of the virus they don't know,

Over here we still have the US border open and would wish they close it as well. Our Cosco and Walmarts are sold out of canned goods, toilet paper, sanitizer, chicken, eggs, medicine ect . Big stores are finding that it's ones coming over from the States. Today I had found another pharmacy that had my meds and there were a lot of States license plates in the parking lot. They were right. One can only dream of a lock down everywhere. Today Kingston finally said they will be closing all tourism spots except for the fast food restaurants. The St Patty's Day party wasn't as big what the police thought it would be with the Queen's University but there were still the drunken idiots talking out their asses on TV,
