What is the most confusing aspect for me is that I have never heard of this happening before EVER.
Also the fact that it didn't bother him basically until the brothers let him know that it should... I just sat on the phone like WTF dude. Apparently he said that as she described the act to him she seemed to almost enjoy retelling it.
Personally even though I am married I think Iwould slightly enjoy retelling the story of me fondling the boobs of another woman if my wife was actually contemplating divorcing me over it...

MTS & Gilead: Can we talk about how much of a FAILURE these 2 schools were/are?
by Black Man ini know quite a few from both of these schools who basically crashed and burned once they got into their assignments.
graduates of these schools would be thrown into foreign territorities or remote areas without a good visible means of support and would get emotionally, mentally, financially burned out.
post your experiences or of those you know that went to these pitiful excuses for educational institutions..

My congo in jersey had 5 brothers that went to MTS school.
The first never became a C.O. and is currently out the truth no more than 2 years after returning.
The second graduated, came back and married a sister 32 years his senior because she was loaded...................
The third got to married, got sent to Togo and he and his wife both acquired Malaria... dude looked like a walking skeleton. His wife not so much. He is still in his assignment I suppose
The fourth graduated got married then sent to congo in Minnesota... I have recently found out that he is in some form of legal trouble and has lost his priveledges
The fifth brother recieved his acceptance during a part on the assembly program at Jersey City... he graduated and got a beautiful wife. Was sent to his former congo and lived in the P.O. upstairs house. He beat the braks of his wife all most every night. He then got disfellowshipped for adultery all in 3 years of coming back....

So I have a friend in a congregation in New Jersey who recently called me to tell me that he got a divorce. Nothing surprising there at first but it is the fact of when it happened.

She never went to the elders about it and after the event occured is when she decided to go back to meetings and get her life together. 2 years later she met him and they got married etc...
He said when she told him he wasn't very upset because it happened before she knew him. However the elders told her she could no onger pioneer - but then asked her if she told her husband about this before they got engaged and married. She said no. THe brothers then went on to inform him that because she had committed this act and didn't tell him before they were engaged to be married that the foundation of the marriage was false. (I was an elder for about 6 years and never heard of this happening.) He now had scriptural grounds for divorce. They let him no that in essence she lied to him and covered over a seriious sin and purposelly mislead him into believing she was "pure".
He told me that as they described it more it really helped him to see just how serious the wrong she committed was. He said the brothers told him in front of his wife to go home and think about what his decidion would be. He said that after thinking about it, how she was hiding these lies from him and the fact that another man had done these things to her - he was repulsed. He said he forced her to describe what happened with the man in detail and afterward he just could not bare to touch her...
He informed her that he was going to seek a scriptural divorce and that one of them has to move out immediately

Anyone else an Ex Bethel "volunteer"

i personally regularly went for temporary work at brooklyn then was assigned to the farm for a year and a half.
it was... one of the most bizaare experiences of my life.. so i wrote it all down (finally, after some 15 years) so i won't bore anyone on here with the details of the story - because bethel doesn't show up until chapter 15... and for you straight folks, it gets a bit gay in two places... but nothing gross.

however, a few people who have met governing body members have said how kind and humble they were.

I got to spend time talking to Sydlik / Barber / Barr and Jaracz. I dumped the garbage in their offices for 6 and a half months.
Sydlik was literally like a frat boy type. He was crude. Always had a joke to tell around the younger brothers. Compared young male basketball players to gazelles. He use to paint (which he was awful at and would admit it) and would wear a french beret and wear a nasty white tshirt that showed his enormous belly. He was fun around young guys. But when he got to tables full of guests he would try to seem like he was very very intelligent but also very caring for the brothers.
Barber was like a grandpa (he had a serious liking for young women on tours. Like seriously would ignore the older sisters and would pose for hugs with the younger sisters and always have his hands juuuust under their side boobs. He was an awful speaker and never seemed to try hard. I never really saw any arrogance in the guy.
Barr was similar to Barber. We refer to him as a skinny koala bear. He seemed humble around the tours but he seemed to be pretty full of himself when dealing with everyone else.
Jaracz was a douchbag. Him and that yellow skin that looked like day old chicken left in the sun... He had this aire about him that just oozed arrogance. I hated seeing his face. Ever time I saw him i wanted to just push him down a flight of stairs.
All this to say that the ones I got to speak to fairly regular or see them in action appeared at times to be normal people, but when they had to be their GB selves they would display differing levels of arrogance depending on who was around. After all if THEY ARE CHRISTS BROTHERS THEY MUST BE SOMETHING SPECIAL
