  Michael Moore is a complete idiot, has he ever made a movie worth seeing? He is to the movie industry what Louis Fahrikan is to Islam. Michael Moore wouldn't know the truth if it was wedged up his A$$.

  You're suprised this did well in France. First there was his engenioused scheme here in the US to get press claiming Disney screwed him (although he knew a year ago about Disney not letting Marimax carry the film), and where is the Cannes film festival at? oh yeah, France, that bastion of conservativism in europe (can you hear the sarcasm in my voice?), and who goes to Cannes? Oh, that's right, movie industry types and their devotees...and we KNOW the film industry aren't leftists, they're "progressive"

  Why didn't Sadam........?

  going back to the pre-war rhetoric it seemed to me that even the german and russian intelligence along with the english and american intelligence and previous inspectors all agreed that sadam had left over (and possibly made more) chemical wmd.

  proof seemed to be provided about what they *knew* he had at *some point* and it couldn't be accounted for.. it seems obvious now that sadam did, in fact, destroy it long ago.. my question - why didn't he just prove it to the inspectors?

  why not avoid all of this if he could?

  Embargos and sanctions actually have the oppsite effect to those intended (or pretended) - they reinforce the power of the dictator.

  Damn, we actually agree on something. Embargos would work against a country like the US, but not a thrid world country of any shape or size.

  That's because US military action just doesn't seem to ever be acceptable to you. Rather than condemn the US for what MIGHT have happened, we just don't know the facts yet, why not condemn the militants for hiding amongst civilians, which may be the case here, but which we know for a FACT happens. Blame them for dead civilians.

  how would you react if arabs would occupy the US, take away your house, kill your daughter in an air raid and threaten your very existance by trying to make the conditions so bad for you that you have to flee to canada? would you wait and do nothing? i bet you would try to kill as many of them as possible.

  See Realist, the scenario doesn't work, the US is an established nation where as Palestine was a mandate territory. No one took away palestinian houses or killed anyon'es kids or performed any air raids. Up until 1948 the Jews were buying land and converting swamps and deserts into productive farms, building modern cities from the ruins of an ancient an forgotten city, etc. They were doing their best to live in peace beside the Arabs with some exceptions of course. You just don't get it, the Palestinains had their chance, and they chose war...they are reaping the "benefits" of that choice even now.

  Make war on Israel, the Palestinains, with what?

  Well, in 1948 it was with the national armies of five seperate arab nations. And Israel kicked ass without support from anyone else.
