For those of you that are disfellowshipped, How Far Would Your Faithfull JW Family Go To Stay Loyal to The WT?
by John Aquila inive seen jw parents shun their disfellowshipped children for 20-30 years.
ive seen parents remove disfellowshipped or fader children from wills and give the inheritance to the watchtower..
if your country got run over by some form of government like the nazi regime and started a process of eliminating any groups or individuals who it considered a threat.

Is shunning an expression of love or just a place for the shunner to hide?
by cha ching into three people in my family, disfellowshipping / shunning is just a tool the wtbs uses to hide what really happened.... they don't want people to 'see behind the curtain.'.

Dissociative Identity Disorder and Therapy
by writerpen injust wondering if anyone has experience with this or knows an x-jw who has been diagnosed.
after years of trying to un-do everything through countless therapies, it appears this has been the problem all along.
i sit with my new psychologist, an expert in dissociative disorders, and she has all the jw lingo down, which tells me she's treated other x-jw's.

Blood cases heard in what type of court?
by writerpen ini'll be revisiting my hometown in october and would like to see if i can obtain access to court records from my parent's case refusing blood for my then-5-year-old sister.
does anyone know what type of court this would be in: district, circuit, etc.?
also, with her age being 5, will that pose a problem in getting access to the files?

** Asking the Hard Questions **
by FlyingHighNow ini picked up the holy trinity episcopal church june newsletter today.
this was included on page 5. i was raised in the episcopal church until the summer of 1970, when my mother moved us to atlanta after her divorce from my dad.
she stopped taking us to church, much to my detriment.

Married my partner...
by writerpen inwe just got back from san francisco where we were married last week.
maybe some day gay couples won't have to travel 1,000 miles to get married, and their commitment of love will be recognized by society.
there will be no need to use code - my friend, my roommate - at the office, with neighbors, or with family when speaking about the person with whom you live your life.

Looking for blood clip....
by writerpen ini'm writing a nonfiction piece about my sister who was diagnosed with leukemia when she was five.
i'm doing research on the electronic wt library, but i thought i'd pose this question to the board.
i recall as a child hearing that parents should pick their children up and run out of a hospital with them before allowing a blood transfusion.

Being told what to say in Convention interviews
by passwordprotected inhas anyone else heard tell of interviewees in convention parts being told what to say?
the way i've heard it is you're contacted to be interviewed in a convention talk because you've had a great experience in some form or other and they need you to boast about it.
so, you meet with the brother handling the assignment and you go through your experience with him (boast about it).

Gas my A$$
by writerpen inthey only reason they have put this big change on the cost of fuel is so that they can easily come back in a year or two - just when they think this wasn't such a good idea and they're losing even more control - and say that, "well, fuel isn't as expensive now, so let's start meeting again for the book study.
