hi everyone.... i was "raised" as a dub and got baptised in '86...so in total i had been a jw for over 20 years.
i came to realize that the "way of life" i was living was in fact made up of mostly lies.
i started "questioning" the borg about 6 years ago and finally came out with almostatheist last sept. i know in my heart that they are mostly wrong and very legalist.
But those who subscribe to the apostate worldview must adhere to the single principle that bad motives are to be imputed to the actions prominant Witnesses in every instance.

but they are not yet entirely accepting of the apostate worldview.
um can you please define that?
the witnesses had a coherent and comforting system before apostates came along and challenged many of "the watchtower's" core beliefs.
over blood, the un and other issues the "watchtower" has responded to apostates by clarifying/changing positions.
many firm believers have been led away from the faith by the active apostate community on the web.
What we are looking for is a return to gentler times...

i've noticed that ex dubbies tend to become quite patriotic once they've left the witnesses.
actually, scrub the patriotic, i mean very patriotic!.
it's odd really..we don't give much credence to king or country whilst we're in the dubby brigade, yet once we're out, we seem to become a bunch of flag waving scallywags with the best of them.. i wonder if we're using patriotism as a replacement for the loss of a controlling influence that we feel when we leave the witnesses?
Well, seeing as I haven't been a dubbie for a while I have a slightly different perspective. Patriotism for me is a combination of things. Being involved in local politics, helping others, and contributing to the good of my city/state/country is what patriotism means to me. Nationalism is another bird altogether. I have no delusion that the US is "better" than any other country, nor do I, as many nationalists do, slam other countries for their deficicient aspects. Many people assume it is not patriotic to take a stand against war or any administartation running the country, but I don't think so. I think dissenters keep the political climate as healthy as it can be. Just my 2 cents.

saturday seems to be much preferred over sunday, so this years bbq will be held on saturday, july 9th, commencing around 2 pm.
location is our home in weston super mare.
as usual, the day will be very boozy and proceedings will conclude in the waverley pub.
I'll wheedle around the landlady to stay open late for us again, I think it went on until 3-ish in the morning last year.
Eman, I could always bribe her with another dollar and a dreadlock... Either that or we'll just get Kent to tell her she has effin great tits....*LOL*

for those of you who dont already know by now, the sheriff's deputy who told us to stop picketing last thursday works for the very same department that i do.
she works patrol, and i work corrections.
i remember when she used to work in the jail a few years ago, but im not sure if she recognized me.
eh actually you should contact the city dept in charge of license to demonstrate and then see if it can be arranged for you to picket there. That way if the city can give sanction then perhaps they cops can lay down some flares and you could be on the "median"? Or even maybe contact Walmart accross the street and see if they will help.

i was in nassau sitting on the beach, sipping a 151 pina colada, watching the jet-ski guy, all toned and tanned.
i remember thinking, he's got the coolest job in the world ... sittting on the beach all day, renting & teaching drunk & horny tourists how to ride them.
that's my fantasy .... i wanna be the jet-ski guy.
I do pretty damnable good and besides being the chief samurai in charge of hacking Satanus to small bits in the new system.. I don't think I can beat it. 3 days on campus 14 hours a week plus whenever I want at home online.....
