i'm doing research for an article of writing on why jw's are clinging on to the religion regarless of the pain and dysfunction.

those of you that remember me know i have written on this subject for many years.

i have not written an article on this topic for over nine years and i wanted to create a relevant post based on the current dynamics and theology.

what is truth?

i had a lawyer this weekend in one of my workshops that could not accept the concept of relative truth.
12 STEP RECOVERY OF XJWS

the twelve steps of ex jws .

step 1. we admitted we were powerless over posting and reading on xjw forums.. step 2: we came to believe that reading and posting would heal our wounds and restore us to sanity.. step 3: we made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to some higher power and or more worthy purpose.. step 4: we made a searching and fearless moral inventory of jws and other xjws.. step 5: we admitted to ourselves (sometimes) and to other posters the exact nature of our wrongs and rights according to us.. step 6: we were entirely unconsciously ready to expose our selves of these defects of character by our writing.. step 7: wiser persons who had walked ahead of us down this painful path towards healing and recovery humbled us at times.

step 8: we made a list of all the persons that harmed us and we were liberally willing to harm them.

all actions are tied to two forces pain and pleasure.

under these two forces are personal needs of an individual and these are as varied as the number of posters.

however all of these have the lowest common denominator of pain or pleasure.

How to Overcome Programmed Fear by JWs

as jws we were programmed with rules to no end.

we even had rules for what to do when the rules we knew did not apply to new situations.

this constant diet of rules upon rules created our mental map that for many is still deeply ingrained below conscious awareness and still operating even though we are no longer jws.

what motivates jws to engage in a debate with former jws?

this question is something i have written about in years past and my hope is that it will provide some insight to the newbies.

Boundaries Part 2

a boundary is a limit we set to give our life structure and form.

many victims never were taught or allowed to set normal healthy proper boundaries.

in my jw days it was appalling to see how elders and the whole authority machine constantly violated boundaries of rank and file jws.
