  What should I do?

  this isn't jw related, but i was hoping to get some feedback on a problem that i'm having.. here's the deal.

  yesterday my downstairs neighbor told the maintenance man that she want to shoot us (my family).

  i've known for about 2 years that she has some mental problems and was somehow focused on us, but i didn't realize to what extent.. two years ago, around christmas, we came home from somewhere and saw 2 christmas cards laying on the rug outside our door.

  I would not take any chances. I would talk to the landlord about the threat and the police too. Schizophrenia runs on my father's side of the family, and they are very messed up when they don't take their medication. Crazy people snap and then after everyone is dead, they plead insanity.

  Also, I have always lived downstairs in apartment buildings simply because I don't want to disturb anyone. I ignore what noise I hear and have never let it bother me. So I don't think that is the problem. Her mental illness is, and I wouldn't take chances with the life of your family members. If she had not made the threat to the maintenance man, I would feel differently about going to the police, but the threat was made.

  wild turkey and i love to sit around and talk about all the crazy things we hear some have done while they were witnesses in their local kingdom halls.

  we are the type who love to laugh and have a good time.

  we pulled many antics ourselves at our hall.

  During assemblies I would go to my car and sleep. And I mean SLEEP. For two hours or more - whatever it took to consume the assembly session. Looking back, I wonder why I even went, especially since I was single and living on my own. Right before the last song, I would run in the convention facility and sing along with everyone like I had been there all along. It was after that when I started reading in the literature and hearing in talks at the KH reports of the "friends" being found asleep in their cars during assemblies/conventions. I guess more than myself had gotten TIRED of all the BS that spewed forth at those conventions.

  Where to liquidate WT library?

  after some yrs, i've acquired quite a library of wt publications, as have many of you all i'm sure.

  how did you rid yourself of them after you felt you no longer wanted anything wt related?

  amazon, ebay, local book store, sell them back to brothers, burn them at apostate party, other...?.

  One evening around 6:00 p.m. I got up from taking a nap and just decided, "hey, I'm going to throw all the books and crap away." I loaded all of it except the 1999 WT CDROM into my little car (I didn't pack anything in boxes - just carried the books in stacks to the car) and drove it over to the trash dumpster in my apartment complex. I was feeling on top of the world because I was letting it all go. Then after about the third trip to the dumpster with a stack of bound volumes, I looked in a different direction and noticed a car full of Witnesses sitting there watching me. I got nervous, but was determined to keep up the trashing of the literature. Afterward, I felt good that I did now allow their presence to keep me from moving on with this important step, that ultimately meant moving on with my life. Needless to say the irony of the whole situation was funny.

  What business is the WTBTS in anyway?

  what prompts this question is my personal experience in attempting to obtain wt literature: i tried through my wife, who still attends a meeting or two, to obtain, via special order, two large print bibles (one in a major foreign language) and a concordance.

  it turned out to be a cumbersome process that took a full six months to fill the order!

  i don't know whether my experience is an aberration, but i've heard similar complaints from others regarding the length of time it takes bethel to deliver on the goods in anything but magazine orders.. watchtower bible and tract society?

  It seems deceiving that they would charge the congregations for any literature being that they advertise that it is available at no cost. Are you sure about the congregations having to pay for the books? If so, this is totally new news to me.

  a positive article on jw's in tuesday's edition of the toronto star that appeared to have obvious input and direction from the wt public affairs office left local jw's buzzing and glowing from some positive press for a change.

  in some halls reference to it was made from the platforms.

  i had been working with a therapist for about a year prior to leaving the borg and one of my complaints was that throughout my life i had a recurring dream of blood and guts.

  for example i would be walking down main street where i lived and there would be blood, guts, and body parts everywhere.

  I had been working with a therapist for about a year prior to leaving the Borg and one of my complaints was that throughout my life I had a recurring dream of blood and guts. For example I would be walking down Main Street where I lived and there would be blood, guts, and body parts everywhere. They scared me terribly and would take several days to get over. She said something to the effect of....oh hell I can't remember what she said. But anyway, I noticed about six months ago, 'hey I haven't had one of those dreams in a long while now.' I couldn't figure it out until I just read UglyDuckling's post quoted above. Looking back, these lifelong dreams ceased after leaving the Borg.

