  Purpose of life

  the ageold question that i'm sure we have all given some degree of thought to...what is the purpose of life?

  anyone have a theory/opinion they would like to share?.

  my personal opinion on this is not solid enough yet to be considered a belief.

  <-----------hanging head in shame....sigh I hate to say this but I agree with Seeker...

  Life is to be lived...enjoyed...experienced...be happy and make others happy...be the best person you can be...what more can you ask of life?

  Oh and Dave men have nipples because women like to have something to play with too!

  Types of People we loved to hate (Love less)

  there are always one or two outstandingly idiotic people in any cogregation.. there is always someone who never gets ill, needs only 3 hours sleep,.

  works fulltime and pioneers and never understands why others arent doing the same .. there always the hall big mouth who says stupid things to people like .

  "you look so much better now with that new haircut , you looked so old/worldly/ugly/fat whatever before".

  Well this isn't near as bad as Sweetone's experience but still ticked me off...

  We had been inactive for a few months and were finally talked into going back to the meetings...first thing this one sister says to me is...wow have you put on weight? I was like...uuuummm no I don't think so...lol she then insisted that I had...and called on others to confirm my increased weight gain...needless to say I missed a few more meetings after that....

  lol oh and then one time when we moved to a new area and went to the hall for the first time an elder commented to us "I hope you aren't going to be a burden on the congergation." We weren't...we just quit going...

  18. you know all four seasons: almost summer, summer, still summer, and christmas.. 19. you know whether another arkansan is from southern, middle, or northern arkansas as soon as they open their mouth.. 20. there is a dairy queen in every town with a population of 1000 or more.. 21. going to wal-mart is a favorite past-time known as "goin wal-martin" or off to "wally world.".

  When we were visiting Ark and wanted to get some Razorback souvenirs my JW mother in law told us that was considered idol worship...lol she called us Pig Worshipers...

  Request for next few days

  hey my friends,.

  throw me some positive thoughts over the next few days.. my job worries are back and my brother called yesterday to say my mother is going downhill more quickly than i imagined.. mitch and i are off to visit her and dad tomorrow.. i had a terrible panic attack last night.

  mitch got a xanax in me in the nick of time and i calmed down and went to sleep.. hope everyone is having a good holiday season.

  Interesting topic Amazing, I am suprised you haven't gotten any other responses yet!

  hhhmmm I didn't have any brothers and my dad didn't become a JW till I was married and out of the house. I married a "liberal" JW man who encouraged me to take an active part in the decision making...well for the most part...after all he was still raised a JW and encouraged by his parents to keep me in my place. I do feel that he lost some respect from the congergation and his family because he did allow me some leeway and respected me as a person. lol I do believe his father felt (and still feels) that I needed a few lessons in humility and wifely obedience.

  As for my place in the Org. I always resented the fact that I was considered a second class citizen. I was never in your face with it, but it simmered inside...to not be allowed to even object to the smallest detail because you were a woman...to not be allowed any responsiblity because you were a woman...to have your thoughts and actions devaluded and demeaned because you were a woman...to be constantly reminded that you weren't as valuable a human being just because you were a women. They try and make women feel better by stressing what a great job they do with the preaching work and then slap them in the face by not even allowing them to make their own arrangements when they were the only ones showing up. At our hall the DO told the MS's and Elders that a conductor had to be assigned by a brother for field service because it wasn't right for a sister to decided who should conduct when they got there and there were not brothers there!

  To see smart women trampled on and made to feel stupid by these overbearing men just kills me...and they do it...why? Because they believe it is what God wants and ultimately they will be rewarded for it. Because they have been told over and over this is the way it is supposed to be.

  I have only been out for about 2 years and honestly I still struggle with this issue...I sometimes have trouble making my own decisions and thinking for myself because I was programed not to...and honestly I can be sensitive to criticism from men at times because I perceiving it as another attempt to keep me down.

  Anyway those are just some of my own thoughts and opinions...and I am sure do not reflect everyone elses...

  I wonder do ExJw men have problems overcoming the mentality of being better than women?
