How do we protect the abuser?

so many of you keep posting in this forum that we protect the abuser not the abused.

is this true?

I'm a jw sister of 30 yrs, currently in good standing, but inactive. My daughter was abused by a jw brother (who had 5 children of his own). She didn't tell me about it until approx. 10 yrs later. I notified the elders in that congregation. Strangely enough, the man's only daughter had just written them a highly detailed letter describing years of incestuous sex with her father, starting when she was a young girl. No, she didn't initiate it.

But, you see, the problem was that there were TWO Witnesses.........but of DIFFERENT sexual acts.......so therefore, in the logic of the WTBTS........there weren't two witnesses. The man's "worldly wife" called the elders, said if they came on her property and breathed the word "child molester" - she'd sue them for slander (they had scheduled a meeting with him).

The elders called the WTBTS, the society said "back off" - they did. The man who molested my daughter and screwed his own daugher for years remained a "faithful brother" until his death decades later. I'm guessing he died a "sexually fullfilled" molester as many grandchildren paraded through his home.

Btw, you're right, children can lie.......they do it often, just like adults. But sexual child abuse IS a common problem - and the WTBTS has over 20,000 of them in their files. Do your research - clicks have been given you. "Make The Truth Your Own."

you are never taught to discern or analyze what you read.

There's been some GREAT research done on the lack of evidence (even lies) for the JW Blood Doctrine.

BLONDIE! What the heck is the name of the Canadian poster who's so brilliant at research & works for the Canadian Gov't? Duhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Anyway, THAT poster, along with Maximus (who's also brilliant) did wonderful research to prove that the JW Blood Doctrine is *smoke & mirrors* - and jw's are willing to die so that the WTBTS will be able to point to those dead JW's and say "See? We ARE different."

And, of course, there's Blondie here, who's also brilliant.

My child's abuser tickles and plays with children after meetings.

yep..........that's what a sister told me today on the phone.. i emailed her because she is in the pedo's congregation and knows the family of the toddler i saw the pedo with.

i needed information and i knew she would be happy to speak to me.. after the initial pleasantries and chit chat, after her telling me how the convention talks brought out that the borg needs to be realistic with it's expectations of children, after expressing joy at my family's happiness since leaving the borg...................i asked her about the brother who's child was being pushed by the pedophile.

when she told me there are 2 kids in the family, a boy and a girl (a perfect package for the pedo), she asked me 'why all the questions?

I just read through your topic history & found your reply to me on the circumstances of this man's abuse of your son. Thank you for concise explanation.

Congratulations on protecting and supporting your son.......some parents don't, whether jw's or not.

I'm sure you've received a gazillion "If I were you.........." so here's another.

Put your plea to the elders in the child molester's KH in WRITING - send Certified, Return Receipt. In that plea, also write the elders that you're sending this information to the TV editors for follow-up. lol - bet the WTBTS will soon know about the situation.
And that you're also sending it to the parents of the children he's so touchy with.
Perhaps also to Family Services, and to the Police. Send ALL copies Certified/Return Receipt. It IS proof of notification (at least in usa).
You might check with a lawyer about sending the child molester a stop letter too, but not telling the molester that you've contacted all the above (slander?). But tell him there's a damned good reason you're sending your letter Certified/Return Receipt.....proof that others know.
Whatthehell, send a copy to the WTBTS too.......they luvvvvvv the Certified/Return Receipt ones.
If ANY of the above play ignorant later, particularily if/when he molests another child......you can then slam them with "WHY didn't you DO anything LAST TIME? Here's PROOF that you were put on notice."

Phone calls are more expedient......but absolutely no proof for later on. It's amazing how elders say "Well, I certainly don't remember you saying that." Been there, done that. Now I have my receipts too...all nice and tidy.

i am discussing this subject with a friend who believes this and who uses the passage in col 1 vs.15-17 as 'proof'.

he also uses john 8 v 58. it is of course a question of greek interpretation.

is there anyone out there who is a reliable greek scholar who could verify what these verses really say?

Today I saw my child's sexual abuser..........and the feelinds start.

today has not been too good.

yesterday, while i was in sydney for the day with a friend (to have a break and do a girlie shopping day)..............i received a phone call from my brother to inform me that a very special cousin of mine in italy had committed suicide.

i was devastated, she was so special and we had been close.. so here i was driving back from sydney last night knowing a loved one was dead!

Unless this child molester was actually found guilty by courts.......if you go public, you may endanger yourself to a liable/slander law suit. Be very careful.

If he's actually been convicted, then slam away. If not, caution is an absolute necessity for you.

A question for those recruited as adults

i remember who my husband was before we were recruited,you know what i mean, his humor,his daringness.

i am sure i changed also but only to an extent because i had to many doughts.

as i quickley ran from the cult ,i could sit back and see the person that i married into the person that the watchtower created.

Yes, I think MANY persons change when becoming jw's. Some good, some bad, some just trading badness for a new badness.

The ones who can't change enough? Well, I think they're the ones with migranes, constant stomach problems, depression, etc. The WTBTS tells them it's the pressure of "This ol' system of things" and the jw's buy that.

But I've come to believe in our family, after exiting, it was the pressure of mind control by the WTBTS, as many of our physical problems just "went away" after leaving the cult.

And yes, parents can be beaters/killers/molesters whether in or out of the WTBTS. Mine were atheist & Catholic.........and cruel.

My heart goes out to all the responders. Child molesters cause SO much pain & anger.

When it happened to my own child (and I found out 10 yrs later) - I was dumbfounded. My younger brother. After a day or so - I called his wife, as they have 3 children. Children MUST come first. It was a hard call as my brother was horribly abused by my father.....and I feel he was relaying some of his anger on my daughter.

Anyway, the wife already knew, but she talked with him. He knew I was calling back, and he was there next time. I honestly think he was so ashamed. We talked for a long time, both crying, and he offered to call my daughter; but she refused. Too confusing at the time. My brother & I have never spoken to each other since that phone call. I don't believe he's ever contacted my sister either (that's our entire family, btw).

Interestingly enough, my brother has NO memory of my father. It never occurred to him that he didn't until my phone call.....because then he went to visit a therapist. I don't think my brother's a routine child molester......perhaps just a very hurt, traumatized young man lashing out. For his kids' sake, I hope so.

Child molesters hurt more than kids. Whole families are destroyed sometimes.

MAKE THE CALL.........and if you know the couple he was with......CALL THE PARENTS.

I'm so sorry to read (just clicked onto this thread) about your physical problems. But it sounds as if you're taking the lead with your doctors to figure out the best course for you. Congratulations on being active.....not proactive.

Patio is my sister, and went through chemo, etc., for cancer 'bout 5 yrs ago. She's fiestier now than she was before (if that's possible.) I know different diseases account for major differences in how to treat the body.....but if you haven't been in contact with her (she's so busy with her Social Life) - please do - fabulous one to talk with.
