How do individual JW's justify Jehovah's Old Testament orders to kill little children even babies (amalekites, canaanites)?

in 1. samuel 15:2-3 we read jehovah's order to kill "all" amalekites.

it says "you are to put them to death, man as well as woman, child as well as infant...".

in deuteronomy 2:32-34 the israelites say about sihon.

JW's are obviously fine with chidren and babies being killed

since this is what they teach their own children will become of them

if they do not stay in the "organization" and obey the "governing body"

Its their main message. China has 33% more young menin their twenties

and of marriageable age than young women, because of the long standing

policy to abort any child that is not male. Apparently nobody did the math.

This has also happened in India due to ultrasounds available and sex-based

abortions, whole villages without any girls. Others just neglect and abuse children.

Ostracism more damaging than bullying

Shunning is ugly and abusive. I agree sparrowdown. Thats why you

have to get out of the range of the abusers and go find new people

or your world will be like a prison or a nightmare. You have to leave

to save yourself and your mental health and find new community.

Going back to meetings, while being shunned has led to suicides.

He said it himself - I am sure they are darling people - wonderful friends-

good parents - kind hearted - and are you sure I have never done anything to help

anyone ? I could make a you tube video, I am fairly verbose and opinionated,

I think you mean fool-proof , which is kind of amusing,

since they need all the fools they can get. What you are seeing,

friendaroonie, in those Halls, is people frozen, in lock-step repetitive

lives who cannot see how to change there own destiny or make any

creative or original decisions or take actions that would lead to freedom,

because freedom terrifies them. They are convinced their safety is in

staying the same and repeating the same rituals they have always performed.

The best defense for people who are shunned is to really start

working on creating community in your life. Be where people are.

Do the things you enjoy in groups. There are so many positive groups

you can get involved in. If you are at a loss start with meetups

http://www.meetup.com there are groups for all reasons, just go and

socialize and be hospitable with neighbors and good people you find

along the way, re-create yourself, don't just sit there, isolated and feeling

blue and alone, there are always other people out there who would enjoy

you company. You can meet people in groups that; hike, bike, like computers,

do art projects, sewing groups, travel groups, business start up groups,

have brunch together, writing , "Just Write"is one , there's a group

called 'Drinkers with a Cycling Problem', and Kayakers and paddlers of Dragon Boats,

So don't your past bad treatment at the hands of others, define your life.

that is a prime example of invalidation.. sometimes this forum, as well as others, can be a mixed bag of validation and invalidation..

Cofty - I apologize - a generalization based on comments I read from born-ins.

But of course you are right - born-ins could be the most "hooked" of all and delicate

fragile minds to unravel from the web of the Borg. We need to tread carefully

and it takes restraint to try to see things from their point of view and find the

crack in the wall they have built up, that will let some enlightenment shine in,

and lead them to liberty and peace.

I am with desirousofchange, they ramble and are disjointed,

he has often been drinking and they just muddle up the issues

and seem like two mal-contents who have no life other than just rambling

on and on and on and on ......really... really.... boring.

Its disorganized and irrelevant and not very informative.

I guess if you know them, its like a chat, or extremely long boring,

monologue or lecture or conversation where you can't get a word in edgewise.

I have had evenings like that, where I just want to find a reason to leave,

or kill myself.

social networks have made it possible for people to have more so-called friends than ever before.

what would you say is the most important quality of a true friend?

I was so blind, and naive and I was old enough to know better.

I actually introduced a roommate of mine to the WT cult.

They turned her into someone unrecognizable as a person.

She is now a complete basket case, and her health is destroyed.

I feel badly I was the one who led her in, and now she is beyond

my reach. She is paranoid, and fearful and to think I thought at

one point she was my best friend. She was the first one to tell

people I was an apostate. Friendship is an unknown concept in the WT.

i think she is a hypocrite and i bet she sells her invites to fornicators, or does she ask them if they are having sex before marrige, before she takes their money?.

i was never like this when i was a jw, it's even more disturbing that she is going to ask her elders what to do.
