  My Grandad died this morning

  the last grandparent i had died this morning.. .

  he was such a great guy.

  was in the raf in wwii and went to iraq and other places but didn't really talk much about the war.

  i have been calling my kids for some time now.

  i am moving far away soon, and since i haven't had any contact with my daughters, i called them to let them know i was moving, and would like to say goodbye, before i flew away.

  weeks went by, as ususal, and no response.

  i was sitting here typing a post when i heard the "new message" tone come from my phone.

  i played the message and it was none other than my mom.. "hi, this is mom... i'll talk to you later.

  i wonder why she decided to call.

  how sorry i was to hear from dansk-he is going through a very difficult time.. i would like all prayers, thoughts, please keep this in mind ____ for me!!!!.

  the sad news he has cancer.it is lymphoma!!!

  they are waiting on the results of the biopsy before determining treatment..... he didnt want me to say anything at first- as he feels you all have your own problems & he didnt want to upset anyone-because he says "they are dear friends".

  Great last comment, Avengers - I wouldn't at all be surprised to see this printed as 'gloom and doom' evidence in the Awake. And, all the while, the WT will encourage the R&F to pile into their gas-hogging SUVs, vans, and large, full-sized family autos to peddle their publications...not to mention driving all the extra miles to attend district conventions.

  i was doing research on a certain topic this afternoon at the state library, and ran across a jehovah's witness related article that i would like to share.

  it's from "citrus, sawmills, critters, crackers: life in early lutz and central pasco county" by elizabeth ruiegler macmanus and susan a. macmanus (tampa: university of tampa press, 1998), pages 351-353. lutz is located near tarpon springs, florida.

  the heading of this article is :"importance of schooling.".

  Very, very interesting, Kenneson. I remember when "Faith on the March" came out - they actually sold copies of it at the Kingdom Hall!! From what you posted about Mary MacMillan (his wife) - it sure sounds like he was married even before Knorr - that is if I'm reading the info right...interesting indeed.

  Today is my parents 60th anniversary!!

  today is my parent's 60th anniversary!

  i am so happy and proud for them.

  it takes a lot to make it that long, especially when you have to raise wild kids like me and my sister were.
