  CNN mentions Jehovah's Witnesses Today

  i have been watching the news on cnn and happened to notice the news flashing across the bottom mentioning the state of ohio banning door to door work and jehovah's witnesses!

  has anyone seen this?

  as of 6:02 pm last night i received a facsimile from paul hoeffel at the un on the wts.. he gave me 3 of the 4 things i requested in two paragraphs.. i have sent a scanned version to steve bates and someone else.. i sent it to kent and randy.

  and kent and randy have posted the official united nations letter on their web sites.. here is the letter - put your cursor on the image and then right click on your mouse and hit "save image" to your computer.. .

  after you look at kent's web site and you people still think this it is a fake letter, phone paul hoeffel yourself at (212) 963-8070.. hawk

  Wannahelp didn't make it to the UN today..

  Was getting ready to leave, was gonna take the train in from New Haven, CT to Grand Central in NY..

  As I was getting ready to leave for New Haven to catch the train, on the news I saw that an office building in downtown New Haven close to the Train Station had been evacuated because of a 'suspicous substance' in a letter that had been opened..

  So, instead of heading down towards all the hysteria to catch a train, I decided to delay my UN trip until later in the week..

  .. Gotta love the terrorists.. They certainly know how to ruin a good trip to visit the beast <ROFL>...

  now that we can prove that the wtbts have been in bed with the un for the last 10 years, we need to work out how we are going to use that information.. i intend to use it sparingly but with deadly effect.. it's simple.

  i am going to show the articles to my jw relatives and then i am going to ask them if they feel that an organisation that does these things is also qualified to (a) decide who is or isn't a suitable person for jw's to associate with, and (b) do they still truist this organisation to make other major decisions on their behalf ie with regard to having a blood transfusion?.

  i know that the initial reaction will be hostile and one of disbelief, but in my experience this is just the sort of thing that will simmer away in a dubs subconscious mind for many months before he / she will even admit to themselves that all is not well at brooklyn.

  I recently read a book on how to effectivly witness to JW's..

  The premise of the book is that you must teach the JW to 'think' for himself.. Once you do that, they can begin to see the organization is not from god, but ruled by men..

  You do this by asking them questions that they cannot answer, specifically about the organization itself.. All JW's are trained in "bible warfare".. But the JW's are not trained to defend the organization.. That just isn't something they've ever considered before, so if you question the organization, it will require them to think about an answer..

  The book said even if you get a garbage answer, the fact is that you are training them to think..

  The book also stated that it usually takes 3 good doubghts in the mind of a witness before the 'veil' comes off, and they can see the organization for what it is..

  The book concludes that this alone is not enough, however. At this point you have to show them that there is something better out there for them...

  So, I think both of you are right..

  If a JW can see this information and disregaurd it without creating even the slighest doubght, then the JW isn't ready to have the 'veil' removed..

  If it puts a chink in their armor, then the information served it's purpose..

  If it's the final straw, then all the better..

  But, regaurdless of either, I think it is just as important that we don't lose sight of the fact that this information should be in the hands of the average person (non-jw), so, along with the pedophile and other instances, the average person can be warned of what danger can happen..

  I believe in my heart that JW's believe they are following god, even though we know they are not.. They are being led astray by the 'men' in Brooklyn.. Even if the information doesn't get people to leave the organization in mass numbers, maybe the information in some way can be used to protect others from joining the organization..

  While trying to help our loved ones out, we should also be trying to help the general public from ever being sucked in in the first place..

  A New Breed Of JW Emerging?

  is there a new breed of jw emerging, i wonder?.

  i know that there are lots of real brainwashed dubs around who see demons behind every car boot sale item and who scuttle off to the elders with every bit of tittle-tattle imaginable, but, i think that there is a new type of dub who quietly does just as he / she pleases.. this is what i think: many of the long-serving jw's who have seen the 1975 failure and the 1914 generation change are now approaching old age with something of a jaundiced eye, and are choosing to do their own thing in their remaining years.

  in conversations i am picking up it seems that the elders are being regarded somewhat derisively by many jw's.

  Nope,

  But it is interesting to find all these "challenges" to the secular authoritites that they are supposed to be in subjection too..

  I guess Jehovah had stood up and told them that whatever the secular authoritites were doing in these instances was obviously against his will..

  Nov 15 Watchtower article regarding Hypocrisy

  i started reading the november 15th watchtower this mroning.. you guys really have to read it.. on page 21 there is an article entitled, "how do you handle hypocrisy?".

  in light of all of the things that have transpired during the last month and a half concerning all of the talk about the wt and their involvement with the united nations, i read it right away.

  one of the paragraphs has a statement that reads: first, we must learn to identify hypocrites.

  What is significant about 9/11?

  many jws have become excited by the events of 9/11 in the u.s., thinking that this is a definite sign of the imminent end of the system.

  we have seen online jws talking about how these awful events were "prophecied in the bible" and how this is proof that armageddon is near.

  we have heard reports of local jws saying the same things, including many of our family members.

  I think the reason ex-witnesses are returning is quite simple..

  They still have that "fear" gene programmed into them and it hasn't quite been extinguished yet.. So, "fear" drives them back, because as you said, as a witness you are 'trained' to interpret every little bang as the 'signs of the times' indicating the start of Armageddon..

  What needs to be done is somehow to deprogram the ex-witnesses to lose their 'fear' completely.. After all, it's the fear that is keeping them slaves to men, even as ex-witnesses!!!
