people who deliver advertising material for distributors are in no way an employee of the distributor.the deliverer is an independant contractor.. what i am talking about here is dropping off advertising material for businesses in letter boxes house to house.the wording is such that in no way can a person who may be injured ,one way or another ,has any claim on the distributor .
so my question is : isn`t this the same stance that the wtb&ts takes with each and every jehovahs witness who goes from door to door pedalling their message distributing their literature ?.
they are not employees of the wtb&ts , they are volunteers who do this of their own violition and we have no obligation to be accountabile for anything that may happen to them in the course of their volunteering .
Smiddy, I remember years ago being told (very firmly!) to never slip mags or tracts under doors.
apparently someone had done this & then it rained & colours ran onto the homeowners carpet. I heard that the WTBTS had to pay for carpet cleaning or replacement. This was somewhere in Australia in 80s or early 90s.
i have lunch monthly with my only friend left in the borg.

so i started going to church with her, and bible studies at her home.
in hindsight.... i found out that she made these moves a few days later when i showed up to her family's house for the study.
i stopped going to our church.

i am halfway through my master's program in psychology/sociology and plan on being a therapist/sounselor.
i left jw's in 1988 and i have never looked back.
i enjoy my life so much after getting my aa degree, then my ba degree, and now i will soon get my ma degree.
To anyone who looked at my life, I would appear to have moved on years ago. No one even knows that I used to be a JW. And if they did, they wouldn't know what it meant.
franticfran expresses it well, there is something about being on here, people understand. And I feel like I understand most people on this board. It is helping a lot.

i liked the character laura dern plays in enlightened.
i like her as an actor, from here early work with david lynch and also nicolas cage.. laura's character, amy jellicoe, reminds me of us in our journey, sometimes more emotional than intellectual in the reaction to abuse and injustice but a fighter who will put the right nuance on an argument eventually.
This was an excellent show, she did remind me of xJW! I'm sorry it's ended now, I wanted to see what she would do next.

Hey DR, I went through so much to leave the org. Years later I thought why? I could have just left.
But, like you ... I never knew this was possible, I'd never heard of anyone leaving. There's always some horrible story whispered about anyone who was DFd or DA. I truly did not know it was possible to just stop.
so, you have this forum, which is huge. You know lots of other people's stories.
you can just not go, one meeting at a time. And answer no questions, you are an adult & you owe no one an explanation.
Just say you are thinking and prefer not to discuss anything until your thoughts are clear.
