when i left the jw's, close friends and some elders discussed my desicion with me,without fail they all concluded the same thing.... "but where else is there to go?!".
at the time, the question just confused me, i could not see why it confused me or the very telling nature of such a comment.
i never thought that once.. firstly, this indicates that many jw's remain jw's simply because of this tunnel vision perspective... everything in their periphery is valueless, but the wt on which they focus is everthing.
I was asked this question a few days ago during a judicial meeting. I corrected the elder that it was who not where. He didn't think so, and said we should read it. Then he was surprised to see it said whom shall we go away to in their new bible. I remarked that leaving an organization didn't mean you were leaving Jesus (personal feelings on the deeper issue of god and Jesus aside).
They all think it says where will we go.

As a dub I just assumed that god could have made it appear that the sun stood still and made light in the sky. Like when moses looked at him and he was so bright Moses glowed after that. Why don't you ask one of the local elders in your hall if they feel the local elders are appointed by Holy Spirit and see what they say? I know what they will say. I want you to hear it and then make your argument to the local elders you are in good standing with.
