  most articles in the publications recommended physical punishment, (corporal) when disciplining children.

  the scripture says that "he will not die" if you beat him.

  so many parents literally beat their children.

  YES!! I should have given them a break and not flogged them on Sunday. One day off was not too much to ask. Really though, I look back and am ashamed that I did not give them more latitude. The only good thing about taking them out the back was that you missed some of the meeting. Sorry kids!

  interesting point that the district overseer seemed to make a distinction between the governing body and the faithful and discreet slave class.

  This question (and answer) will be covered in this months written review. Basically, the FDS is all the annointed as a group while individually, they make up the domestics. The entire group feed themselves as individuals. It was not until 1919 did Jesus give them authority over 'all his possessions' (the other sheep). It is a pity that 'all his possessions' were not identified untill the mid '30's. Go figure!!

  could someone please have a look and perhaps post a picture from the nov 8th awake.

  i have been told that the picture was taken during a convention and a young person is giving the 'finger' at the time the photo was snapped.

  i do not have access to the mag but it would be interesting to see if something like that was allowed to slip through.

  i just saw on the 6.00 o'clock news that peter brock is racing in bathurst this weekend.

  i had heard ages ago that he had become a dub.

  surely the wts would 'tut 'tut at him engaging in such a "dangerous worldly activity" as motor racing?

  I doubt that Peter (Perfect) Brock is a witness. I remember being told that he was baptised, at about 6 different assembly/conventions. he was recently on TV saying that a magnetic device that mysteriously made cars drive better. This caused him much drama a number of years ago. If he was 'in' I don't think he would be back at Bathurst.

  this is not a question about "the racket".....(the one that knorr made the aussie jws apologise to jehovah about)....but its about the sentence that is printed on the copyright page on all ww2 aussie watchtower books that were printed when they were banned.. .

  the sentence goes (something like) "printed by barry gibb, whose usual abode is (???

  )" (can't remember the exact address but it was a few doors down from the old aussie bethel at strathfield.).
