there are plenty of psychos out there who have become jw's.how long will it be before someone who has left the org and is mentally unstable is going to get revenge on the society?.
i think the gb should be worried for their lives, if someone gets into bethal with a gun or a bomb they could get blasted to smithereens.. i know it has happened at least twise.a bomb in a kingdom hall in austrailia and i think a fire in korea that killed a lot of witnesses.. but think of how violent the us is compared to a lot of countries and how easy gun accses is there.. it may not be a question of if , but when.

letter i have prepared, but not sent yet.. part of my recovery from the damaged caused from membership in the cult has been to be open and honest as to who i am, was and what i was involved in.. so i gave him the letter to read, and he gave it back today, two weeks later, and said:.
"i told my wife, if they ever come knocking at our door, tell them to leave, and if they won't, call the police".

My story is to long to tell......
by zugzzwan ini am new to this forum but i have for the past several days been reading posts from people that for the first time in 26 years have pasts, memories and feelings like my self.
suffice to say that i too was born and raised in "the truth".
i have at one time or another been, a ms, a vacation pioneer, a regular pioneer, a disfellowship individual, a re-instated individual, publicly reproved, privately reproved and finally for the past 7 years a man who they don't even come on my property cause he's a nut who might shoot you and will at the very least call the police and have you arrested for trespassing individual.. unlike so many others though i find no personal desire to rant or rage against the machine.

zugzzwan, your metaphor about membership in a CD club misses the point absolutely. CD clubs can't wreck your life, cannot put you in an emotional and psychological prison, separate you from your loved ones, and waste a very large portion of what is ultimately a very short life. I really don't believe you've thought this through very completely
Francois........I was born, bred and raised a JW. It took me until I was 34 years old to wake up and another 2 to 3 to kindly but firmly tell my family members that I thought they were full of crap! But hey if you go back and read my post you will see that I stated that for some people the need to write the letter to take off the pressure is necessary. But Francois if you are saying in your post that writing the da letter will save some lives I hate to say that you are seriously deluded. That letter will never see the light of day with the exception of the 3 men who are litterally going to "boot his aszzz" out the door! If nothing else the WTS is adept at burying issues that might even possibly expose them.

I think it would be interesting for you to post your letter! But I have to ask this question........why even bother to write such a letter? Why not just walk away and let it go? I mean ask your self....if you had subscribed to a C.D. mail order company and you decided that you no longer wanted thier services wouldn't you just stop taking them? Would really take the time to sit down and write them a letter explaining your reason for no longer wanting thier service?
Look.....be real about it they are a bunch of nuts! Anybody who gets involved is brainwashed and motivated by guilt, regardless how much they say that thier service is motivated by love for Jehovah. Man just let it go be happy you got away with your sanity. I think that anybody who once was involved with them and now has come to thier senses and decided to become normal but feel it necessary to write a letter is really dealing with further guilt.
Face it....why do you think they want you to write the letter? The reason is because it gives you an opportunity to write it down and get it out of your system. The rational is that by the time you will have slowed down put it in writing on paper you will have cooled off or come to your senses and changed your mind.
In all fairness though if your personality is such that you will have problems in the future ordering them off your property or hanging the phone up on them or....."GASP" even telling them to thier face that you don't ever want them to call you again then yes the letter will take that pressure off of you.
But that is just my opinion. You gotta do what's best for you. -

The first thought that runs through my mind is........Do they really have nothing more important to manage than beards? I mean think about it the WTS is one of the largest land owners in the world, they have millions of dollars worth of technology, they were in many instances light years ahead of industry in printing technology, they had thousands of ant workers bringing in thousands of dollars, why in the world would they care? I mean come on.....as long as the bucks keep coming in!

Unlike so many others though I find no personal desire to rant or rage against the machine. I personally don't care if people are JW's as long as my children and wife are not.
I do not belong to any other religion because after all the years of indoctrination I as others feel that it is impossible to have a relationship with any form of God. However I am glad for one thing about having been raised in "the truth" is the abiding belief that if I'm wrong I won't burn in hell because like they teach I will just be asleep forever.
