The World cup is NOT important. very few Americans can stand the dam game. I'd rather watch my toenails grow.

Jesus and Buddha
by Bhagavad inthere's a possibility that jesus went to india and was influenced by hinduism/buddhism during the "lost years" between his ages of 12 and 30. see the site http://www.atributetohinduism.com/hinduisms_influence.htm.
fascinating info to review.
if it's worth considering, then we might ask: .

Bhagavad,
I was a Buddhist before I became a Christian. I can't say Jesus met Buddhist monks but I can tell you this, Jesus taught what Buddhists taught. It might be a case of truth being truth, or it may be that Jesus used some Buddhist techniques in his teaching. after all there are only so many ways to teach what is beyond the cage of our language and experience.
Explaining color to the blind is not impossible only very difficult, it's better to open eyes. In either case there is a finite number of techniques you can use.
I can't accept assurances that the lord of me the God of me was ignorant of Buddha or anything for that matter. In fact if I thought Jesus was ignorant of anything I wouldn't be a Christian now.

The Wisest Man Who Ever Lived
by comforter inthere have been many sages who walked the face of the earth.
the wisest man who ever lived, however, is jesus christ.
jesus made an impact on history that very few men have matched.

If Jesus was the wisest man:
Why did he form a church that was to fell under satins rule in well under 400 years?
Why did he allow this "satins church" to compile and declare inspired the Christian book?
Why did he let so many years slip past without a his visible org. On earth?
Why did he wait 1914 years only to return invisibly to, I don't know who, telling them, I don't know what except, you guys are the only ones doing it right?
Why did he tell the WT they were right then make them change everything?
Why didn't the WT publish a complete eye witness account of the return?
Why did john tell us to make strait the way of the lord, when the lord himself forces his only channel to man to bounce back and forth like a ship fighting against the wind of truth?
Why would Christ's wisdom, as taught by the spirit directed WT, shift like quicksand under our feet?

JW's in hell?
by Preston inwhat do you think, if there is a hell, do you think jw's are going.
i know (because of my lifestyle) if there is a hell i have a good chance of going, although the idea of spending an eternity with god's supposed people doesn't sound too thrilling, in which case i better practice a life of celibacy.
i don't know what brought this post up, my friend just played me a clip from a south park episode where all the devout chrisitians go to hell, including jehovah's witnesses, and all the good mormons get spared (kinda funny in a strange sort of way).

MY brother: "do you believe in hell?"
Me: "what is hell?"
bro: "you now like dainties inferno."
Me: "wasn't that written as fiction?"
Bro.: "yes"
Me: "Why would I believe fiction was truth?"
bro: "some do"
Me: "i know, what do you say hell is?"
Bro: "hell is the pit, hell is being totally destroyed."
Me: "isn't that what you tolled me happens to everyone who dies?"
bro: "yes that's what happens"
Me: "No, I don't believe in hell. Why does every witness go to hell?"
Bro: "well, we will be resurrected in the new system."
me: " that's cool, you'll all be resurrected from hell, but why go in the first place?" -

WHY THE PRESENT CRISIS IS UNIQUE
by You Know inthanx for your perspective yk.
often i've tried to explain the last days....but i'm not very good at self-expression.. i have a great fear for mankind.
we are so cruel to each other.

Its important because the underlying foundation of the apostasy among Jehovahs Witnesses is based upon the premise that there is nothing out of the ordinary in our day that would indicate that we are living in the foretold last days.
NOT!
the underlying foundation of the apostasy among JWs is based upon the knowledge that the WTB&TS is just another pyramid scam totalitarian cult that destroys lives and serves no purpose other then the accumulation of funds.Haven't you been reading the posts You_know?

A bit of advice please
by SpiceItUp inok.... heres the scenario:.
you make plans with a "friend" on a project that will benefit you both..including something that may help you out in the long run as well.. your "friend" screws you over in a completly different respect...but one that cannot be ignored.
they show no remorse for the harm they have done either.. do you not proceed with the prearranged project on matters of principal because they may in turn screw you on that as well not to mention you really don't care to be around them at all.....or do you take your chance that they won't and keep your deal.. what would you pick.....matter of principal or contract?.

What would you pick.....matter of principal or contract?
if your perspective partner has shown you a lack of principals in a previous dealing accompanied by a lack of remorse, I would look on the act as an expression of his/her morality, rather then a single incident or a laps in his/her principals. If you have reservations about committing your funds to a project involving this person, I could only say that you mustn't Comit yourself, or let your friend force you in to a situation were you can be manipulated into a contract. -

Pending Tragedy for the WTS and JWs
by Lee Elder inpending tragedy for the wts and jws.
the heavy-handed tactics of the leaders of the watchtower society have begun to bear rotten fruit.
i suspect that it is just a matter of time before the need arises to coin some phrase to describe disfellowshipped or disassociated jehovah's witnesses who bomb conventions, shoot up kingdom halls or even attack bethel facilities.. leaders of the wts (and local elders) should stop and think about the lessons to be learned from columbine high school, the postal service (i.e.

dustrabbit,
I'm sorry she did that to you, I wish people didn't do shitty things to each other like that.
Is that were you found your freedom or did freedom come later when you desired not to take it any more, when you said you are worth more than that, when you said that's not love and that's not for you? I'm shunned by my JW family but I know I can walk out my door and into other good relationships or I can pick up the phone and call people who care about me. my point is that there are others who can fill the void and give hope to people who step to the edge of violence and sanity.I don't think what we find in resentment and hate is freedom.
