Minimus,
Yes. I'm from New York. I do listen to WBLS sometimes, but I don't know remember his name.
I'm going to try and find out. I'll let you know.

"real one" is a christian on this site and gets involved in many debates with athiests.
on my thread "jesus was just a man" he said:"non-beleivers will see jesus one day and you will not be happy.
" on my trinity thread:".....oh his {gods} existence is established.
Witness 007,
I agree with you. And all religions are cults anyway, and they more or less have the same effect on those who are involved in them.
The "religious" woman in the movie "The Mist" was an excellent example of the cultish, mind controlling, bull$hit, that religion puts on people. In that movie, she pronounced judgement on everyone else, but she is the one who was executed.

When I was an elder, and we had our elder's meeting to decide who would give the memorial talk (If we had no guest speaker),
my conscience would never allow me to volunteer to give the talk because deep down inside, I had questions about the whole 'Jesus sacrificed his life for our sins' thing.
Of course, since being out of the borg, I know why I felt that way.
Meaningless ritual.

we decided to go to the memorial on saturday, here in palm beach county where we live.
it was at 9:00 est.. when we arrived the kh was almost full.
people were congregating like it was a party and taking pics.
Ronin 1,
Funny story. Its more indication to me that the rank & file are just mindlessly
doing it because they have been told to do it. They have no real desire for this
ritual. No passion. No mind of their own.
Borg in the true sense.

a (conditional) friend sent me some notes from the talk in hawaii.
gerrit was the keynote speaker.
this occurred 'immediately after the tribulation of those days' (matthew 24:29), referring to the destruction of babylon the great.
ยท " There will be an international statement or situation where people will cry out 'Peace and Security' ( 1/15/03 Watchtower). This has not yet occurred. We don't know if it will be a desire for peace or a belief that peace has been achieved."
When Gerald Ford became US President way back in the 1970's after the Nixon Watergate Scandal, one of the first things he cried out was this statement: "Peace and Security". This was on the front cover of every major newspaper.
I remember this statement as it was featured on the news channels also. It expressed a desire for peace as well as a belief that peace had been achieved.
This occurred at the same time as our wt convention here in New York at Aqueduct Race Track. The first speaker at the convention on the day this statement was made held up a copy of the headline and said" Did you see this mornings paper?! He then went on to rile everyone up about the so-called end of the world. In fact, the wt society continued to use that very statement as a prediction based on the scripture in Thessalonians.
That was over 30 years ago since that "Prominent" cry of peace and security and no end of the world has come.
So Gerrit Losch is wrong by saying that such a cry "has not yetoccurred". And again, no "end of the world", has come.
god and the "holy spirit" just keep on making mistakes.
The borg is a joke.

the other thread (opposite in nature) is really touching and i enjoyed reading everyone's experiences.
i saw a few people who were still in share how scared they were of that outcome, so i thought positive stories of how you managed to save your marriage while leaving the organization might be nice.
so, what is your story?
I have always been glad to hear of couples whose marriage did not break up
because of a husband or wife realizing the Honest truth about the wt organization.
And as Ronin 1 knows, my experience is the opposite. 6 months after I stopped attending meetings,
I came home one day, and my wife had left me without warning or discussion. Her things were gone, some of our
possessions were gone, and I did not see her again until divorce court 3 years later.
Thats okay though, because after we got married, she turned out to be a pompous a$$ pioneer, full of pride,
who thought she was above everyone else.
Thats the way it is sometimes.
As an FYI, Ronin 1 is my sister. . Hey Ronin 1 !!!!

now that we are past the reject jesus party, many of us have those big boasting sessions (the one-day) and great boasting sessions (the two day) ahead.
these are a bigger waste of time, since they take the whole day (or two days) instead of just the evening.. then, there is the grand boasting session (three days) during summer.
some will be starting in late may, when children are still in school.
Hi WT Wizard,
The last "Grand Boasting Session" I went to was also in 2001 at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale Long Island New York.
I was there for one day with another ex-jw who drove all the way from Pennsylvania. We were there as protesters with large signs that
exposed the wt UN Scandal, the Pedophile Scandal, and their False Prophecies Scams. He and I were there all day.
My first experience as an "apostate" in public. Loved every minute of it.
Interestingly, a good number of jdumbs actually came up to us and asked us what it was all about and
we had conversations with them where they at least listened.
I felt more refreshed that day than from any convention in the 39 years of being a part of the borg.

so, the people in my congo expended hours and hours distributing the invitations, but the attendance was the same as always (actually a little less than other years).
how about your congo?

happy easter sunday!!
so nice to have holidays!
on cable t.v the've been having non stop jesus documentaries which are better then anything from the watchtower society!
Thats right. Jesus was just a man who died. He did try to teach people
that they did not need any leaders, religious or otherwise, and he did try to help free
them from the bondage of their bicameral thinking. But thats all.
He was no god. He was no son of a god. Just a man.
The religions that have been built around him are frauds designed to
keep people in fear and make them think that they need priests, pastors, ministers,
popes etc.
Jesus was just a man. Who died. And was not resurrected.
Worf
ummm, hi, no!!!.
how do you get around that question without lying???
i want to get some people out of this org while i'm still in but don't want to lie either....
NO !
