so what do you drink, where and how?.

of course in britian we drink our pints down the pub.. i have to laught when i'm in europe as they only drink tiny glasses of beer , when you ask for their equivalent of a pint they look at you as if you are some nut case.. anyway i usually get through a couple of bottles of wine and several pints of larger a week.i drink most nights but not too much.. is it true that the legal age for alcohol is 21 in the states?.

i remember celabrating my baptism at 17 with a few pints in the pub.

Simon, our micro brews can be tremendous.

OMG YES!! I can't stand the light American beers, either, but WOW - we have some wicked micro-brews here. (Incidently, when not at one, my taste favors Guinness....hmmmmmm....)

We have a local one - 'Willoughby Brewing Company' ( http://www.willoughbybrewing.com/) in an old train station (need setup), that has something - can't remember the name - anyway, a VERY DARK, very thick, lager. 7% alcohol. Now, THAT's a fine beer.

[Soapbox]I'm going to have to recommened mandantory (involuntary)sterilization at birth again. Yup. You need a special permit to have the process undone, and you have to pass a series of tests to prove you are worthy to have kids. And the tests must be taken at yearly intervals.[/Soapbox]

No, seriously though. 90% of "what's wrong with society" (and there really isn't all that much) is people who continue to NOT RAISE THEIR OWN GODDAMN KIDS. It pisses me off to no end.

They aren't artificial plants that you can leave alone and just dust off now and then when you want to impress guests with your 'green thumb'. (No computer games aren't THE PROBLEM, just as TV wasn't THE PROBLEM before then, nor radio or comic books before then - isn't it funny how each and every generation has some "this is what's wrong with todays kids" thing, and it's never the same thing? Wonder why that is....)

who viciously attack the teachings and beliefs of their resigned religion?.

i was thinking of this last night....i have never in my life seen a movement so big as the apostates against jw's..... no other religion has displayed this....usually people just quietly leave and get on with their lives and there is no anomosity...even if they have been wronged by their religion.... but with jw's it's different...it's an all out and out attack on anyone and everyone who has something positive to say.... makes me believe the bible and the jw's even more...being here is setting the doubt in my mind right....

You're mistaken bitterness for frustration. Honestly, although I think most people here have given up on helping you to reason, I still have hope. Perhaps I'm naive, but I still believe that, when presented with overwhelming and undeniable evidence, someone will be able to make a rational decision.

Again, you've admitted the JWs are fallible. You've admitted they have undesirable members. You can see just as plainly as everybody else that EVERY SINGLE PROPHECY THEY'VE MADE HAS FAILED...yet you feel 'your heart' calling you back - acknowledging that god didn't direct you that way.

And, what? The military doesn't harden it's C&C facilities as much as a nuke plant? Uhhh....RIGHT.....

In point of fact, these are the very weapons that the military planned on using to take out enemy nuke plants in the event of a regional war.

Might very well?!?!? That's an understatement! Trust me, a BLU-113 would have *no problem* punching through to the reactor core.

I thought everyone knew that. The danger is in kicking the radioactive material into the air from the bomb's explosion. Very, VERY limited area would thus be affected (the bomb would be going off above the rods, in fact forcing most of the radioactive material down rather than up).

It still would be a mess, and about as widespread an effect as terrorists could possibly hope to accomplish with conventional weapons. (Of course, that is assuming they get a penetrator that big, and the aircraft to deliver it - a Cessna just couldn't carry any bomb big enough)

Everyone else is wrong, we collectively apologize. Forgive us for assuming logic and common sense could reveal anything. We should just have asked what was in VAs heart to begin with, and the whole world would have saved itself a lot of time....

Interesting. Well, what of this individual now? An elder yet? Doesn't it take prayerful consideration and divine guidance to be allowed to be a ministerial servant or elder?

Why, incidently, do you care about the organization at all? I mean, you admit they are fallible. You admit they have undesirable members. What's left? Why not join a baptist church or something? They teach the bible, too, you know. Lot less scandals, to boot.

And, if you feel the need to use that 'joining a religion JUST IN CASE' argument - well, they are more compelling. After all, if the JWs are right, and you don't join them, you just 'sleep' forever. HOWEVER, if the BAPTISTS are right, and you don't join them, YOU BURN IN HELL FOREVER.

Question for those who believe the bible.

a thread started by realist which mentioned the flood and the disappearance of the dinosaurs got me thinking.

since i do not own a bible i had to download one from the internet to check a few things out (my computer is really pissed at me now).

it's been many years since i read the bible but i needed to be accurate in my research to ask my question.

No, sir, since there was NO TRUE RELIGION prior to the JWs, obviously any other example of apostates aren't relevant.

But, WAIT, do I detect the faint traces of a CIRCULAR ARGUMENT? That x-JWs are the most hateful apostates/yet only x-JWs count as 'apostates'???

The typical containment dome is 12 to 15 feet thick, and are designed to withstand a direct hit from aircraft going 550+ miles per hour.

Just FYI, there are a number of bombs in the military inventory that would punch through that fairly easily. No, they are not nuclear. And no, they would not do more damage if dropped in a city - they certainly do not cause nuclear-sized damage. For example, the BLU-113 (GBU-28 -> sled test on 26 February proved that the bomb could penetrate over 20 feet of concrete), BLU-109, and GBU-24. Obviously, the Russians also have corresponding weapons.

However, in order to believe that, you'd have to completely ignore history.

You DO know what a 'protestant' is, right? It's safe to say there are more people who hate the Catholic church in my county of the state of Ohio than there are JW apostates on the planet.

Does that mean...GASP...the Catholic church is the truth?!?!
