Just as well that God has a good memory

.
unless you are famous for something how long are you really remembered?.
maybe you are remembered at most by your grandchildren, but then your presence in the universe is gone.. so, really, what difference does it make whether you die in your 40's or your 70's, your memory simply lingers another 30 years at most.
Just as well that God has a good memory

on my long journey from trying to find a place where god actually resides, i have been to many a church.
i know that he does not reside in any building but i do like the fellowship along the way.
i used to be a church hopper when i left the k.h.
Hello Freddie
Hope you will find a satisfying answer to your question, I am a believer but do not practise "Tongues", I do not disgard those that do but I also question whether its the real thing too. I do believe the majority is just a load of babble done through peer pressure. In saying that I do not give it a lot of thought, I'm quite happy not knowing the answers to everything, things are not always black and white.
i need some input on how other former witnesses feel about this and if others ever became "filled with the spirit"
I think one of the fallicies of the charasmatic movement is to assume that people who are "filled with the spirit" are the ones that speak in tongues...There are many Christians who have never spoken in tongues who are filled with the spirit, its judgmental for people to assume they are not just because they dont worship in the same way. I simply dont want to speak in tongues, this has upset some people in the past, I guess they are just immature, like I am immature in some things too.

happy holiday, everyone.. i just wanted to say that being a grandparent is one of the greatest joy's.
i know there are other grandparents posting on this board who are proud of their offspring, too.. gosh, for all those lost years of having been raised jw - not really getting to know my maternal grandparents except through the eyes of an emotional jw.
sheeezzzzz.
Congrats
Glad you wont have to give the baby the conditonal love the WT expected all family to give.

for years i have seen this guy on tv i recall going out to la for a dc and his church was located in the territory of the bethelites family i stayed with and we laughed at how he was getting over on folks, just taking their money.
and now i learn that he got his early training from the jehovahs witnesses.
yes i think fred price is my new idol.
yet beleivers never stop once and ask Is something wrong with this picture??
I think thats a broad statement....many believers have exposed this "word faith" cult for being the money motivated destructive hogwash that it is.
I heard fred price on TV say he was raised a JW.

we've just been watching an absolutely heart wrenching documentary on itv about a little girl with a very rare disease (progeria) which makes her age prematurely at 10 times the normal rate.
she will be like an old woman by the time she is 10.. they have a meet-up where the little kids with the same condition can play and have fun together and seeing their poor little faces looking so happy is a wonder to behold.
i guess it's easy to forget that inside they are still really little kids.
And one more observation:
I write "program" when reffering to something on TV.
I write "Programme" when reffering to a written list of talks being given at a convention or sumpthin.
...like whats on the programme for the assembly this weekend? Or...did you see that program on tv?
MY English leaves little to be desired either way.
Brummie (still thinking of those poor children)

Laughing at Adam and chachasmum....
How can a thread discuss something so sad and tragic and then people begin seriously arguing about the letter "E" and the vernacular? Potatoe Potato potartose, who gives a flying..its all spuds where I come from in brummie land.
Poor kids though, smiling hero's all the way.

mulan, thankyou for bringing up this subject.
gawd parents of these children feel so very alone and we often are.. i am constantly in a battle with our small town school and we have made some great changes for future situations but it has cost me dearly.
inability to keep the same job due to the constant battles and needs for my son.
terabletera and all who are having to deal with the ignorance surrounding aspergers or autism, I do hope you
will find the appropriate support and understanding.
I work with adults with autism and a few are higher functioning but not totally as high functioning as those with aspergers, I stand in awe at the parents
who have stood up and made their voice heard on behalf of their children. So thumbs up to you, its an exhausting
journey but leads to a satisfying place.
Brummie.
