  i'm going to a district assembly fri, sat and sun in leeds, uk in hope to understand some of this stuff-my girlfriend is a jw but i am not.. i don't get this 144,000 people thingy-why would only some people get to go to heaven and some stay on earth?

  how are these people selected?.

  walk on the left my brother as people walk on the right that come in the opposite direction-you will get knocked down my brother!!!.

  I seem to recall this was right out, too. For the same reason as oral & anal - because it is 'what homosexuals do' - specifically 'left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed' blahblahblah.

  Seriously. Since 'the natural use of the femle' is apparently limited to participating in missionary sex, everything else is banned - even within the marriage.

  The major point is that 'lust' is wrong, even for your own spouse. Everything must be done with godly, chaste conduct in mind.

  hi guys!!!!.

  as most of you all know, i was going to the district assembly in san francisco, with my parents.. well, i went, and it was interesting.... here it goes....... i left on thursday night.

  Oh, gods, that reminds me...

  One time when we were having our 'family study' (think boring as a meeting, but more so) by bro, who was like 7 at the time IIRC, colored in the breasts of one of the female statues on one of the pages in the trinity brochure.

  OH. MY. GOD. Mom went *totally* off the wall when she saw that. Jumped up, ripped the magazine out of his hand, start screaming about 'How could you be so disgusting' and 'God will hate you for defacing his word' and she was tearing it up....*yikes*

  Uhhh...okay...nuff sharing....

  ring o attendants

  Well, if you were an attendant at a Circuit or Distrinct Assembly, you got to patrol around the building during the assembly. If any 'known' apostates came in, or anyone who seemed like they would cause trouble, you'd get a couple other attendants and form a circle around them so they couldn't get anywhere - the point was to move them towards the door without touching them (so they couldn't sue anyone for physical harassment).

  Hence, the "Ring O' Attendants".

  Wow - that's cool. She's hot AND plays online. *sigh* {shakes fist in ai----

  Diablo kind of acts like an RPG from what I understand. Little more combat-heavy than NWN is said to be, and the combat is a LOT faster than in NWN.

  You'd probably like Morrowind, actually. Absolutely HUGE world to explore, and the graphics are very impressive.

  LOL @ MrMoe. Sorry, never played D&D. Not too long ago bought 'Morrowind', which is a PC game RPG. That was my very fist role-playing game of ANY kind, thank you very much.

  (It *IS* spiffy enough, though, which is why I'm looking at NWN)

  Wait, didn't they have 'new light' recently that redefined 'the rocks' to mean any acknowledgement of anything they teach by someone not a member? (For example, every time hollywood put what the JWs believe to be god's name in a flick, they all get worked up)

  Wouldn't that make producers, directors, and writers members of the 'rock class'?

  Oh, yeah, and that being the first and the last thing...but then, halfway through the show, suddenly having his son ALSO be the first and last. That little switch-aroo throws the audience EVERY time!

  (But the audience participation in the lions' den is great - I tell ya, Siegfried and Roy having NOTHING on this guy - you never know until the last minute if the audience member was faithful enough not to be eaten! Boy, what a crack-up that gets!)
