  ah yes, i was rummaging around jack chick's website and couldn't help but realize how mr. chick knows just how to reach an audience.

  (www.chick.com) whether you stumble onto one of his well-crafted tracts in a dank bathroom stall at your local denny's or find them strewn about the parking lot at walmart, chick knows that people can't help but eagerly thumb through his charming life-saving pamphlets.. i couldn't help but wonder just how powerful the preaching effort would be if the watchtower employed some of mr. chick's winning tactics to reach the doomed populace.

  Thanksgiving For My Friends

  if some of you with no one to celebrate thanksgiving with, or perhaps just would like to get out after their meal, my door is always open.

  we make way too much food all the time and my dfw apostates are more than welcome to come on over.

  just pm me or give a call @ 214-521-5084. you are all more than welcome as i wouldn't want anyone spending thanksgiving by themselves.

  uuuugh, i feel like i have one foot in the grave right now.

  i am soooo miserably sick it is unbelievable.

  i really thought i was going to die yesterday, i had this horrible raspy cough and a super high fever, you know the kind that makes you feel as if you're moving under water?

  ((tink)) I know just how you feel. I got the head cold last friday and have a horrible *cough* still. Worse yet is that I have these three days off so I'm spending my vacation sick and unable to do anything except cough, sneeze and whine.

  i hope you all remember me...a few months back i wrote and said that my husband who is a jw...a very passive agressive jw...told me i was satan's minion and that my literature on the shelf had demons that were attacking his jw literature and he moved all of his literature to our bedroom floor.

  he also said that my activities online were going directly against jehovah and that it was destroying our marriage.

  being as we have three young kids, and he wasnt going to meetings much anyway...i decided it would be a small thing for me to give up my online persona and remove my literature to save the marriage.

  breaking-up sucks.

  i'm going back to clean my kitchen, waking up this morning gave me a straight-out attack of cleaning desire.

  i lost that desire, but since my entire kitchen is covered in cleaning-soap, i cannot really stop it.

  i've been out of the org so long that my memory is fading as to exactly what their rationale is for not celebrating thanksgiving.. i was speaking to my dad, whose not a jw but a supporter of it (for my mom's sake), and he was for some reason informing me of my mom and his attempts next week to take a relative (for whom they are caretakers) up to visit my aunt and uncle (several 200 miles away) for thanksgiving.

  but he made sure to inform me how my mom and he would not eat with them (they'd go somewhere, like a movie, for a while).

  again, forgive me, i've been out too long.

  Hmmm, I wonder if I should show this thread to my mom. Hardly a thanksgiving has gone by in some 25 years that she has not done the whole meal deal. It is all my fault though. I requested a turkey dinner because it was a special day for me - Cowboys v. Redskins This is circa 1978ish. I've heard all the excuses too - cheapest meat - only time family is together etc... Truth is that she enjoys doing it or else she simply would use a WT excuse not to. Anyways, she is shopping today for the Thanksgiving cheap meal and I'm just hoping to be over this blasted head cold by then so I can enjoy it!

  it is kind of a strange feeling.

  not, that i would miss the meetings, but somehow i feel, that brothers and sisters will ask for explanations why i didn t come, and for me i have to honestly point out, that i wouldn t feel my beliefs being strengthens.

  the fear to loose all friends and so on.

  Are we there yet ?

  this might date me, but here goes.

  in 1974 i was eight years old i can remember my parents egerly looking forword to the big "a" there were many preperation to be maid, we stocked up on large cans of goverment surpluse welfair food, we set aside books & magz my mom though we should bury them, my dad said it would be safe enough just to hide them under the house, (he did'nt want to dig the hole).

  when back to school time came around they were considering keeping us out of school, and there was much talk about who we would first get to talk to among the risen dead.
