  GOOD!!!! They are getting what they deserve!!!!
  And just as has been mentioned, some of the remaining jdubyas will probably say that apostates lied about it when they don't see the WT listed as an NGO anymore, but there will probably be some who did see it and will begin to question things a little more and/or leave.

  But whatever the effect on those inside the borg, if we flip the script on this we can see a fact that continues to present itself throughout all of the deceptions that the WT puts out there:
  Their own writings within their own publications are one of the most powerful things that can be used to bring them down.This situation with the UN proves that.So thanks to Hawkaw and any others who used these things to open the eyes of the UN. And lets continue to do it.
  There is no doubt in my mind that for any one of us who wants to see the WT go down completely (And I am one who wants to see this happen), if we continue to use their own writings against them, this will help that to happen.

  BTW the special meeting in NYC was held at Nassau Coliseum this past Sunday and myself and another former JW went there with signs and we picketed the meeting. This was a lot of fun.We did it in the morning when they were going in and in the afternoon when they were leaving.We stood right at the gate of the coliseum so that all the cars going in would have a clear view.Many slowed down to read the entire message on our signs.Many who were walking slowed their pace to read the signs. My sign said: "Watchtower Society now supports the UN since 1991 212-963-6842. And then underneath that my sign said: Watchtower Society also harbors pedophiles www.silentlambs.org.
  My companions sign said :Shame on the Jehovahs Witnesses-In bed with the UN www.un.org 212-963-6842.
  We stayed there from 8 am to about 3:30 pm.
  People were actually showing interest in the signs message.One bro even stopped to talk to us to the chagrin of many onlookers. A number of sisters even stopped to ask us directions for the bus. Wow!!!! Asking apostates directions???? Could be a dfing offense in the next elders manual.:) :)
  Anyway I even showed the bro who stopped to talk to us the 11/15/01 WT article where they criticize the UN in the study article and told him this was hypocritical in light of the info on our signs.All I can say is that he listened and even shook our hands. We Loved it!!!!
  I would like to applaud my companion because he drove 2 hours from another state to be there to protest the WTS. I live only 20 min-30 min from the coliseum. So I would really like to commend him for his efforts.
  Lets keep up the enlightenment!!!!

  Leaving or not

  the thread about people leaving has made me think of the 7 years i have been on the net and participated in various witness and ex-witness e-mail groups or discussion boards.. in these years i have seen many a person, which for various reasons come and go from such forums.

  there are of course as many opinions as there are people and in such diverse groups there will always be debates about every conceivable subject there is.

  people who come out of the watchtower society seems as a group particularly ill equipped to deal with disagreements and strong debates but of course some more than others.

  a side of relief for me but angry for what happened after the announcement of my disfellowship from the wts.

  i urged my mother not to attend because of the emotional trauma and agony you experience.

  she's diabetics and any emotional let down can cause her serious problems.

  on my way to a bus this a.m., i happened upon a mother and two sons (i think) doing streetwork with their magazines.

  the oldest son(he appeared to be about 15 years old) approached me and began his presentation with the 8/01 wt and its companion awake mag.. as i listened to him, i couldnt help but notice that there was no joy nor excitement in his voice.

  it was just a rehearsed presentation delivered in a monotone way.. how could the "troof that leads to eternal life" motivate someone so little when telling others about it?

  Yeah Booze I remember.But I guess that was because "The End" was not yet but it was "coming soon" and we were so strongly under the cult mind control and it was us against the world and we just "knew" the Creator was behind the org and we were doing the "work" he had assigned us to do and we were just so happy, happy, happy.

  Bill, great effort, great work.The child molesting touched my family too but the family member involved unfortunately does not seem to want to pursue anything though she lives in C.A. where they recently amended the law so you can go after a molester from even years back.
  Max, thanks for the news about the elders you know.I told my sister and she laughed gratefully.I find that bit of news especially interesting.

  Any interest in a meeting in the Northeast?

  would anyone be up for some sort of cookout / barbeque sort of thing somewhere in the northeast in the next few weeks, perhaps around labor day?

  being in providence, just about anywhere from ncy to boston would work for me.

  we could drink beer, make smores, and tell stories.
