How I Know The Assembly Parts Are Made Up
by lovelylil inwe had a co looking for a certain experience for an assembly part coming up and the elders in my hall at the time sent him to see me, since i usually had good experiences out in field service.. anyway, after speaking with the co, i was sorry to inform him that i did not have an experience that suited the type he needed.
he told me that was o.k.
because he could use me anyway for another part.

Expect more Crazy as JW.ORG trims the fat and fills the coffers.
by donuthole inwhen rutherford assumed the presidency of the watchtower society he instituted series of sweeping changes to the teachings and practices of the bible students.
some of these changes were at complete odds with what had been taught previously.
a key example was the elevation of the watchtower society as "god's visible organization on earth".

There are lots of jobs in the Tampa to Sarasota corridor, and health care is booming here. I wouldn't think you'd have much trouble finding work. Feel free to IM if you're planning to be in the area, maybe a few if us could meet up with you!

The married couple public prayer has always irritated me.
Me too! And every cong I've been in has been one for "obvious" prayers at restaurants...always seemed like making an announcement that WE were more religious than those sitting near us. In the South, we remarked about the loud Baptist prayers in restaurants as Pharasitical...ahh, such hypocrites we were. Our deep head-bowing was just as bad. And no one would speak to the waiter or waitress...they would have to stand there and wait on someone to finish.
We were sure wacko back in the borg....

What are the consequences if a JW files for an unscriptural divorce?
by Daniel1555 inin january my wife separated from me, because she views me as an apostate (to make the story short).. at that time the elders explained to us, that the bible doesn't approve of such a separation.
i heard from my mother in law, that my wife finally wants to divorce.
(when i think of how my wife treated me the last year i actually want a divorce too).. now my question to you:.

My ex got an unscriptural divorce then moved 800m to live near a sis he mysteriously met thru his PO buddy. The ex married her fairly soon after the divorce went through and then both were df'd, but for less than a year as they conveniently moved back to the cong where his daddy was an elder.
It's all in who you know...just like politics.

This decade - the 2010's - your view of so far
by berrygerry ini had a relative exhort me to attend sunday am of the rc, to which i said no, already read the points online.. i said that i find this decade to be the most enjoyable.. people are relaxed, people have piercings, tats, hair colour du jour, facial hair, yoga pants (okay, not so great with the people of walmart videos), etc., and no one gets a second glance.. the music is awesome, movies are pretty good.. everyone still has their trials and tribulations, bad relationships, economic swings, etc.. but i feel happy.. the posted highlights from sunday am were:.
anticipate future kingdom blessings!.
a world without satan (revelation 20:2,3,7,10).

This Good News of The Kingdom Will Be Preached Then The End WIll Come
by seekchristonly innews.
the preaching work was finished in the 1st century before the destruction of jerusalem, the temple and the old covenant.. this is confirmed by messiah and the apostles themselves.
i quote jesus.

Stillin: But I feel confident that MOST will figure things out for themselves and they have had it with having another human being explaining God to them, as though they are an authority on Godworshipping. If God wants to say something, He/She/It knows how to find us.
Seek, I think you'll find that most on this site agree 100% with stillin. No one wants to be "preached at" or told what they shoud believe. No one wants to be told that they should believe just like you do. That's offensive behavior after leaving jw-land.
Surely you understand why no one here wants to play in your sandbox.

Where does the Governing Body say "old light" comes from?
by matt2414 inthe governing body claims they've received "new light" from jehovah every time they change their doctrine.
so where did the "old light" come from that's being replaced?
if the old light is incorrect, could it have come from god?

My argument to another jw was: IF it really is the only true religion, THEN it should be miles above all the others. There should not be similarities like child abuse, power-mongering and politics. There would have to be some distinction and of course, there is none.
Sadly it's just another phony religion based on power and greed.
