Do any of you suffer from perfectionism? I do and it may be the message that JW's put out there. Growing up in that religion, it's all about doing more, field service, meeting attendance, study, conventions, etc. Now, as an adult, I am realizing that I am having to unlearn that I am loved only by what I do. As it turns out, God loves us because of what he did by dying and shedding his blood. He just wants us to spend time with him and get to know him, not constantly work for him like a slave. A famous saying that I have after doing something, "now do you love me?" He wants us to sit at his feet like Mary did, not work and worry like Martha!

Through a series of events, I joined a Baptist Church. I have new beliefs that I was able to think critically about to conclude and am able to see that we aren't able to really KNOW much, since the bible can lead to speculation. I accept certain things in faith and that we can't know everything and we shouldn't assume we do. -

JW Tattoos

my personal view is that if you were to get one it should mean something.. anyone get a tattoo to remember their jw roots?

Had any weird dreams recently?

then ulrika jonsson (former weather girl, shooting stars captain, and swedish nymphomaniac) gave me a lift home in her car - wtf?!
she kept trying to change the cd whilst trying to drive (reaching on the floor, looking for a cd).

I had a dream I was sharing my faith with my mom and grandma and my mom said something and I told her she sounded like a demon and she came out of the closet where she was hiding and said "that's because I am a demon", and attacked me and I rebuked it in the name of Jesus and it worked!! -

Do you still believe in God?

i might superstitiously have some kind of doubt but digging a bit deeper in my heart i really don't believe in god.
as a human i could never just sit and watch people be tortured, live years of abuse, suffer from illness and disabilities and all the other awful things people have to endure day after day without doing something about it.

I believe in God! I have seen him work in my life. Call it coincidence if you'd like. And, to be trite, if I die believing in a God that didn't exist, I lived with hope, joy, purpose, and adventure. That doesn't seem too bad. Have you read any CS Lewis books? -

Sadly, the original Christian congregation gradually became corrupted. (Acts 20:29; 2 Pet. 2:2, 3; Jude 3, 4) As indicated by Jesus, such apostasy, promoted by “the wicked one,” Satan, would grow and obscure true Christianity until “the conclusion of the system of things.” (Matt. 13:37-43) Then Jehovah would enthrone Jesus as King over the world of mankind. That happened in October 1914, marking the beginning of “the last days” of Satan’s wicked system. (2 Tim. 3:1) Modern-day anointed Christians pointed in advance to October 1914 as a significant date. They based this on Daniel’s prophecy about a large tree that was cut down and would grow again after “seven times.” (Dan. 4:16) Jesus referred to this same period as “the appointed times of the nations” in his prophecy about his future presence and “the conclusion of the system of things.”—Luke 21:24; Matt. 24:3. -

I believe in Jesus. He changed my life. Before I only cared about myself and now I am capable of giving love and thinking of others. The holy spirit is constantly changing my perspective and understanding. God is in my life and when I see how he is working I am always so humbled that he cares for me, though it is written in the bible! All my eggs are in the basket of Jesus. Probably like how all jw eggs are in the gb basket. I trust my basket more. -

the 2 months of donation increase is not enough: the thousands of projects are not a 2 month project.. so: thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you (heh heh heh) and send us more!
personal conclusion: if i had any doubts that the society is sincere, this openly money grabbing has made my perception complete.

I think to an average JW, my mom for instance, this would be further proof the end is near. I believe they have her so scared about the end she would believe anything they say and do. She is so scared that I am not in it anymore, she posts almost daily passive aggressive posts to "come back to Jehovah" and about how exciting it is to be living in these times. Any changes made just draws them closer. I want to cut them off, but some good friends made me realize that they could get some glimmer of truth from me and encouraged me not to give up. It's tough dealing with people in a cult!!
