  i would just like to take a moment to thank all you generous souls for the donations that you have sent to vicki and scott during this difficult time for them.

  i know that some of you have little cash to spare and yet gave what you could to a person you likely have not even met.

  this is a very touching.. at the risk of sounding pushy we would just like to stress the ongoing nature of this collection, so please do not feel that you are too late to help, or that what you have is too little to make a difference, even a few dollars makes a big difference.

  Actually, theories have abounded for centuries on both sides - it's just not been publicized so much

  Men have ruled over women for centuries too in most countries. Could there be a connection somewhere? eh? eh?

  her mother was taken via ambulance to the hospital this morning.

  paramedics spoke of possible stroke/ aneurism.

  Older ones here, what do you remember being told about 1975 ???

  i was just a little kid when the 1975 thing came about, didn't pay much attention to it, after it was over, my parents told me it was just some people being over anxious, and being about 8 at the time i believed it, now when you research you find some amazing articles.

  what do you remember being told about 1975 as the year got closer ?

  It's not really mass amnesia.......it's a "remaking of events."

  The human mind is amazing when we don't want to accept something. We will remake our history to fit our personal belief system. And most all of us do it - one way or another. It's human nature.

  Old JW's remember - they've just stored the truth of the matter away, then replaced that truth with the lie that the WTBTS *suggested* to them. They took that WT suggestion, then made it into a new truth of the event.

  Ever really listen to the locals comments at a WT study? The WT will *suggest* "perhaps we should look at this matter thusly...." and some dub will wave their arm around & then answer "We're supposed to do......"

  NEVER does the conductor correct the local dub in his error..........that's the way the WTBTS wants it. They are protected in writing - and the local dubs are indoctrinated further.

  as you may remember the watchtower has petitioned the circuit court of manchester tennessee to dismiss the case against them filed by barbara and joe anderson.

  Is the WT using JW lawyers or did they get some out-worlders?

  What the heck are "out-worlders"? Literally, that could be interepreted as aliens.

  Yeah, I could see your reasoning for that.......attorneys are known as that & Other Reptiles. As to the WT? It's my understanding that for this past motion - they used one of their top in-house lawyers.

  hi to all who defended me on that other board.. i came home today to nine pm's, all defending me from the personal attacks on me, on another board.

  i am still in shock, but i do appreciate the words of those who defended me.. one gal called me and told me she had five phone calls from others expressing shock over the way i was being maligned on the other board.. i am fine, and dealing with it.

  i guess we all need to expect to be criticized.

  Hello Mulan,

  Sorry all this came your way...............and I said the same over at JWO yesterday. So did some other posters, posters who came from here - and posters at JWO.

  As 6 quoted SP...............not everyone is in agreement over at JWO. Obviously!

  Will any of the forums running now be around next year? Who knows. But jw's & xjw's will still be around. And we'll most likely be fighting along the way. Has anyone ever seen it NOT that way on the net for any extended time period?

  Quite a few people disagreed with the things said about you, Mulan - just isn't so, and we know it. You're a good woman - and many people recognize that fact.

  The more slamming that's done on both forums....most likely, the more popular both forums will be. lol - Kent's could use some slamming, eh? I AM JOKING PEOPLE!

  Anyway, we're a free people here. We can come & go as we please ..... or we're not free people, eh?

  The Over-Commercialization of Christmas

  is anyone else on here as disgusted as i am that right after halloween we are assaulted with an unending barrage of television commercials advertising christmas this and christmas that?.

  when i was a kid, it was unthinkable to advertise anything about christmas before thanksgiving.. nowadays, these smiley-faced rosy-cheeked actors are hawking their christmas wares to the point where it has become nauseating!

  it's easy to read between the lines -- what they're really saying is: (on their knees with hands clasped) "please, please buy our products!

  I think Budweiser and Miller Lite are overly commercialized, but that does not stop me from enjoying the experience.

  Yeah, I've heard that one. And the commercialization of those products is true too.

  The advertisers are wasting their money on me.

  I was new in the org. at that time....with 2 small babies. I remember.

  In Indpls, IN, for several YEARS before 1975, we were being prepared for attack & hiding during the Service Meetings.

  Elders (and I would assume this direction came from the WTBTS) taught us how to conduct Book Study Meeting in secrecy. How to gather together without the End Police finding us. How to Street Witness without being put in prison. How to get in contact with the Book Study Conductor for secret information on where we were to gather.

  We used to have "campaigns" with big brochures during that time. It was strongly stressed each time - "this may very well be the last time our neighbors get the chance to choose life."

  Sisters talked about what kind of food to have on hand.......without hoarding - because hoarding would show a lack of faith in Jehovah. Sisters were also cautioned not to lose too much weight - because we might need that body fat. Sisters were also caustioned not to get too heavy.....might not stand up to the "fleeing" part.

  I knew several brothers who held onto any word, phrase by the CO to indicate accurate timing of events. "ONLY MONTHS LEFT" was one of the more famous ones.

  Elder over in Florence, SC, sold his business, his house - everything - to pioneer. He did. After he found out the world didn't end.........he started another business, bought another house....and is still a jw. Fool.

  Btw, the locals around here have bought into what the WTBTS said......"SOME brothers moved ahead of the Society."

  Ain't no way..........the direction was from the WTBTS - they know their followers. They trained them.

  After 22 years I've found my brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  my brother went to bethel as a teenager and was disfellowshipped and sent home.

  he tried to toe the line and after 6 months the local congregation recommended reinstatement.

  bethel didn't like that idea.

  If the WTBTS hadn't forced the issue.........there would be no reason for a reunion.......families would stay together!
