Evidence of Ocean of Water in or under Earth's Mantle.... Will people now state this to be proof of the Noah Account?
by adjusted knowledge in"the transition zone can hold a lot of water, and could potentially have the same amount of h2o [water] as all the world's ocean.".
http://news.yahoo.com/found-hidden-ocean-locked-deep-earths-mantle-181204475.html.
i figured when people read this that there will be those claiming proof of the flood story.

I have actually read that article and it's titled inaccurately to attract attention. It is not an ocean of water, but rather a large depsit of minerals that could much water. Or something like that... It's definately not just a story about a giant ocean underground.

Birthday celebration/participation
by Zana inmy wife is considering to let our kids participate, maybe even celebrate their own birthdays.
she says what can be so bad about just giving a little kid (who doesn't yet understand the bible) a day full of joy and happiness?
she herself actually delayed her own baptism as a teenager in order to celebrate one more birthday.

Sorry buddy. I wish I could help. But, I think you nailed it when you said you had to just go a day at a time and focus on work.
Also... I personally needed some prescription anxiety/depression medicine to exit as you are. Don't be afraid to go to your normal doc and just tell him everything. I did. I just talked about the cult, and I'm trying to get my family out without them shunning me. I told him everything. He was great. He listened and prescribed some meds. One a normal daily anxiety medication and the other an emergency pill when you are like this right now.
It's the only way I could have made it through.
It's Lexapro as the daily and Ativan as the emergency one.

What happens after you get the registered letter?
by paul from cleveland inmy friend's daughter, who was baptized at 14, has decided to leave the witnesses.
she's in her early 20's.
she's stopped going to meeting a while ago and moved in with her father who is disfellowshipped.

I fought after a registered letter for about 5 months using a lawyer. I got several more family visits in, but was DF'd in the end. i think my mistake was threatening to sue the WT. I should have just threatened local elders. The local elders got a bethel lawyer involved. Surprising, but probably because I threatened to sue WT as well. Each case is different, and each case may result in a completely different action...

Escaping Indoctrination - Faith Isn't a Virtue.
by cofty inthe unknown writer of the gospel of john put the following words in jesus' mouth, "blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.".
persuading countless generations that it is a virtue to believe incredible things on insufficient evidence, is one of religion's cleverest tricks.. the more incredible the claim; the more flimsy the evidence; the stronger the belief; the greater the virtue.. this is the exact opposite of how we operate in every other aspect of our lives.. rational people must demand objective evidence for everything they are asked to believe.
"extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence".. leaving the dogmatic claims of the watchtower is only a first step.

I think the basic simple point of the OP has been lost because some were afraid it could be applied to their belief system.
I think every person who has posted here would agree that our previous faith in the WT organization was wrong and led us to be indoctrinated into a damaging way of life. During that time in our life we told ourselves that faith was a virtue and that we HAD to maintain our faith.
Just because we now we feel our faith is founded solidly doesn't mean that it is NOW a virtue.
Its a simple and relevant point.

I like magic dice the priest kept in his pocket. Ask a question and he would draw one out. Kind of like a magic 8 ball. Those Urim and Thummim should have been in there.
