so was that under holy spirit that they were guided to make such a foolish mistake?
*scratches head*
I really hope they didn't know. If, you know, it was a return visit....
a humorous moment just happened on the news.
the news crews were all staking out john mohammeds ex-wifes house where the car was registered.
neighbors said they go around wearing the muslim dress and shit.
so was that under holy spirit that they were guided to make such a foolish mistake?
*scratches head*
I really hope they didn't know. If, you know, it was a return visit....
i am an injured man because they did things to my mind and to my soul.
i can't make it through the day without some kind of medication to keep me going.
its getting worse with age not better.. first they warped my life plan.
It makes me wonder how a WT apologists mind can work.
I mean, it's not just a hobby - they really did take something tangible from us.
How many got teased or beat up in school for acting aloof and singling yourself out? The kids never had to do anything - we singled OURSELVES out!
What of all the missed opportunities?
I'm generally okay with it life now. More or less. I think I've done okay w/ what has happened since. But every now and then...
You know, seeing the kids you went to school with going to law school or finished w/ their bachelors in computer science and going on to work for - and being wanted by - the Microsofts and IBMs of the word....It's very hard sometimes. Stupid things get you down from time to time. I do PC work, and make enough to get by on...but every now and then when I see something I'd dearly love to get and know that I *can't*....
I mean, I liked studying ahead in school. I really loved learning. Just kinda forced off that track. Armegeddon coming, you know...
It's very hard to get back to...and costs a lot more now, too.

some fundamentalists believe halloween is the devil's holiday.so are you doing anything on halloween?
CHRISTIAN, NOT PAGAN, ORIGINS FOR HALLOWEEN
This heading is a misnomer. The origins of it are pagan. That the current celebration has more in common with the christian bastardization of the original sabbat than the pagan celebration of it is irrelevant to the JWs. Their official position is that the fault of the origins of it taint any resulting possible value.
In any case, christian revisionists continue to annoy me by claiming they can celebrate many holidays because they have christian meanings. How nice for them. Just don't go into all kinds of denial about their origins or re-writting history.
Here's a quick hint: if your holiday happens to fall on a solstice, equinox, or 'cross quarter day' every year.....it's origins are probably pre-christian.
this pshycopath has struck again!
it hasn't been confirmed yet, but duh, what do you think!?
12 shootings, 9 people dead, and an extended community living in constant fear.
Yeah, just did a little reading - the .223 makes it harder to track.
Range of 730 yards, to, so...little short of half a mile. Makes the 'vehicle at the scene' reports a little unreliable. 'At the scene of the attack' would be nowhere near the victim.

Generic-ism for a round of the same make as the ones they've found in the victims so far.
I don't actually have any idea what weapon he is using, so the round used is up in the air.
Say it was an M40A1 (of which I know a few details), if someone in the DC area started buying quite a bit of 7.62mm Match Grade ammunition, that'd be suspicious, no?

Someone is going to put two and two together, if they already haven't done so, and report it to the authorities.
My only fear is that he's already dropped out of society. I mean, he had at least to have stockpiled his ammo already - anyone buying sniper rounds in the DC area (or, hell, ANYWHERE) now is going to get a second look and an FBI escort for the next month.
He's not been caught - which, 12 attacks later over several weeks, generally rules out 'crazy'. At least, insane crazy. So, he must be acting on SOME kind of motive and planned this to some level in advance.

Hmmmm....
/me sense a new "'Grown-up Halloween' picture thread"

The ossuary's owner required Lemaire to shield his identity, so the box's location was not revealed. Nor is anything known about its history over the past 19 centuries, one reason for McCarter's caution.
How convenient.
Authentic? I think most likely
Based on what?
Shanks said the owner bought the box about 15 years ago from an Arab antiquities dealer in Jerusalem who said it was unearthed south of the Mount of Olives. The owner never realized its potential importance until Lemaire examined it last spring.
That just reeks of 'hoax'. "The owner never realized its potential" - oh, no, of course not, finding an antique w/ Aramaic writing on it, buried underground followed by 19 centuries of sand over THAT, he certainly never had someone read it right away. Or, maybe he did, and he just didn't know that something like 90% of the population of the most powerful nation on Earth happens to believe that someone named 'Jesus' who was 'James' brother and the son of 'Joseph' was their personal saviour and would pay millions to have this in a museum if it was authentic.
OR....maybe the whole thing is a hoax.

our boys are older so they are not into costumes
You know, I always thought that, too.
But, it occurs to me....Halloween costumes don't HAVE to be all 'kiddy'....

12 shootings, 9 people dead, and an extended community living in constant fear.
CNN initially withheld that information at the request of law enforcement officials, who feared that releasing it could jeopardize the investigation and put the community at risk. However, after several other news organizations reported the information, the officials said they had no objection to CNN reporting it.
You know, this is the second time this has happened. The news media is reckless, and they put more lives in danger with their overzealousness to report a story - ANY story.
This is the type of thing that will cause untold damage to the sniper's inclination to call police, and will open the gates on copycat crimes.
It seems inconceivable to me that they don't have any eye witnesses to this event, especially with the alerted public and increased police presense!
I may have missed the details on what kind of gun was used, but if it was a REAL sniper rifle, like an M40A1, you're talking about a range of a kilometer easy for someone trained on how to use it (self training works, too - I just mean not someone who goes out and picks it up).
As has been noted before, unless he does something 'stupid', or is turned in by friends/family, he will go on quite untouchable by police. And, the media keeping attention on him will only feed the attacks.
