I think in a couple of years the Society’s going to realize what a lot have already figured out. That, like the generation, the great tribulation applies to Jerusalem and her destruction. In a few years you’ll know this all officially when the Watchtower reveals it to you as new light. In the meantime, stop fretting and get on with your life.

Hey Ralph!
Just happened to meet a local elder here and he gave me this same end stuff that’s worrying you. He must of counted 20 minutes with me. Recited all the old stuff, leaving out the WT badcalls and then adding a new one - the Anglo-American pact against terrorism. Has a good ring to it I thought. Should get a lot of tired witnesses cracking! Told me there was just one verse left to be fulfilled. Didn’t elaborate on which verse and I didn’t bother to ask.
Reminded me of years back when we were all spouting the one verse left dogma, after the attack of the King of the North died out. The verse was Peace and Security.

As we « studied » the Revelation book for the 2+ time, we read the word-by-word commentary of the Watchtower.... Then we were asked a question on the verse, to give us the impression that, yes, we were actually reasoning. Then we read the Watchtower answer back to the conductor. Then we were rewarded for reciting the Watchtower view with a commendation of something like, very good, excellent comment etc. We all felt great ! Imagine, we had the divine privilege of thoroughly understanding this mysterious book.
Probably reminds you of your 4 years of « Bible » « study » ... yes ?
As we got into nitty-gritty details that all applied to the Watchtower Soc. it seemed more and more absurd that the Almighty God would have compiled a mysterious and symbolic book, only to have it all apply to tracts and assemblies and resolutions.
Taking into consideration the Bible verse comprehension track record of the Watchtower Soc. over the years, makes it seem even more ridiculous for the Watchtower to even attempt a possible explanation of the book of Revelation. But then that’s part of the problem.
the Watchtower’s attitude :
absolutely no humility... brings on other traits like
refusing to admit they have erred ... quite a feat when you claim you are not infallible and are proved wrong over and over again!
The Watchtower refuses to take responsibility for anything, while demanding complete control (example below).
Here is a set of instructions duly noted by all elders attending the 1994 elders course. Bear in mind the elders are instructed to follow the Society’s direction to the letter. You will note the Watchtower will not take any responsibility
Six Expressions That Should Not Be Used on S77 and S79 Forms:
1. Anything alluding to or naming one of the Society's attorneys
2. Any mention of the Legal Department
3. Any comments referring to direction from the Society
4. Any comments mentioning anyone other than the committee itself as a possible influence in the decision reached
5. Any comments that might suggest to someone with a critical eye that the committee did not reach its decision on its own but, instead, somehow yielded to the influence of an outside party
6. Any comments indicating that the elders mishandled the case or committed any error in the investigation or the judicial committee process.

A few last pointers :
Be prepared to turn off your brain and put on the Watchtower head mold. Individual thought and opinion is prohibited.
Ask your questions now. After baptism question are not tolerated.
If you do join, keep your « worldly friends » and stay close to your family. Don’t alienate them with « the Truth » Hope they’ll be there for you if you bail out one day.
good luck! oops... can't say that. I guess it would be JW acceptable to wish you: be fortunate!

Phoned my parents to propose a visit this weekend but it won’t be convenient - Dad is off to elder school - He’s 82
Lollylou: know where you're coming from as an elder's kid and elder's wife's husband
To Freddy : my suspicions are confirmed, now I know you're a neglected and unsupervised elder’s child, but we love you !

Then we hear about how sad it is to lose elders who have children under reproof.

'Order of Special Full-Time Servants'?????
by ISP ineven to witnesses the title given to bethelites is surprising!.
*** yb99 27 highlights of the past year ***.
at present, 17,781 in bethel families around the earth render service as members of the order of special full-time servants.. most would think the wts was free of religious 'orders' and the like.

A special pion. told me some years ago that all full-timers on the Soc. payroll must join the religious order and take a vow of poverty. All taxation forms are filled out by bethel and returned to the person for signature.
Apparently everyone received a form letter telling them from now on this was procedure.
I guess the G.B. realized the Catholic Church had something going there.

The G.B. consider themselves to be the great shepherd, but don’t want to hear any sheep b-a-a-hing.
A D.O summed up their attitude when he reminisced about a brother who had stubbornly held to his own understanding about the resurrection of the people of Sodom and ended up df’d. He added, «If he’d only waited patiently for the slave to clarify the question, in the end he was headed in the right direction. Unfortunately he chose to run ahead of the organization.»
Many laughed when the generation article came out. It was no great revelation, a lot of the sheep had realized something was fishy years before. But everyone had to wait till the f & d slave got caught up.
Bill, I think you can expect an article on pedophiles and procedure in a few years. Then they can proclaim THEY have decided to better protect the sheep.
Sadly the sheep seem to see more clearly than the shepherd. I think the shepherd class need to get down of their barstools and crawl around on all fours for awhile. Maybe then they would better understanding of what life is all about.

Open Letter To The Governing Body
by Outaservice indear brothers,.
i've been under the opinion that we jehovah's witnesses are famous for preaching this good news of the kingdom.
after all, matthew 24:14 is our scripture and every cover of the watchtower says 'announcing jehovah's kingdom'.. i decided to take a survey to prove this point.

A brother who believes JW’s belong to a superior race asked the question in a restaurant here. Just so happened the waiter had a JW neighbor who was a real asshole, screaming and fighting with his wife all the time. The brother spent 20 mins. trying to explain that this moron was the exception. Didn’t get around to Matt. 24 :14. Hahaha !
JW’s - no better no worse than anyone on the planet.

Thanks Vic,
I ask myself :
If a memorial wall was constructed for all the WT victims, how many names would there be ? How many would visit to grieve ? I believe the numbers would be astounding. So many injured for life. So many lost to the cause.
Each one here could name many.
It should be done. It could be done
