I feel for you ((Jesika)). Not much I can add to the wonderful comments you've already gotten but I would say that you should go visit the gravesite. It means something to YOU and YOU will feel better for it. As for what to say, don't fret about it. Just say what you feel at the moment or say nothing. Sometimes when I stop by my aunt & uncle's graves it's just for a few moments and nothing needs to be said but I feel better for having gone and maybe reliving a memory or two.

I refuse to lie to have a job!!!!!!
by Jesika income to find out, the things i was telling people about the products we were selling were lies.
i am not comfortable lying to people to sell a product.
i really don't like being lied to and then finding out later most everything i was told to do was bs.

Hi Jesika,
Several years ago I got hired for a job that sounds extremely similar to the one you found. I rode with two others and we were out in White Rock so I had no choice but to stick it out (one hell of a walk back to Irving!). One day is all they got from me as it became very obvious very quickly that it was a scam. But when you are desparate you give things a chance even if wary about it. All I can say is don't despair, the right job will come along and they will be glad to have you. I wish you all the best!

What's The STRANGEST Thing You've Seen At A Kingdom Hall?
by minimus ini saw a fight break out on the platform between an elder and a unbelieving husband who accused the elder of f---ing his wife.
he then threw the lectern on the floor and pushed the elder.
it was cool.......

These are great stories!
Most of my meeting / study attendance was years and years ago and being "strange" seemed quite normal back then.
Once saw the two elders in a small congregation arguing over the best way to roll up the vacuum cleaner cord. Seems that elder A always knew the best way to do absolutely everything and elder B was trying to stand his ground on this one! I stood there amazed as they were turning redder by the second and thought for sure that fists would fly but it didn't come to that. Obviously deeper problems there.

Voices in Head Not Demons? - WT Writers Have a Reasonable Moment?
by NeonMadman in.
i found this interesting - it's the questions from readers in the may 1, 2003 watchtower.
could it be that the boys in the writing department actually had a moment of reasonableness?.

Interesting. I've been meaning to post a thread asking if anyone here "hears voices" in their head or knows someone that does/has.
My ex-girlfriend used to say she often heard voices and had to stop and figure out if it was "the voices in her head" or her children talking to her. Since I had never run into that sort of thing and the way she would say it I didn't really know what to make of it. Anyway, having thought about it alot since we broke up I looked up "hearing voices" on Yahoo and virtually everything relates it to schizophrenia. I think I was denying the signals because I was too close to the situation (love being blind and all that) but it is true that she used to to be VERY heavily into drugs (some 15 yrs previous).
Hindsight being what it is I also can say that there were some paranoid episodes as well and her brother told me he believes she is manic-depressive. My real concern is for her kids and I am still in contact with her family occasionally and have been told that they worry about the kids too. There's nothing I can do that I know of but it still weighs on my mind.
So, any experiences out there? Is it the drug use (possibly current given her situation) or, though I never even gave the 'demonz' angle a thought, was it a result of always watching Joyce Meyers? <laughing softly>

(((Wildhorses))) Yep, it is a small world and I guess eventually all of "us" drift in and out of the same apostaspots. I've often thought of Life and wondered how she's doing. I was one scared puppy when I first went into her chatroom and it was a big step for me that turned out to be a big help. I enjoyed my time there but there comes a time to move on (mine was AOL raising prices again). It's good to run into familiar names here and I'm glad you inquired as to my identity :) When you chat with Life again please tell her Chinhair said hello.

hi wildhorses. I remember chatting with you there too Luv. As for me, well, I was called Chinhair in my past 'life'. hehe I'm sure I'm remembered (if at all) for my name and sensless humor rather than any insight proffered. Hey, we all got a part to play right?

If the volumes are no longer bound then they are free. If only the jws themselves were so lucky as to become unbound eh?

Difference of age
by JH inso many times in the jw, i saw couples getting married.
but what struck me so often was the difference in age between the man and wife.
often the man was 15-25 years older than the woman.

Ok then. I've been feeling so down for so long now but this thread has shown me the "light". I never knew of this 5:1 female to male ratio. Sure wasn't that way when I was attending KH's. But anyway, I know now that the thing to do is to head straight back for the nearest KH and find me a good looking semi-intelligent straggler/outsider of a sister to hook up with. Then, help her make her JW exit and she will be eternally grateful and we'll live happily... --- oh, sorry, I guess this should be posted under the JW Urban Legends thread ---
