  when i was in beffel, i was asked to stock check their collection of magazines, going back to their first uk prints.

  they wanted room and so asked me to throw out all but 2 copies of every magazine.

  the irony was, this was the loft space, it was huge and empty and they didnt need the room.

  this thread is for everybody and everybody is welcome to comment on it .

  however i'm going to direct my thoughts and comments in this initial post to lurking jehovah's witnesses who may read on this board and may be sitting on the fence pondering on whether to stay in the jehovah's witnesses organization.

  also to newer members who may have joined the board.. in this latest 4/15 wt in the article , " jehovah knows how to deliver his people " it conveys the thought that only the wt society ( through god's help ) will be guiding any jw's through the alleged " armageddon " considered god's war against the wicked.

  The Watchtower leaders wouldn't know what to do if Armageddon started.

  They have put their trust in their lawyers and in their property holdings and investments.

  If the materialistic world collapsed, the WT would be in trouble as their money and property and their lawyers would be of no help to them.

  This is why they do not instruct people to make provisions to survive Armageddon, they are counting that it will never happen!!!

  When were Judge Rutherford's books discontinued by The Watchtower?

  judge rutherford wrote a good number of books and booklets that were published a distributed by the watchtower from about 1919 to 1942.. the man died in 1942.. does anyone when the watchtower stopped printing and distributing rutherford's books?.

  i have a hunch that soon after knorr took charge of the watchtower, rutherford's books were immediately replaced by books authored by anonymous, corporate wt authors.. the 1942 children book, called "the lord's provided instrument", probably wasn't distributed for more than a year after it was released!.

  anyone know exactly when rutherford's books were dropped by the wt?.

  Does anyone when The Watchtower stopped printing and distributing Rutherford's books?

  A wiki search gives a possible answer:

  Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, the corporation for administrative functions of Jehovah's Witnesses within the United States"

  The Watchtower has repeatedly state that the individual witnesses are NOT representatives of The Watchtower Society.

  Hence the instruction not to refer to "The Society" but rather to "The Organization."

  "The Organization" does not reference any legal entity, and hence the use of the term by a JW distances "The Society" from anything the individual might say or do.

  This "new light" appears to be a tactic designed to protect the Watchtower corporations from legal liability.

  i got it from my fathers library years ago.

  it seems there arent many originals around anymore.

  "' ... It is your privilege between now and before the day school opens to spend six hours a day in taking the book Children to others.' The parents should encourage their children to do this very thing, if they would have them live."

  That is one of the most presumptuous, arrogant and conceited things I have ever seen published in The Watchtower.

  Literally, The Watchtower was telling the people that a provision from Judge Rutherford was the same as a provision from Jehovah God himself!
