I hate to be the serious one here, but I think I have an answer as to why she cut that guy off. I'm a waitress right now, and before we are allowed on the floor we have to go through a full day of alchol training, in which we are reminded over and over again, that if we allow someone to get drunk and then leave the restaurant,, and they get into an accident, we are the the one who will be named primarily in the lawsuit. Keep in mind that I only make 2.13 an hour,,, and I can be taken for everything I have if I allow some yo yo to drink more than 1 and 1/2 drinks per hour if they are eating and 1 drink per hour if they are eating. Crazy. You have to worry so much about getting sued, that you can't do anythink anymore.

The Two Towers
by Xander injust saw this.. great movie.
not as good as book, but about matches it roughly as good as fellowship matched the book.. gollum is class act - for those worried the little cgi creature wouldn't work, don't be!
he looks great - and the voice acting is dead one.. won't say too much, as spoilers might ruin it for some, but you really, really should see the extended edition dvd of the fellowship before seeing this movie.

Just saw the Two Towers last night, It knocked my socks off! I loved every second of it. If It didn't follow the book perfectly, (which I'm in the process of reading) its okay, they have to do some things for logistics and timing... I know I couldn't do a better job! I can't say enough about that movie.
Me want Legolas... drool, drool. Go away girls!
P.S. I have almost everything written by Terry Goodkind... he's a fantastic fantasy writer.

I'm a huge, gigantic fan of Buffy, my favorite character is Spike, but I don't get television where I live, so for my birthday every year I get the DVD set of the previous season, I have one and two so I"m WAY behind, does anyone know when season three will be released?

I have to agree whole-heartedly with Xena. Being in a religion that supressed all independent thinking, it seems that we'd all be just a little more open-minded to new ideas without throwing them out without even thinking about it first. I don't have an opinion on the first post yet, I don't have enough information yet, but if you think it sounds strange, think about this... there was a god, he decided to make the race of man, so he got some dirt and spit in it and made man. Then he took a rib from this man and made woman. Just stated like that it sounds strange as well. Just a thought.

NO way. I don't believe in ANY organzied religion to worship the creator (whatever that may be)... and even if god came down and told me to.... I still wouldn't because, I'd rather be happy for my short life now, than be miserable forever.

I got an answer from my dad
by Elsewhere infor several months i have been asking my family and the organization what the difference is between someone who "simply leaves the faith" and someone who "went out" (disassociates).. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=39631&site=3 .
today i finally got the answer from my dad on the phone.
according to my dad (an elder), someone who simply leaves the faith is someone who still believes in jehovah and the organization, but does not attend the meetings.

Isn't it sad how many of us here can say with experience they know how you feel. Doesn't help maybe, but you are worth to much to torment yourself. You are the stronger one to get out. Don't forget that, you can't let them drag you down with all the progress you have made.

unitarian universalism first and Jehovahs witness last! My husband who is now a part of this forum since yesterday (yay!) is one that believes in like scientic research to save humankind??? something like that cybernetics or something.... I was suprised how right on the test was, however even more suprised that I think I believed in the secular humanist stuff more. Maybe its because I'm in the south, but I've never heard of these churchs? Have you guys?

Did you ever notice that witnesses are conditioned to have an answer for everything??? If you don't know, I'm sure the bound volumes will give you the answer. Now that I'm out in the big bad world, I've noticed that constantly giving advice or trying to find the answer isn't what most people want. I'm training myself to just listen.. and maybe not have all the answers except a hug or a "well that sure sucks for you" as my husband likes to say. We don't have to fix everything for everyone. wow. I had a light bulb moment. Anyone else relate to this??
