i sure hope this is satire, because if it's real, it would be very scary knowing people like this are around.
the dubs are bad enough!.
love, scully.
Jesus would weep tears of joy if He leaned down off His cloud and sniffed up the burning flesh of a witch this Halloween. Wouldn't that ruin Satan's little birthday party! Praise God
Hey...HEY...wait a minute!! That doesn't sound like fun!!!
Anyway, I love that site. I'm a bit fan of satire. Landover Baptist, The Onion (which the regular media manages to quote regularly, too), and SatireWire (which, strangely enough, EVERYONE can tell is satire - I liked their Segway coverage ) are just great sites.

this is a bit long.
but i thought i should share this with you.
if this has been posted before, i appologize.
Yeah, it's been posted before (by me - yesterday).
No, the guy isn't serious, though. It's satire, but easy to confuse considering how most those guys are.
(I mean, really, he linked to the Landover Baptist site - ever been there? One of my co-workers bought a T-Shirt from them - plain grey, and in big block letters on the front it says 'UNSAVED'! LOL!!)

the selling of an energy policy.
april 21, 2002. by al gore.
nashville under the presidency of george w. bush, the.
We have let government get so big, we don't know what all they have been doing.
Although it bothers me quite a bit to admit it, and I certainly would never have when younger, the South was probably right RE: the powers of the state vs Federal government.
I mean, really. Even IF the representatives from, say, Texas, Loisiana, and New Mexico had the best interest of Texans, Loisianans, and New Mexicans in mind when passing laws (instead of, say, their own personal agenda), what good does that do for Alaska?
The problem is that the country is too big for a small group of people sitting on the east coast to make laws that will fairly manage all of it. The agricultural states have VERY different concerns and needs than the industrial states, to show one very obvious conflict.
Short of scrapping the whole thing and starting over, I don't have a fix.
Heh - ain't that the truth. It'll never happen, though. And, since fixing the current system seems to be the only valid option...
Eleminating the IRS and going to a fairer tax would be a start.
Throw in deleting political parties, too. And political advertising of any kind.
When someone goes to vote, they should be made aware of ALL candidates positional on a fairly length list of issues (each candidate can make a booklet that will be freely distributed in which they cannot mention by name or implication any person but themselves). Voters should select from a list of candidates based on that and that alone.
Hell, delete the candidates name from the list, too. You have a booklet from candidates 'A', 'B', 'C', etc. and a voting sheet with the same options.
That, I think, would do wonders for the current system.
(Well, while we are at it, we DO have massive, nationwide networks now with real-time access to data - why not throw the representative system out entirely and have a true democracy instead of a republic?...crap...changing the whole system again....nevermind...)

rumours from norway says that there's a new understanding coming up:.
when the beast (un) is standing on holy ground (israel) the great tribulation will start.. this is only unconfirmed rumours right now, but has anyone heard this already?.
this is very actual now since un is discussing to send peace enforcement troops to israel/palestine - if not george w. sets his foot down in the un security council.
Seems a little (extremely) unlikely, as this would represent another major doctrinal flip-flop (their current position is that modern-day Israel/Judaism has no prophetic significance any more).
I'm actually kind of suprised they shut their doors for the 9-11 catastrophe. Imagine if the aide workers had tried using their buildings for emergency shelters - people getting blood transfusions RIGHT INSIDE THE HQ! A golden opportunity to self-fulfill another prophecy...

greetings, and wow!
did i enter this forum with a biggie.
i've been lurking for quite awhile - with some threads, laughing to tears, and others, reliving those years.
I had come from a background of spiritism and witchcraft before becoming a witness
Not to hijack the thread, but interested in talking about this? I find myself leaning towards skepticism frequently lately, but am curious to hear a disinterested 3rd party's thoughts on spiritism.
My mother used to be a witch before becoming a witness, so she has wonderfully exaggerated tales of demon possesion, etc., and how the witnesses made all this go away. It makes her....uhhh...unreliable...to use as a source [8>] (IE., her current faith requires her to believe she was under demonic influence during that period, so she can't give an objective answer).

(well, we knew that, but....).
however, these propagandists aren't just targeting the young.
take for example apple computers, makers of the popular macintosh line of computers.
But, the site IS still funny:
Dinosaurs are large, reptilian land animals that lived in great abundence over 4000 years ago ("There were giants in the earth in those days" [Gen 6:4]), and were mostly wiped out during the Flood. Contrary to the depictions of them from Hollywood, dinosaurs were herbivorous ("he eateth grass as an ox." [Job 40:15] & "And to every beast of the earth ... wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat" [Gen 1:30]) and lived concurrently and in peace with man. They did not live 65 million years ago, as evolutionists claim, since nothing but God existed then. They were created on the sixth day along with the other land animals (plesiosaurs, pterasaurs and others of their kinds are not strictly speaking dinosaurs, and they were created on the fifth day with the other animals of the water and sky).
Man and dinosaur lived together peacefully around 2000 BC. (Illustration by Peggy Miller)

However, these propagandists aren't just targeting the young. Take for example Apple Computers, makers of the popular Macintosh line of computers. The real operating system hiding under the newest version of the Macintosh operating system (MacOS X) is called... Darwin! That's right, new Macs are based on Darwinism! While they currently don't advertise this fact to consumers, it is well known among the computer elite, who are mostly Atheists and Pagans. Furthermore, the Darwin OS is released under an "Open Source" license, which is just another name for Communism. They try to hide all of this under a facade of shiny, "lickable" buttons, but the truth has finally come out: Apple Computers promote Godless Darwinism and Communism.
Oh, it gets better...

(EDIT: that sarcasm smiley was intentional - I don't actually think he's serious - no one can possibly be THAT crazy, just in case anyone is wondering...)

i'm in anchorage now and it would be cool if any of you are from this area.
i used to live in fairbanks and have wondered about alot of jw's who seemed to live on the 'fence'.
if you are out, let me know!
Mind talking about your area some? What's the average temperature/weather like? What's to do up there? Etc.
(If it's not too much trouble )
The wife and I are looking to move somewhere cooler (we are in Ohio now), and Alaska is on the list of candidate states....we've just never been there ourselves, though...
