  never thought about the above point.........thanks again to the quicker/better thinkers than myself.

  The symbols of wine & bread were passed and partaken by Jesus disciples as expressions of salvation through Christ's death.

  If jw believes in Christ....but refuses to partake, that person is then stating that they can get into Paradise without the benefit of Christ - and is refusing the Christ in favor of the WT organization. Thus, looking to the Watchtower Corp. for their own personal salvation.

  Watchtower = The Antichrist - insisting (by example & teaching) that their followers refuse to accept the symbols given by Jesus.

  Watchtower = The Antichrist also be applying the scripture "But Lord, where else can we go? You have the teachings of everlasting life." to themselves and not to Jesus (to whom the disciples were answering.)

  Watchtower = The Antichrist also because they state in writing that the WT is "God's Only Channel to Mankind" instead of Jesus.

  Of course, all this is only relevent if one's interested in the Watchtower, Jesus, & the Bible. And, of course, jw's are taught that there *were* many anti-christs in the first century. Don't believe they've come out with a teaching showing the continuing of anti-christs. Too dangerous for them?

  over at channelc, you can find evidence of one of the valued reasons for having circuit assemblies.. they get to lie and deceive - away from the prying eyes of the public.. apparently, a brother novak informed the crowd that phil.

  2: 9-11 - in which "every knee shall bend" to christ.

  How true........blasphamy - and conducting business as a True Antichrist should. Insert yourself where the Christ is (according to the Bible).

  Good point about the District Conventions - always a Bethel brother to make sure it's *just so." lol - and keep the "hate speech" to a minimum in public. More watered down propaganda. Like the Watchtower mags.

  But Circuit Assemblies? Akin to when the CO comes to the congregations....easier to bring forth true feelings, true lies, true hate, true false teachings, inuendos easier to discern. Strong propaganda & slogans.

  Reminds me of the ol' saying my mom used to drill in my head about our violent, dysfunctional, family: "What goes on in these four walls stays in these four walls."

  lol - too bad for the Watchtower. They're finding out that their dirty secrets within their walls are oozing out. Poisonous vipers....just as the scriptures foretold, eh?

  aw hell amazing - you'll outlive a lot of us.....being righteously indignant with lots of information does that to people - makes 'em live longer.

  (and I might add - that was a friendly elbow, sweetie.)

  Congratulations on a Job Well Done! I don't hold my temper well..........so I'm *amazed* when reading somebody else has accomplished what I can't do (which is all too often btw.)

  Hi Blondie!

  Thanks for the update - another source just emailed me about this meeting. They can't go due to business concerns, but are extremely well informed on the WT & their cover-up of child abusers. They were strongly encouraging me to go - said it looked like a great meeting.

  I'll go over and check out the news letter. Bill was a speaker at the Cult Seminar in California last year. Excellent speaking qualities - very interesting & informative.

  I'll look forward to meeting the other speakers also.

  And it would be a Great Pleasure to meet you & your husband! Your lack of further lurking is a major staying power for *some* posters here.

  Wellllllllllllllllllllll, HEY y'all! (I've been in South Car-ro-Liiiiii-naa for 22 yrs now)

  If you haven't seen the movie "Hoosiers" - go get it. Great movie - particularily if you remember the basketball Sectionals at that Indpls Butler? college campus. Such memories!

  I lived (along with Patio) close to Arlington St. on southside of Washington Street. Before Scecina, we attended Our Lady of Lourdes grade school.

  In 1969, I started attending Irvington Cong. The Kleins were a great family, so were the Needhams. Remember the Staileys? They moved to the Eastgate congr. in late 70's. Florence Sparks studied with me.........but I don't hold a grudge- she's a fabulous woman, along with her husband, Don.

  Mary Whalin & her daughters? Such good memories! Barb & Steve Jackson?

  Ah well..............some have left, some still "Blinded by the Light" - (insert approp. old rock song tune - Hilliary Step will know)

  I left there to attend Kokomo cong. Ugh! Awful! Some good people - but the Elders In Power controlled with a heavy hand. Reeeeeeeeeeeeal heavy. Couple of confirmed child molesters in that congregation.

