Wouldn't a scourge or pestilence have been a much fairer and better miracle? Why did animals have to die? How were there ice ages if there was a water canopy keeping everything temperate? Why are polar bears and arctic foxes white with thick hair if there was no snow?

OMFG Dinosaurs and Noah
by konceptual99 injust fell off my chair whilst listening to the bible "highlights".
someone has actually just said that the flood account actually helps inform scientists on matters that perplex them.
for example for decades they have wondered how the dinosaurs all disappeared but if they looked at the account of the flood then they would see the answer.

Build it and they will come
by Pete Zahut in"build it and they will come".
i said, " in a world filled with crappy fast food restaurants that should never have made it, movies and tv shows that are terrible yet make millions, celebrities who are famous for doing nothing and butt ugly crappy cars that were built and sold by the millions; if you put "it" out there and are consistant about it, people will eventually find you.
no matter how bad mcdonalds food is for you and (tastes) there will always be a line of people out the door.

Who Made The Code?
by Perry ina few weeks ago, discoveries were made that show that there is another dna code language that rides on top of the already incredibly complex 4-letter code previously discovered.
this newly discovered code apparently regulates how genes work.
as i noted in a previous thread, the amount of data storage available in the dna storage system just the size of a pin-head would filll a stack of books stacked from your driveway to the moon .... 500 times!

Wait. It didn't all just pop out of rocks and mud? That's what I get for listening to those theoretical scientists.

The true NATURE of God, as seen by the writers of the EDEN story--.
by prologos inon the "picture--" thread, bloody hotdog made an interesting observation on bloody sacrifices that please god.
: can you picure it?.
cain, being an astute observer, noted that god approved the bloody sacrifice given by abel, so he upped the ante' and sacrificed his brother under the guise of anger, jealousy, striving for monopoly.. did god see it coming?.

Very interesting Pro. About the Cain and Abel story, here are a few thoughts that bothered me as a witness.
god knew what Cain was going to do because he went and warned Cain before it happened. Why didn't he warn Abel? How cruel.
God knew before it happened that the first murder in history would happen and he didn't stop it. He Was so involved in dealing with humans that they were already offering sacrifices. Why? What purpose was the sacrifice for? Why did god want animals to die for a sacrifice? If the god talked and dealt with people so much that they knew to offer sacrifices and he even spoke to Cain, what does that say about him? He TALKED to them and they ignored him? But today we are supposed to listen to 8 men in New York who change their mind from year to year and give evidence they are NOT inspired?

Blip! The radar has blipped. I'm on it. 'chat' booked in for Sunday.......
by Captain Blithering ina young, progressive, kind elder wants to have a chat with me on sunday after the meeting.
we've talked before and been quite open about the judgemental attitudes 'we' have as witnesses, and he was completely in agreement, stating that he's never understood the beard thing among other issues, and wants to see the society moving forward by change..
i've no doubt he just wants to encourage me to up my hours or reach out again, but it's nerve wracking, as i know i'll say something i'll regret.

If your not ready to start your fade or quit then for goodness sake just smile and nod. Don't talk about doctrinal questions because when you do fade you wil be more readily considered a danger.

Dead pregnant woman forced to stay on life support, due to TX State law
by adamah inthere's an interesting medicolegal issue arising out of tx, a pregnant women who suffered a pulmonary embolism in november and died (when she was 14 weeks pregnant).. however, the body has been kept on life-support all this time (against her and her husband's wishes), due to an ambiguous tx state law (tex hs.
code ann.
166.049) which actually blocks the ability of the patient and family to decide:.

It is somehow not that surprising that a bunch of ex-jehovahs witnesses think its okay to tell others what to do in regards to morals, ethics, and their own loved ones lives. Not surprising, but still incredibly annoying.
If this dead womans own parents and her loving husband think she should be off life support, how the hell do any of you even feel comfortable giving your opinions? Must be due to years of being told everyone else is wrong, and its up to the small minority with morals to uphold the standard.
