i just thought i'd amuse myself by seeing what madness awaits in the new 2013 yearbook.. you might like to read some of the gems i've uncovered.... .
"true christians are soon to cross into the promised new world, so they need to be courageous and strong.
how soon are we talking about?
I'm wondering what the relatives of the 153 people who died in the plane crash would make of the JW-version of this tragedy.
I'm wondering what the family and friends of the JW girl raped and killed by a fellow JW makes of how Jehovah truly had his hand in this tragedy, saving the family, yet lifted not a finger to help this poor girl in her tragedy...
I've already gone off on a couple of people who have pulled the "Jah/God/Allah was with me/them/us/whoever" mentality. Whether it's JWs, or any other religion, that is about the most insensitive and stupid thing anyone can say after a tragedy.

Found it. It's downloadable on JW.org My, how Jehovah's chariot is speeding up the work in these last days...
Anyway... Page 174 thru 176 - an article entitled "One Hundred Years Ago 1913"
Quote on page 176: "Jehovah's people were also optimistic but for different reasons. The Bible Students had long heralded 1914 as a pivotal year in human history, and their expectations ran high." Further down a couple of paragraphs: "What was in store for 1914? How would the 'Photo-Drama (of Creation) be received? What would happen in the fall, at the end of the Gentile Times? The Bible Students eagerly awaited the answers to these questions, confident of Jehovah's backing. ... The next year was to be one of great change for the Bible Students-and the entire world." End of article.
Wait... What? What was pivotal about 1914? What was in store for 1914? What did happen in the fall at the end of the Gentile Times? What was the great change?
Tune in next year, same batshit channel, same batshit publication, to see what new batshit revisionist history they come up with to deflect what really happened in 1914, yet try to convince 2014 dubs that the WTS was on top of their game a hundred years ago.

"A Cult Member Finds the Truth"
Someone was reading JWFacts.com and they reported on it in the Yearbook?
Seriously... someone needs to cut and paste that entire article.
hey everyone!
i'm so happy that i finnally joined i just turned 17 and i have so many questions about the org.. i've been lurking around the site for months, and love reading experiences about bethel, and all the hypocricy that the wtbts spews out.. so i finally joined in and hope to make some great friends.. a little about me:.
im male, 17, and i am a born-in, so this is all i know... i was baptised at age 13 i beleive.... my gramma, and grampa and mom , and sisters and brothers, are all jw's.
Welcome to the board.
I saw your posts on the Mark Sanderson thread. A word of caution... what ever you say here is open for anyone to see, including family, JWs, elders, Bethelites, etc. If you're having to stay under the radar and not expose yourself as 'apostate' or even 'doubting', be careful about what you post about yourself, so as to not give yourself away.

