Exactly Villagegirl,
I think one can recognize in Meleti's posts signs of cognitive dissonance. I understand it because for a while I tried to hang on to 'the truth', afraid of losing friends and family and the hope for the future, everlasting life on a paradise earth in perfection, facing the impending destruction at Armageddon.
But no more. I personally could not give my support and allegiance to a destructive cult who actively protects paedophiles and whose harmful policies and mind control destroy people's lives.

I was reading some scriptures about children paying for the sins of their parents and alas, was bit confused...
You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them, because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation, in the case of those who hate me.—Exodus 20.5

Anyway, Tater-T I have to agree with you. What was it that Jesus said again? "That one was a manslayer when he began." (John 8.44) So, the WT always taught us this means that Satan is responsible for all the deaths in the world. So Adam and Eve died 'in the same day' in God's eyes but Satan and those who later became his demons are still alive and kicking making the world a bloody mess. Hmm, curious.
Are Satan and the demons imperfect because they've sinned? That always subconsciously bothered me, how angels could sin and get away with it for thousands of years. Oh, they're not immortal, I get it, they can be destroyed by God. But they continue being superhuman adversaries of God's people out to test their loyalty to God? 6000 years of experience catching humans, beginning with successfully misleading the first two perfect humans in history plus having higher mental capacity and superpowers? That's an unfair advantage, God!
Oh, let's give Jehovah a break, since his standards of justice kidnapped mankind from him when Adam sinned. So to save mankind (he needed believers on earth too after he spent all that time getting it ready for man) God lets his own son come to earth and offer himself as a human sacrifice to pay the price of the ransom to God even though he wasn't the kidnapper!
Meanwhile he lets a psychopathic killer—Satan—and his accomplices on the loose killing billions of people to prove why he should arrest them thousands of years in the future, for a thousand years, to them let loose again so they mislead a lot of the people alive so that he can only then put an end to all this killing once and for all by finally executing Satan, his demons, and all those they successfully mislead.
All this, of course, will settle once and for all why we should all subject ourselves to him and give up our free will to him, because if we don't do as he says and are not thankful for the expensive price he payed to save us in the first place, he'll have to kill us!
I mean, I don't think personally I would support a government policy of letting psychopaths/serial killers for thousands of years on the loose to prove why the best course is having the government/police maintaining order in the first place.
In my book, Jehovah seems disturbingly similar to Palpatine/Hitler/Caesar in creating a war so he could claim his right to stay in power.
And I have to agree with Phizzy, Jehovah had better not bring Armageddon before the end of the decade because I have a lot in my bucket list, I'm waiting for the next Star Wars movies just to see how they will turn out, the 3rd series of the BBC Sherlock, the final episodes of Series 7 of Doctor Who, the next Hobbit films, and the fall of the WT (now THAT is an important issue).

Why is the "Shepherd the Flock of God" book only viewed by Elders?

if the sheep are not allowed to view the elders manual then they should not be allowed to view/read the nwt.. "the following page shows an excerpt from one of the official letter that was sent to the elders regarding the importance of keeping this book confidential:.
(note: the "kingdom ministry school" referred to in the letter is a training program for elders and ministerial servants; the 1991 kingdom ministry textbook referred to is the previous version that the"shepherd the flock of god" book replaces)".

Seriously, if elders are considered by the Borg to be only 'spiritual shepherds', and not qualified to investigate or evaluate allegations of child abuse on a criminal level, why the hell are they supposed to evaluate the level of repentance of a sinner, especially since they cannot read hearts. No human can.
The justice systems of the most developed lands is not perfect, and yet they hold hearings where the public can attend, with an attorney/barrister and prosecutor, witnesses, judges, jury, etc. Yet, the elders who have no professional training to serve in those capacities are supposed to reach a decision that represents Jehovah's will. And based on their decision you will be shunned for life by friends and family.

Yes Chaserious, Jehovah has never sued anyone for using his work without asking for permission first.

The WT claims Jehovah's Witnesses are true Christians, who follow the example of first-century Christians. They didn't have secret books. One can't have it both ways. If the apostles who were inspired did not hide anything, why does an uninspired organization hide things from its followers?
Here is clear example of the WT misguided use of copyright as highlighted by Cedars. I'm copying it below.
Very recently, in its April 2nd letter to all congregations, the Society announced that it would be revising its approach to the internet - namely by amalgamating its three websites into just one (jw.org), which would be revamped with a focus on presenting JW beliefs in a more appealing light. By encouraging interested ones (who have no prior indoctrination to ignore "apostate" material) to turn to the internet for their information, they run the risk that such ones will roam further than the Society's official pages, and gather information instead from any one of the hundreds of web pages that present JW beliefs and practices in a less than flattering light - including neutral sites such as Wikipedia. It's like sending your kids into a toyshop and telling them not to touch anything - it ain't gonna happen!
A recent post on the JWN forum gives us a reminder of how hopelessly inept the Society is when it comes to censoring online material. In 2009 they issued a legal complaint to a JW-related website via one of their solicitors, claiming infringement of copyright.
You're probably thinking "Well who can blame them for fighting back at the 'rabid apostates'? They write their own original material, they're entitled to stop it from being used negatively against them!" Well, here's the thing. The website wasn't apostate - it was a site run by Jehovah's Witnesses who wished to discuss the day's text together via an online blog. Not exactly defamatory or explosive material!

The website features a link that allows you to view an archived page from the website, showing how harmless it was before they were shut down by the Society's lawyers.
The website's writers make an excellent point that one of their so-called 'copyright infringements' was that they quoted from the New World Translation, which is one of the publications on the Society's Watchtower Library CD-ROM that is subject to copyright laws.
The author notes the irony that the Society has essentially slapped a copyright label on the bible itself, despite the fact that they claim it was written by God. The author rightly asks "Do you think Jehovah or Jesus would protect the Bible using copyright laws?" and quotes Revelation 22:17 which says (at risk of copyright infringement, sorry Randy!) "Let anyone thirsting come; let anyone that wishes take life’s water free."
By turning on their own followers, and threatening legal action against a benevolent JW-friendly website, the Society made a terrible PR blunder - and demonstrated the disastrous consequences of allowing a religious organization to be run by lawyers. They also showed how hopelessly behind they are in their battle with the internet. They cannot hope to engage the internet on its own turf if they are unable to even differentiate friend from foe.
And so, reminded of the Society's hopeless ineptitude, as we await the launch of the sparkling new JW.org as a symbol of its new attempts to befriend the internet, we can put our feet up, get the popcorn out, and watch the disaster unfold.

Chaserious, Jehovah's words have been twisted but they are there in the bible for all to read and judge for themselves. The point is he never copyrighted them. They are in the public domain for all to use and quote and share.
That still doesn't adress the issue. The bible is available to all, the Mosaic Law, the words of Jesus, the letters of Paul and the other apostles. All in the open. Why do the elder's book and letters to the BOE have to be kept secret?
