"furthermore, despite dramatic reductions, the united states and russia still retain awesome arsenals of nuclear warheads.
They've changed their ideas on the faint out of fear scripture. Apparantly now it means that the wicked (especially apostates so I'm told by my study conductor) will become faint out of fear at the expectation of things to come - meaning they're aware of their impending destruction and are scared shitless about it because Jah is making his presence known. World leaders will soon come to the realisation that God does exist and they'll piss themselves....or so I've bin told in not so many words.....
i think it's very shameful the way both the jw's and certain members of the catholic church are handling their various child abuse scandals.
if the god they say they worship does exist, he must be very disgusted with what he sees.
i think both bernard cardinal law of boston and the watchtower society, chiefly through their "pr man" j.r. brown, are not really owning up to their responsibilities.
I agree with you on this point. The jw's have treated the abused atrociously...not just children, but the physically and emotionally battered wives as well! I feel very strongly that the two witness policy should not apply in a childs case as it is highly unlikely that that would occur. Jesus showed mercy to a woman who was bleeding and didn't enforce the full law - instead he comforted her knowing what she was going thru. He also said to plead the widow and the fatherless boys case...because no one else would defend them...so you'd think the elders would follow Christs example.
I think the Catholics are doing the best they can to make amends at this point...at least that shows that they are willing to admit they were at fault. JW's on the other hand....
Now as for me, I throw my burden on Jehovah - God - the bible tells me to and he will sustain me. The bible also says that revenge is for Jehovah, nothing is hidden from him and he will work it out for us. We only need trust that he will help us. I'm focusing on forming a personal relationship with Jehovah...not the Jehovah's Witnesses...they won't be my salvation...Jah will!
This is one issue I wish the JW's had made a stand on from the beginning instead of whitewashing the problem.... It doesn't exist in the congregation because we are all dedicated servants who have cleansed ourselves of every defilement of the flesh, as if those types would be among us TOSS TOSS!!
I hate to say this but JW's need to take a page from the Catholics book.....and learn from their stupidity.....
well, yesterday, i told zazu happy "day before mother's day" just in case i forgot.
my youngest daughter called yesterday and asked my wife out for mother's day dinner.
zazu declined because her ankle is still bothering her, and she still does not want to venture too far.
Mothers and Fathers day are luverly days...my gran always brightened up when she received some flowers from her son....showed he was thinking of her....so I guess it ain't so bad afterall.......
But I'd still be showing my appreciation as often as I could...

Larc, I don't think the year you were married is important either...it's whether you still value and luv each other that counts and if that's what the celebration is all about...why not everyday instead of one day a year.
I always wished I had a birthday party...but then I used to sing that Alice in Wonderland song to myself "A very happy unbirthday to me, to me, a very happy unbirthday to me!" I luv it!!!!!!!!!!! Afterall there is more to Vi than one day...and who wants to celebrate getting older I ask????????????

It's great you have considerate kids like that....I look forward to a time when I may be able to too.
But do they really need a special day to show their luv and appreciation....I show it any chance I get!!!!!
while most of it boils my blood....i do agree that parents have to take a greater responsibility and view everyone as a potential monster to their child...it's the only way to protect them short of supergluing their arse to yer hip!
because pedophiles hide so well in society and the warning signs can be a little cloudy....it's better to be safe than sorry.. parents need to be alert to the people in the community, the people they associate with the most...be it religion, school, neighbours, the sitter....a parent can not afford to be lack in any area of their childs life...even their extra-ciricular activities opens them up to dangers beyond belief!
parents be viligent and if anything should happen to your child despite your hardest efforts...remember...put your feelings aside (your self-loathing etc and the 'what ifs'), and nurture your child to the full extent....even if it is painful for you.. a woman i once knew refused to support her child because she couldn't emotionally face the consequences....only focusing on her own pain and not factoring in what is going thru her childs mind and heart as he slowly died inside.
Dung:
This is one area where I tend to agree with you all...as my sister and I suffered at a monsters hands too!
But some responsibility has to fall back on parents.
Molesters are great blenders remember...they don't have 'PEDOPHILE' tattooed on their heads...so parents need to be awake and on the watch!
I hate the two witness policy and I am struggling very much with it. But I have prayed for help and am trying to leave it in God's hands to deal with it....I can't do much now anyways seeing as my grandmother told me his identity AFTER he died!!!!!
When I helped my older sister raise her two children, because of my past, I viewed everyone I met as a potential molester and the kids were guarded in the loving and safe environment we tried to make for them. I am sad to say that I think my youngest nephew was interferred with after a weekend away with his great-grandparents - the great grandfather having alzhiemers and roving hands. He just didn't come back to same.
So my only solution is to guard your children with your all...as ANYONE has the potential...not just old men either....children can be molesters too...

I pray that NEVER happens to a child again!
if there are people leaving in the multitudes...do the wtbts still need so many funds..... i mean printing would go down...kingdom hall costs etc....do they need as much money?
.
so do you think they will eva make an announcement asking that donations be kept to a minimum....seeing as they have said in the past that jehovah provides them with enough to keep the ministry going and nothing more so it cannot be used and abused in other ways...... or.....
Bah-boom...how did I get into trouble over this one....I thought you guys said that the numbers were going down...so I thought we'd have a chat about how unneccessary donations are now...seeing as the WTBTS are rich, rich, rich....
No offense LDH and others....tho...how did you get offended?
