Observation by an outsider
by MikeNightHaShev ini notice that because the jw's point out flaws with the churches doctrines and beliefs that instead of fixing or repenting or solving the issues it's easier for church people to form a backlash whether it's honest or falacious in order to displace blame and smokescreen their own inadequacies.. you can not heal yourself by pointing out anothers wounds, you also can not solve your problems by displacing them instead of admiting and addressing them.. if a jw or anyone else points out the problem of abuse in the church then by pointing out an abuse in the jw elders does not solve the issues of the church abuses neither is it repentance as repentance should be.. if you can't discuss the bible and resons why you fall short and trasngress then by bringing up personal issues or attacking each other like jackals does not change those transgressions it just adds more.. as an outsider i must say all of you are like animals on their prey simply because you didn't like being exposed for your false testiments and false practices.
this means your emotional and psychological and spiritual level is far from being grown up.. will you dare persecute me for pointing out such observations?
a spiritually grown person will reflect on what i say, admit to it and try to change, but a child of darkness will feel their ego hurt and group rpide kicks in causing a person not grown to become defensive bitter and mean/perhaps even spiteful.

Is the GB guilty of stumbling christian? matt18:6
by Winston inmatthew 18: 6,7 "if anyone should cause one of these little ones to turn away from his faith in me, it would be better for that man to have a large millstone tied around his neck and be drowned in the deep sea.. how terrible for the world that there are things that make people turn away!
such things will alway happen--but how terrible for the one who causes them.".
has the governing body really been responcible for causing real genuine belevers in jesus christ to stumble the way jesus says at mathew 18?.

personal websites in the JW???
by christina inhi everybody - can you spare a minute and tell me about your personal experiences regaring having a personal webpage as a jw?.
i am working on a school project about jw and the internet and in this connection i interviewed a representative of the society.
i asked him about personal websites and he said explicitly that, "there is nothing stopping individual witnesses from setting up that sort, and we dont say nobody is to have a website and all that kind of, you know that is entirely a matter for the individual to determine".. however, i can't really make that fit with the impression i get from surfing personal websites.

redhorsewoman is absolutely correct:
The WTBTS is doing a PR job when they tell you that it is totally up to the individual. This statement sounds better than the actual truth of the matter, which is that in publications and at assemblies, JWs are constantly warned about the evils of the Internet, and told that individual web pages are neither necessary nor proper. They stress that people should go to the "official" web page and no other.
yet....it amazes me at the conventions how many experiences are related by c.o.'s and d.o.'s about dubs conducting "online" bible studys.
you cant go to the mall, stay home, go shopping at the grocerie store or walk the street without being harrassed by dubs wanting to spawn seeds of "truth" all over you. now its actually encouraged to seek people out on the net, yet...don't look at anything but dubs approved sites.
huuuuuuurl....

it is in my opinion, that they are inded guilty as charged.
and even if their "right" which i'm not saying they are, they have a hell of alot of explaining to do as to what and how they handled things and what they have and havn't done.
i wouldn't want to be in their shoes.

For those that have seen this stuff before, I’m sorry for the redundancy.
But I needed to do this for me. I needed to see it with my own research from the tools provided by the Borg.The word generation receives this many hits:
1995=149 hits
1996=16 hits
1997=67 hits
1998=18 hits
1999=34 hits*** w95 11/1 17 A Time to Keep Awake ***
6 Not only must we pay attention to the inspired prophecies concerning these final days of a wicked system but we must anchor our faith primarily on the precious sacrifice of Christ Jesus and God’s marvelous promises based thereon. (Hebrews 6:17-19; 9:14; 1 Peter 1:18, 19; 2 Peter 1:16-19) Eager to see the end of this evil system,Jehovah’s people have at times speculated about the time when the “great tribulation” would break out, even tying this to calculations of what is the lifetime of a generation since 1914. However, we “bring a heart of wisdom in,” not by speculating about how many years or days make up a generation, but by thinking about how we “count our days” in bringing joyful praise to Jehovah. (Psalm 90:12) Rather than provide a rule for measuring time, the term “generation” as used by Jesus refers principally to contemporary people of a certain historical period, with their identifying characteristics.*** w95 11/1 21 A Time to Keep Awake ***
20 “The time left is reduced,” said the apostle Paul. It is time, therefore, to keep ever awake and busy in Jehovah’s work, as we endure trials and hatreds imposed by a wicked generation of mankind. (1 Corinthians 7:29; Matthew 10:22; 24:13, 14) Let us keep on the watch, observing all the things foretold in the Bible to come upon “this generation.” (Luke 21:31-33) By escaping these things and by standing with divine approval before the Son of man, we may at last attain to the prize of everlasting life.*** w95 11/1 31 Questions From Readers ***
Yes, in the initial fulfillment, “this generation” evidently meant the same as it did at other times—the contemporaneous generation of unbelieving Jews. That “generation” would not pass away without experiencing what Jesus foretold. As Williamson commented, this proved true in the decades leading up to Jerusalem’s destruction, as an eyewitness historian, Josephus, described.
In the second or larger fulfillment, “this generation” would logically also be the contemporaneous people. As the article beginning on page 16 establishes, we need not conclude that Jesus was referring to a set number of years making up a “generation.”*** w95 11/1 31 Questions From Readers ***
On the contrary, two key things can be said about any time implied by “generation.” (1) A generation of people cannot be viewed as a period having a fixed number of years, as is the case with time designations meaning a set number of years (decade or century). (2) The people of a generation live for a relatively brief period, not one of great length.*** w97 6/1 28 Questions From Readers ***
Questions From Readers
“The Watchtower” of November 1, 1995, focused on what Jesus said about “this generation,” as we read at Matthew 24:34. Does this mean that there is some question about whether God’s Kingdom was set up in heaven in 1914?
That discussion in The Watchtower offered no change at all in our fundamental teaching about 1914.*** w97 6/1 28 Questions From Readers ***
So the recent information in The Watchtower about “this generation” did not change our understanding of what occurred in 1914. But it did give us a clearer grasp of Jesus’ use of the term “generation,” helping us to see that his usage was no basis for calculating—counting from 1914—how close to the end we are.Let the reader use discernment.