  So I'm wondering, did you guys experience the same dreams throughout your life as a Witness? This is like a major breakthrough for me to finally figure out where they were coming from.

  Do wicked spirits prove a creator exists?

  i was in town today and spoke to a woman i knew and to my surprise she told me she was a satanist member,i then discussed things dealing with god,spirit forces,occult etc.this then made me think if theres no god where do these active forces come from,is there really a realm of spirit creatures called demons,she then told me that these forces are very powerful and can harm those who interfere with there operations,also she said they have a vast amount of knowledge at their disposal and can give her information which couldnt be known otherwise.

  but does this prove theres a creator ?

  Okay, why do they tell this stuff anyway? Was she flaunting this fact about herself? The reason I ask is because I just moved into a neighborhood and everyone new that I meet asks, "Have you met the lesbian Witch that lives out here?" Evidently, when she introduces herself, she says "Hi I'm Cherrie and I'm a lesbian Witch." I can't understand why she introduces herself this way. At least that is what everyone is telling me that she says when she meets a new person. I don't say, "Hi I'm Tara, and I'm a straight fallen JW." So I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to say when she introduces herself to me. Any ideas?

  Ever lie on your service reports?

  did anybody out there lie on their service reports that they maintained the 'national average' when in reality you got .005 hours of service in any given month?

  i magically always used to always get "10" hours out in service, while nobody ever saw me at the groups, no one ever caught on, or seemed not to -- maybe they just didn't give a shit.. i always lied so i could keep my microphone 'privelidges' -- that being, the privelidge to walk around at the back of the hall giving my deflated ass a break from those awful chairs they had.

  Why lie for just the national average? If you are going to lie, make it a good one. So I put down between 40-50 hours for six months when I was getting only .001.

  i've gone hog wild and volunteered for everything trying to make up for all the years that i couldn't do anything as a female in the kh.

  anyway, last night i stirred the shit in one of the meetings by voicing my opinion on how something in the church is run.

I've gone hog wild and volunteered for everything trying to make up for all the years that I couldn't do anything as a female in the KH. Anyway, last night I stirred the shit in one of the meetings by voicing my opinion on how something in the church is run. So now I've been summonsed to dinner with the priest tonight to "discuss some things." Maybe I should have remained "silent" as a woman in the church. LOL. God I'm having so much fun. If only the elders could see me now.

  Do you love people more now that you're out?

  i was thinking about this the other day.

  since i've left the borg, i find myself loving other humans more.

  like all the little children being abducted, the miners trapped in the mine last week, the victims of car accidents that i pass on the road, a woman crying in the car next to me while waiting for the green light, the homeless that i see every weekend at a local soup kitchen where i volunteer, etc.

  Do you all of you who answered yes to this think it's ONLY because you left the dubs, or do you think you have just grown as people?

  I think by leaving the dubs, I have grown as a person which includes understanding what it truly means and feels like to love people. As a Witness I was taught that to love someone meant that you knocked on their door, which never really felt like love. As a dub I was never allowed to volunteer for community organizations that help people beyond religion like the fire station, animal shelters, soup kitchens, hospitals, etc. You know, the things that treat people's physicals needs, which when you really start doing that, you see firsthand the pain of life. As a dub, the physical aspect of life was unimportant, and that showed in how often the sick were visited in the Halls I attended, NEVER. As a dub, all I saw was are they a Witness or not! If not, then I try to make them a Witness, and if they don't accept, then they remain like aliens to me (or worldly). joannadandy, i have to honestly say that being out of the borg has allowed me to grow as a person, which has meant that I am truly understanding what it means to love people. I left last August, and I have seen such growth in my life. As a result, one of the primary differences I've noticed from that growth is the love I feel for people now. They are no longer aliens.
