I've disscussed this WT with a few and they seem totally underwhelmed. It seems that your regular JW knows that the Org just makes it up as they go along but they dont really care as they just want to keep on until the end. These people are already allowing the GB to run their lives. This change is exciting to uberdubs as they can waffle on at length to the average dumb dub about it but your average JW isnt all that interested.

Lot's of talk on the July Watchtower?
by noonehome inso i've heard lots of talk from within about the 'new light' in this watchtower...i'm yet to look at it in any detail.
i'm kind of surprised actually...i first heard about it here before it was even available but close to the time it did come out people started bringing it up - even our co.. some say things like "have you heard about this?
" or "big changes," or "allot of things they said we believed, i didn't realize,"(lots of that) or "brain-overload" or " too much information, but i've never felt more pumped up" or "it's soo exciting to see jehovah's spirit lead his organization..." or "it requires time to sink in, but it's a good feeling!

4 is proud and has no understanding, but rather a weakness for questioning everything and arguing about words. All that can come of this is jealousy, contention, abuse and evil mistrust;
The Diaglott says " distracted about questions and verbal conntentions "
The mentally diseased version seems unique to NWT.

It isnt actually possible to get permission to take some major decisions. You cannot get permission to take a degree etc but if you do how you are treated will depend to a large extent who you are within the organization. In a lot of cases there are those who get to make their own decisions but the rank and file are pushed in certain directions and controlled by guilt imposed on them by others.

i was 'in' solo for years while living with my unbelieving family and i know how it feels to be the only one in your house going to the meeting.
i also respect my husband's decision, and know what it's like to have family try to tear down your beliefs.

WT Society holds EXTREME Responsibility for 1975 and False Expectations
by flipper inhowever- many jw's who have come into the jw organization from like 1985 forward virtually may have no knowledge of the wt society's 1975 debacle and false predictions of the end times or armageddon predictions.
just like in in the book 1984 by george orwell the wt society has a way of not only erasing it's history so no newer witnesses will be aware of their false predictions, but also they are re-writing their history as if those false predictions never happened.. so for those of you here who may have never read or heard of how whipped up into an emotional frenzy witnesses were in the years just before 1975 by the wt society claiming the end was any day now- this threads for you.
to see the pressure that was put on jw's by the wt society to get rid of everything before " armageddon " .

There was a elder in our cong who bought a house out in the countryside in about 73 or 74 and boasted that he would never have to pay for it as the end was coming. When nothing happened he had to move back into town as he couldnt afford to costs involved in keeping the house and running back and forth to meetings etc. He remained an elder though.

The importance of 1975 or was that 1976?

Why, it must have taken Adam quite some time to name all the animals, as he was commissioned to do. Further, it appears from the New World Bible Translation that, even while Adam was naming the animals, other family kinds of living creatures were being created for Adam to designate by name. (Gen. 2:19 footnote d, NW) It was not until after Adam completed this assignment of work that his helpmate Eve was created. Since God created nothing new whatever on the seventh day, Eve must have been created on the sixth day; and this the divine record confirms in its account of the sixth day: “God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.”—Gen. 1:27, NW.
There are two massive problems with this interpretation in the answer to the question from readers.
1. If Adam was to name all the animals he would have had to travel the whole earth (Australia, Madagascar, Galapagos etc) which would have taken one man an eternity.
2.Eve wasn't a new creation, she was another human not some new species so the 6th creative day ends with Adams creation. The whole concept of Adams naming of the animals and Noahs collection of them and redistribution of them are totally implausible.
