Yerusalyim - per Webster faith is "firm belief in something for which there is NO proof"
Faith is not proof it is a condition of the mind. It is what people without proof use to feel good about their decision to believe in something that they have NO PROOF for.

>That determination was made by the CHURCH as led by the Spirit (so we hope).<
So we hope? Yikes a belief system based on something that unsure? Sorry until someone can show absolute proof that they or what they wrote or what they decided to include in the Bible is inspired you can count me out! lol but I am sure my exlusion isn't going to hurt anyone's feelings

Meeting's..........the best Medicine!!!
by Latte indo you remember those truly wonderful occasions when the meeting was in full swing, and something/one would make you laugh uncontrollably............so much so that you had to go out.
(and yes, your were sat on the front row!
you would go out and feel terribly guilty, and when you thought you were under control, you would venture back in only to find that the air was still full of laughter (on your row)..............truly wonderful meetings!!

There was the sister at one of our halls..from one of the "leading" families...really bitchy stuck up wench...anyway she was giving a talk and had her legs crossed and was swinging her foot with those slip on shoes on...and next thing you know that shoe flung off her foot into the first row...lol..it was PRICELESS!
Oh and once I was giving a presentation on stage when they had first started the donation/contribution whatever the heck you want to call it thing...and when I got to the end I could not get my tongue wrapped about the contribution/donation thing I looked at the "householder" and we both burst out laughing...got the whole congergation going and couldn't finish the presentation...needless to say it was awhile before I was asked to do another
Our last congergation was a really fun one, very easy going with a lot of good people in it...I wanted to thank you for reminding me that there were some good times too......

If You Could Up The Tempo A Little What.......
by Englishman ini understand that for the last couple of decades it has become wt policy for local congregations to sing kingdom songs to recorded music.. now, apart from the awful uniformity and the squishing of individual musical inventiveness, this strikes me as another attempt by the wtbts to numb the publishers mind with banal hawaiian style paradise tunes.
no more an elderly sister treadling an ancient harmonium, bye bye li'l schoolgirl squeakily playing her recorder, ta ta to the teenage guitarist strumming a, g and d to every melody as the congregation gamely sang tunelessly on.. so, just for fun, i was thinking, wouldn't it be hilarious if we could switch the tape / cd / record just as bart simpson switched the church organists music to "in the garden of eden, baby" in a recent programme.. what song would you like to be broadcast over the pa system, bearing in mind that you would only have a few seconds before your efforts at sabotage would be rumbled?.
i've though about it for a while, and i would love to have the venga boys played to the congregation.. the title is, of course, "sex on the beach".

Road rage episode
by Introspection inok.. for those of you who may not know me from previous posts, all i can say is this is unusual for me and please do not judge me as a person for it.
for the other friends who know me by such, please take this into consideration when you read this.
i would like to get some feedback on this, perhaps from some of the folks from the martial arts threat joel started recently, especially if you have also read my other posts.. (hopefully a well balanced combo).

lol I started out wondering if this was just a "man" thing, but then I remembered that I had tailed a couple of people who pissed me off before Never followed them for any length of time, but got on their tail after they cut me off...really scared myself later thinking about what might have happened. But you do get an adrenaline rush at the time, don't you?
In retrospect I don't think it is a good thing to do for obvious safety reasons...now days I tend to laugh off stuff like people cutting me off and shooting me the finger...lol for some reason that tends to upset them more than anything...go figure?

Beth Sarim Revisited 4 Newbies
by Farkel inat 4440 braeburn road, san diego, ca., in the rich and prestigious neighborhood of the kensington heights neighborhood sits one of the biggest embarrassments in the long and continuing list of embarrassments the watchtower society has created for itself.. most dubs know nothing about it, and if it wasnt for a few brief comments about it in the proclaimers book in 1993, even fewer dubs would know anything at all about it.. it is the home once known as beth-sarim (pronounced beth-sareeeem), the house of the princes.. it is a house with a history the society has shown by its historical lack of candor, hopes everyone would forget.
in fact, the society has done just about everything it could do to ensure that its history will be forgotten.
in the first book devoted to discussing the history of jehovahs witnesses, this house and its history is not even mentioned.

Manifest Destiny
by teejay inbin laden is believed to be hiding in afghanistan, communicating his hatred for the united states in a series of fatwas, or religious edicts, faxed to the outside world.. he says american soldiers stationed in his homeland are desecrating muslim holy sites by their very presence and that the united states has turned arab countries into client states tolerant of what he sees as the united states' lopsided support for israel.. "we -- with god's help -- call on every muslim who believes in god and wishes to be rewarded to comply with god's order to kill the americans and plunder their money wherever and whenever they find it," read a fatwa issued in february.. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
many are appalled that one as universally demonized as osama bin laden really believes that he has god's backing.
"god is not on the side of evil, of barbarism, of the brutal massacre of innocents," they say.

The pain and destruction acomplished in "God's" name since the beginning of time is horrific! And yet another reason I don't believe in him...if there truly was a God would he let this continue in HIS name? I would like to think not! And if he would..then why in the would would anyone want to worship him?

"Seek and You Shall Find...."
by Farkel incan one find sunshine when one is only looking for gloomy clouds?.
can happiness be found if one only seeks sadness and anger?.
can joy be found if the seeker is only interested in discovering misery?.

In retrospect now I see just how sad the JW life is...they just exist, waiting and hoping for something better without ever really tasting what life has to offer NOW! Don't get married, have children, go to college, get a great and fulfilling job, have mind blowing sex, experment with other lifestyles, meet new and interesting people just to have good conversation...and a thousand other things put off for what? The possiblity of a "better" life...who knows when? Just so sad to see so many wasted lives....and just so glad I am no longer one of them!
