How was Adam Perfect? He sinned....Duh
by DS211 inwell an elder brought this up with me and said he didnt understand how adam sinned if he was perfect.
i said i dont see how he couldve sin ed if he was perfect....but he had free will to choose.
i then told him that i thought if god wanted us to obey him the worst thing he could do was create us to have free will.....a side thought i had was:.

Does god have free will or is he a robot?
Would a JW say god could do bad? Answer = No
So if god has free will but can't do bad or wouldn't do bad, then why didn't he make angels and man like that?
it doesn't make sense.

"Is my life now more meaningful, and am I happier?"
by Julia Orwell inso the question is posed in this week's watchtower study at our former cult's houses of indoctrination.
i should like to answer it, and i should like to hear your answers too.. the question is in two parts, and i shall address each one in turn.. q. is my life more meaningful?.
my life is more meaningful.

I'm very happy for you Julia! So nice to read your experience this morning. I'll share some of my feelings on the two questions as well.
1. Does your life have more meaning? - Yes. I'm not just saying that either. I suspect for most (but not of course all) who leave the JW it has more meaning. It takes a certain type of personality to accept things as you and I have. For me, realizing I don't have a nice way to live forever and avoid ceasing to exist whether in a JW paradise or a born again heaven, that caused me to live now and appreciate life so much more! Knowing and understanding that I am now here, and now is my chance, and now is what I have - I now live fully. And it's not a bleak meaningless life. It's with great appreciation and awe that I live.
2. Are you happier? - Yes. I've been truly happy. I never felt satisfied with myself as a JW. No matter what I was doing in the congregation, I worried about my past sins and whether I was doing enough now. I never felt that I was doing enough (by design). It weighed on me heavily. It crushed me mentally. It made me anxious and sad. Since waking up, I am and have been happier. Now for the last few months I have been having serious problems with ex-friends spying on me and reporting me to the elders. I've been dealing with judicial committees and family discussing not having normal relationships with me. Is that making me happier? Of course not. It's been hell. Brutally depressing and I've needed daily anxiety meds. But, that's due to unfair rules in a cult. Prior to the meddling - I WAS HAPPIER!!! lol and guess what? When this shit is all over, I will be happier again.
While the answers for me are yes honestly to both, I do find one thing funny. This religion does all it can to destroy your life if you leave. It takes your social network and family from you. Then it wants to know if you like it better. Pathetic wastes of star dust is what the writers of that article are.

This photo woke me up
by krejames in.
i was already on my way to my second fade when i went to the wildlife photographer of the year 2012 exhibition, but this photo made me lose faith in the idea of a loving creator......(the gazelle has been injured by the mother cheetah so she can use it to train her cubs to hunt).

Just as Jesus calmed the weather and demonstrated control of the environment, so could his father not control deer dicks? Certainly we can confidence in Jehovah's abilities to control all dicks. In his promised new world overpopulation will be gone as will the seemingly cruel behavior that animals learned from the first sinful humans.

it's not a "tap" but definitely is not "stimulation".
i tried to convince my wife, who, after 5 years of marriage, strangely felt guilty all the sudden, that its not do called porneia.

The elders book says that if it happened years in the past and the person is sorry there is no need for action. They are not going to care about something 5 years ago, its just an embarrassment they do not have a right to.

Some vs Many
by Londo111 init is interesting how the watchtower uses these two words.
for instance, the word some is often used to minimize, and many used to maximize.
and yet, it is so unspecific that some might be a greater quantity than many, yet the mind doesnt process these words this way.. for instance, if it is a failed prediction or a changed teaching, they might say, some believed... when it fact some means most or all, because this was food at the proper time coming from gods channel through the watchtower.

WT's Crazed Obsession!
by JW GoneBad ini have recently read for the umpteenth time the 4 gospel accounts.
what caught my attention this time around was how many times jesus makes mention of the endeared expression father (with f in caps) when referring to his god as recorded by matthew, mark, luke and john.. what was also interesting by comparison is how little jesus actually makes reference to his father on a first name basis (jehovah) in these four books.. note my findings with the help of the comprehensive concordance:.
jehovah: matthew 11 times mark 8 times luke 26 times john 4 times (total 49 times).. father: mathew 43 times mark 4 times luke 21 times john 119 times (total 187 times).. .

I'm pretty positive Jesus is not quoted as saying Jehovah. The bible books may say it but you won't find Jesus quoted saying it. Now maybe I'm wrong... But I've looked into it before. If Jesus had used that name then It would be heralded by JWs. Instead they say "we can be sure he used his fathers name".

juror email leads to mistrial.
that juror now faces a possible contempt of court charge.the trial of a man involved in a high speed crash that killed a prince george's county police officer last year ended in a mistrial.. one of the jurors told the judge via email thursday morning that judging others was a violation of her religion as a jehovah's witness, news4's prince george's county bureau chief tracee wilkins reported.. kevon darnell neal, 23, was charged with vehicular manslaughter and fleeing and eluding following the death of officer adrian morris, 23.. morris and his partner were pursuing a stolen silver acura when their cruiser ran off interstate 95 near the powder mill road exit in august 2012. morris died after being ejected from the vehicle.

I can guarantee you that she got pressure from "the friends" and after all that time and money she quit from the pressure. Jeez... Pathetic.