2012 memorial partakers total 12,604.....atlantis
I can't understand why they just don't make up a number to, in the very least, not raise questions, if not play into their prophecies.
Back when I was in and the number first started reversing, going back up that is, I questioned it. Of course the answer was that some of the anointed even fall away and lose faith, so they have to be replaced. Which makes no f'g sense whatsoever.
Look, you have 100 apples. 5 of those apples rot. They have to be removed. Now you're down to 95 apples. But you have an agreement with someone somewhere, that you will always have 100 apples in the barrel. So you add 5 new apples. The new total? 100 apples.
The anointed numbers should never go up. The only time that it could conceivably go up, if you're buying into the whole WT theology that is (old light, back when I was still in), is if a member of the 144,000 in heaven turned away from worshipping Jehovah and aswering to the King Jesus. Then you would have to seek a replacement from Earth. But do you really expect members of Christ's court in heaven to turn away? More than one or two ever? And at the rate that these old timers should be dying off, 70 and 80 years after the number was attained, you'd not see an increase of one or two, when dozens are dying.
By the time the WTS re-opened heaven, to allow for more nuts to claim being anointed, I was already on my way out and all my arguments for the increase in numbers became moot. But it was justification that I was on to the problem of the numbers increasing before I was fully awakened and seriously questioning.
i was researching something completely different, and found this article:.
http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/sectionfront/life/survey-jehovahs-witnesses-pray-the-most-nationally-340983/.
the article (written in 2009) says: "on this national day of prayer, a survey finds that jehovah's witnesses are the most likely americans to pray daily, catholics are just below average and 5 percent of atheists claim to pray daily.".
5 percent of atheists claim to pray daily
WTF?
Backsliders...
while i agree 100% that westboro is a hate group aren't the jw's also hate group?
how many times in wt literature do they come right and say 'we must hate...'?
i understand they are a bit more politically correct these days but the thought and actions are still there.. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/265k-sign-petition-label-westboro-hate-group-article-1.1228100.
The JW religion, with its parent company, the WTS, is a cult, but they're not in the same class as Westboro. Today's WTS is WT-lite, compared to the old days. They used to be in-your-face with their doomsday predictions and preaching style. Today they work hard to not bring attention to themselves. They do preach the messages of how God will destroy all that are not affliated with them, but they stop short of picketing funerals and holding up signs that God hates entire groups of people. They save their harshest depictions of Armageddon for members' ears only. And that's to keep them scared, and in line.
The WTS is sneakier than Westboro. They don't wear their beliefs on their sleeve as does Westoboro. Westboro folks are so delusional, they really do believe the shit they shovel. The WTS probably knows that they're doctrines are all shit, so they're just protecting what little empire they have left. Westboro groupies are hardcore, willing to alienate everyone around them to spread their message. JWs are duped sheeple who are too lazy to investigate their own beliefs, and who try hard to not raise suspicions among worldly people, that they are indeed WT cult members.

the bushmaster was left in the car and it was 4 handguns that were used in the massacre!
the media are morons.. .
True. There was no assault rifle used in Newtown. It was a semi-automatic rifle.
my wife, my m-i-l and i were driving over to my wife's aunt's home on christmas day to celebrate christmas - which involved letting the aunt's great-great-grandkids open their presents, and eating an early supper (or late lunch).. we were on the way at around 10:30am to 11:00am to the house.
about a couple of miles away, whilst driving through the neighborhood, i spotted a couple of middle-aged young women wearing skirts down to their ankles, and carrying large handbags (aka 'bookbags').
they were between houses, and walking slowly... pioneer stroll?....
I was raised by gung-ho JW parents who dragged us kids out every Thanksgiving, Xmas and Easter. I absolutely loathed those days. I was thinking about this on Xmas day, sleeping in, and not having not to get dressed to endure two/three hours of freezing temps, and knocking on doors of people enjoying their holiday with their families, only to piss em off as we tried to push an anti Xmas message WT on them.
I sorta got to reminiscing (if you can call it that... maybe 'reliving the nightmare' is more apt) about it while I sipped my spiked egg nog on Xmas morning. The worst was as a kid, when the door was opened and you saw kids, still in their jammies, not much different in age than yourself, laughing, playing with new toys, eating candy, having a blast. Sometimes there was a fire in the fireplace, the smell of pine tree, coffee and various other good food smells wafting out into the cold air. And there I was, out in that cold air, a child in a suit, holding a bookbag and WT magazines, looking like a minature version of the sour old people that I was in service with. And then seeing the Xmas cheer leave the face of the householder as they realized I was not Auntie Mabel or Uncle Jimbo, but a JW looking to intrude in on their holiday. More than once I was chastised for disturbing people on their most sacred of holidays.
When I got old enough to make plans with friends, about the time one of our group got a driver's license, we'd make plans to go out in service, but ditched it for hanging out somewhere warm and dry for a couple of hours. I remember for awhile, we went to video arcades, where we'd run into other JW kids (not ditching service) and word was getting back that we were ditching service for video games, so we had to find new haunts. By the time I was 18, I had made a definite stand to never, ever go out in service on a major holiday. It pissed my parents off at the time, and dismayed a couple of elders, but I hated it so bad, that I was able to argue my case quite well...at least well enough that no one ever convinced me the error of my ways.
