he even proves all his points by cherry picking known modern scholars who will back him up!

Thinking of becoming a JW - Need urgent honest advice!!!

i have never been interested or really ever been around any religion in my life so all of this right now is very fascinating to me.
i have been thinking of studying to become one but am also having a hard time finding anything on the net that is positive about it.

If this man stays in the Cult DO NOT MARRY HIM, if you have children he will see indoctrinating the children it as necessary to there "eternal life". In doing so HE WILL follow a pattern of behaviors, "encouraged" by the Cult, which WILL include LYING to you on a regular basis and cause severe emotional damage to your children. I urge you to research this Organization paying particular attention to the interpersonal relationships between people involved in this dangerous high control cult.

this website is having an impact
by dothemath inhello.........this is a first for me- i've been reading some of your messages for some time now, and i must say you guys study your watchtower far better than i ever did.
i'm still a part of the congregation (and an elder), but i have to say i agree with many of your criticisms of the organization.
we've become just like the pharisees that jesus condemned............at our last assembly, the do and co warned against apostate material over and over again..........so i certainly think you're having a tremendous impact on their actions.

if a man should truly refuse to subject themselves to the State's jurisdiction, he is put in lockup.
if a man truly refuse to subject themselves to WT jurisdiction, the WT will not let him play with there toys or there boys any more.
not quite the same to someone who does not like the way the WT plays.

by LovesDubs ini hope you all remember me...a few months back i wrote and said that my husband who is a jw...a very passive agressive jw...told me i was satan's minion and that my literature on the shelf had demons that were attacking his jw literature and he moved all of his literature to our bedroom floor.
he also said that my activities online were going directly against jehovah and that it was destroying our marriage.
being as we have three young kids, and he wasnt going to meetings much anyway...i decided it would be a small thing for me to give up my online persona and remove my literature to save the marriage.

being from MA i thought i would offer my thoughts.
I think we should do away with all civil marriages and replace it with civil unions for all. a marriage is a religious union that the state licenses, maby the state should never have done that in the first place. a man and a wife can be married in the eyes of any church and joined in civil union in the eyes of the state with out conflict. everyone is happy.

Circuit overseer "rips them a new one"
by Mulan inmy jw buddy just called me with some "fun" news.
they had the co last week, and of course dave and i were part of the elder's meeting agenda.
my friend has just had a conversation with one of the elders, who told her about it because it involved her.

Hi Mulan,
things worked out well for you but you know what he was saying was not about you at all it was about who will control the congregation.
It seems the CO agrees with the last comment, and said "these 4 sisters had the audacity to photograph her car to try and make trouble for this sister who is doing nothing wrong". Then he launched into an attack on the elders for allowing these 4 women to try and control the congregation. We knew exactly which 4 women it is too. This elder told her not to worry anymore about this situation and that Dave and I are to be viewed as INACTIVE only, and that the CO told them that "this problem is OVER now, and there is to be a local needs part asap." I can't wait to hear about that.
Then he launched into an attack on the elders for allowing these 4 women to try and control the congregation.
I'm sorry to say, if it had been 4 men you would be so fuc*ed right now.

There is a lot of talk about active JWs and the "cause" on JWD of late. it seems to me, a new place for exiting JWs might be called for, but changing JWD to meet the need is not the answer. there are needs being met here with what we have. the WT has taken so much from us and i for one say on more.
