They believe a spirit creature was created on the third day , meaning that Jesus "spirit" was not resurrected because he didnt have a "spirit" to begin with (he was like adam - no spirit except for fresh air), not a lot of Jws know this, but according to the WT a creature other than Jesus was resurrected(recreated) and given Jesus life pattern....wierd! It was Jesus "life pattern" that was resurrected, not his body or spirit! The bodies (plural) he appeared in after his death were not the original body that was nailed to the tree, that one was disolved into atoms or sumpthin...it gets worse as you go along....According to WT his spirit wasnt resurrected because he didnt have a spirit, his body wasn't resurrected either...confused? So was I until I realised that their claiming to believe in the resurrection of Christ was a big hoax

And do they not also say that salvation has not yet come ?

According to WTS real salvation comes after the 1000 year reign of Christ for the great crowd, however the 144000 receive salvation as soon as they have died a faithful death.

je sent your tapes off.

but after listening to the first one ( joan & introductions) the music is fine- but joan is so quite it is hard to hear her-but if you fast forward it-to the into's( the japeneze group) it get fine again.i didnt want you to think that the whole tape was like joans part.

also on my last tape ( closing comment) it is blank.i have sent off to blue mountain for a copy of the original.that is the tape the jws were on????

Grace I have been away for a couple of days so only just got your post, geee I'm already sitting under the letter box waiting on the post man, we had a postal strike for a week in Somerset, so hopefully thats gone and wont happen again and delay the tapes any further than my anxiety to get them can cope with.

I'll let you know how they turn out, I will look for your closing comments first...can barely wait for them to arrive

well, i have been checking this board for a few days and love reading the comments.

i remember starting going to the meetings when i was 5 and continued till i stopped going to the meetings about 10 yrs ago......total of 25 yrs to the meetings.

i remember as a kid not being able to celebrate birthdays or stuff like that and wearing our dresses up to our knees....that was awful.

The elders moniter whoever is up for the role, theocratic enough? On the service enough? etc..when the CO comes along they discuss the brother in question, the vote is cast. Its got nothing to do with "holy spirit" its a cast of votes.

Do You Ever Miss It?

i was in a hormonal state the last couple of days, feeling a little melancholy.....sometimes when i feel like this, i miss being a jw.

don't get me wrong, i have not intention of ever going back.

i've come to realize what i miss is the naivety, the black & white thinking, allowing the organization to pretty much guide my every thought.
