Well I hadn't intended on posting to this as I really didn't consider it any of my business but since Jerry dragged my name into it....
Smoking pot can be an addiction for some people just like alchohol, just like chocolate, just like coffee....the difference of course is that it is illegal. lol and I have my "issues" with that, but another time and place, huh? Smoking pot on occasion does not make you a stoner or a bad person anymore than having a drink makes you an alcholic or abusive person. Every person is different, every situation is different to reduce everyone who smokes pot to the status of a addict is like the JW's saying EVERYONE who leaves the org is an immoral person and will die.
I don't know these people, I don't know all the aspects of their relationship. It appears to me that he wants her to be something she isn't and maybe doesn't want to be...so unless they can come to some kind of compromise I don't see a future for them, but that is just my OPINION
Wow Jerry I was able to post a coherent thought (I hope anyway) even though I sometimes smoke pot...and look no tears!!!! Imagine that! Will wonders never cease...

Apostate minimum qualifications
by Mum ini was a baptized jw, so now i, to the best of my understanding, am regarded as an apostate by jw's in good standing.. my daughter was never baptized, but she so wants to be an apostate that i have taken pity on her and decided to find out if she qualifies anyway.
she was brought up as a jw.
after i left her dad, she mostly lived with him so that the indoctrination could continue.. she lost her religion anyway, so is there any hope for her to be considered an apostate.

Funny I was speaking with a friend who no longer attends the meetings (but still thinks the JW's have the "truth") and telling her about this board...her perception was that all these apostate Ex JW's on here must have committed immorality..after all isn't that why everyone leaves the "truth"....sssooo according to her an apostate is an immoral person who can't measure up to the JW standards...according to you it is someone who has studied anti JW lit.
Which do you suppose it is? To me it is just a term JW's use to define anyone who is no longer a JW and who disputes their claim to having the "truth". But that is just my opinion