  Then to Frankfort, IN cong. - Doyle Coonrod being another Very Good Man. He finally stepped down as an elder & told me later "They never told us when we accepted the position, it was going to be all these decades. We figured a couple of years.....being that the New System was right around the corner."

  Don't miss the Blizzards! But miss the beautiful fall foliage...................

  I have a question: What is the difference between her and a JW?

  This woman's stupidity caused the death of a child. She is now charged with murder. Yet, stupidity with a religious twist, even to the extent of death, has been successfully defended in court. I have never heard of a JW charged with the murder of their child. The only difference between her and a JW, is that her stupidity is not hiding behind the shield of religion.

  And one more: Why didn't the doctors get a court order like they would in the case of a terminally ill JW child? -running man

  Great post - thanks, running man. If women refuse to help their children live.............then what reasons are acceptable? Why is an obscure religion's erroneous belief (JW's) ok (and who decides that btw).............but this woman was not? And I definitely agree she was totally wrong....but I believe that about JW's also, but they're allowed to refuse what medical treatment they have for themselves & their children. And why no court order by the hospitals involved? Btw, my daughter just delivered a wonderful boy after a long day of labor, and then a c-section, 5 days ago. Both mother & child are doing marvelously well. She said *if* she had to have this happen again (baby) - she was just going to schedule a c-section next time.

  Nooooooooooo, I didn't give counsel in the Ministry School. I'm a woman, thus not good enough. But I sure can speaka the talk, eh?

  I came in the WT organization about '71. In approx. '75, I was talking with a couple who were in NY a couple of years prior to that. His younger sister in Ind. had caught fire & the doctors wanted to do tissue transplants. Of course, the parents called the son in Bethel to get the most "up to date Current Light" on the organ transplant situation. Even though it wasn't released information to the general R&F, they were told secretly to go ahead with the transplants....which they did.

  Being a young adult convert, I was confused, but tossed it aside........right along with my other reasoning powers.

  I'm so sorry that your beloved family got caught in the middle of the WT lies & deceptions. Barb Anderson made the observation once that those high up in Brooklyn think the jw locals are quite simple. What an insult to us. We weren't simple........

  we were quite simply brainwashed/programed/swindled.

  Thanks for bringing that article here - it's a great one.....and the WT is pathetic, as usual, with their responses.

  WTS defiance in face of abuse accusations

  check out the official jw-media site and find their 'official' response to the accusations of child abuse within its organisation.. they simply feature this quote:.

  "people didn't have the body of knowledge 18 or 20 years ago to say that this is something that will harm your child emotionally, if you don't address it.

  parents didn't know the seriousness ... and the long-term effects.".

  Your poor mother. Somehow, some way, it's usually the mother's fault - particularily when dealing with a group of men governed by social viewpoints of the 40's-50's. ie: The Watchtower Society

  • The woman wanted to be raped.
  • The mother knew "somehow" - as she is The Mother.
  • The girl was "asking for it."
  • Did you see how she was dressed?
  • If the mother had given the father his sexual "due" - then he wouldn't have HAD to turn to his daughter for "relief."

  lol - there's probably more of those nearly universal believed lies of former generations. Damned shame the WTBTS still teaches them to their followers. Btw, mothers can know sometimes, turn a deaf ear, blind eye, brutal hit, to the child also. Just because there's a mother, doesn't make them totally right or wrong.....just human.

  Ran into a former jw the other day - who made the right choice when her daughter was abused by her husband (step father). She called a social worker for guidance - who referred her to the proper police authority.....then called the elders. One elder wouldn't even talk to her about it - said he was "sick of" hearing all this type of filth.

  He gave her the number of another elder - who immediately asked "who have you talked to?" "Well, the police, of course." He was furious, telling her that the elders "could have handled this within the congregation - but now it was too late."

  "Faith without knowledge" is worthless. The local jw's faith in the WT has no actual knowledge behind that faith. Sometimes I can't grasp the idea that I was part of that worthless corporation for 30 years.

  Well.......HEY Sad Case!

  lol - many of us can say "been there. done that."

  It's been raining all day long here! I'm in usually sunny South Carolina - and we're just not used to this kinda crap!

  I've been reading Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series. Just finished the 3rd - diving into the 4th. Fabulous! (5 books in the series so far.)
