i saw this on a tv programme a year or so ago and thought of it today for some reason:.
a wages clerk at a small company was working on the payslips when she noticed a mistake with one of the employees wages.
as it was his day off but the wages had to be paid into the bank that day she decided to ring him up to check on whatever the problem was.. he answers the phone and she says "hi" and starts to explain the problem.. for some reason though, he is amazed and keeps asking how show knew he'd be there !?.

everybody has their own cure for a hangover.
i was talking to a guy last week, and he suggested taking two advil and drinking a glass of milk as soon as you wake up.
somebody else i talked to suggested drinking ginger ale.
Coming from a "former" professional:
1 pint (minimum) whole milk
1 small bag of Frito-Lay plain potato chips
If all goes well, 30 minutes later drink the soft drink of your choice and use it to wash down 1 GOODY powder (I suppose you could substitute any non acetaminophen product---the powder form is the important part.)
You should be as good as new very shortly!
i feel like some fluff tonight.. so, c'mon, tell us all about your.........mobile phone!.
what make is it?.
contract or pay-as-you go?.
I have a Nokia 5165--I had a contract, but it ran out, so I am month to month now with no responsibility contract wise. I have unlimited mobile to mobile (90% of my calls are between me and my husband!) I don't leave home without it since I commute. My husband also commutes, in a totally different direction. Alas, mine does not vibrate, but I could buy a special battery that vibrates. No worries, though, my PAGER vibrates, so I can beep myself over, and over, and over...You get the picture!
well people, this is a big day for me.
not only am i 50 today (ugh) but i am celebrating it.
at least i can say that so far it feels no worse than 49.lol.

im just wondering what kind of work people who post here do.
i believe amazing is a mechanical engineer (like me), xena is an office manager and you know washes windows.
and when youre not working, what does everyone do with their free time now that they dont have to knock on doors when the weekend rolls around.
I am a business office manager for a medical office. And I also work weekends for extra $$$ at a medical facility-- babysitting their office and phones. Neither is hard work, ( I have had to work for a living in the past, and brother, this isn't it!) But I have little to no time for play. I do on the other hand have plenty of time to read posts on this site. And generally consider the W3 my only hobby these days.---Omie
i am sure this question has been posted by someone before ...but it wasn't by me so it doesnt count..lol .
to those that post here do you..... a. consider yourself christian.

I agree totally with you. You do not need an organized religion to know peace. Far from it! That is just the way I have chosen to go. I meet with people who also want to learn. The peace does not come from my association with these people--it comes from a very personal relationship with God. I do not attend church for guidance or to be told how to feel or how to act. I simply go because I enjoy discussing the Bible and am fortunate enough to be involved with a group who feel the same way. We do not all agree on all subjects, I tend to be very liberal while the rest of my congregation in general tends to be more right wing. It's not between me and them--it's between me and HIM. I definitely have my own mind and use it daily! In no way did I mean to say that you had to "join up" and "be led" in order to have that peace. Sorry if I didn't state my opinion clearly enough. -----Omie

I am a Christian. A member of a very small independent missionary Baptist church. We are a very small congregation of bible studiers. No screaming, rolling around, speaking in tongues or foot washing---just studying the bible and feeling God's love---hopefully spreading some of it around. I have no problem with people who do any of the activities listed above, I just have never felt the need for any of it.
One thing that bothers me about this forum is that there are so many of you who have been burned by the JWs so badly, that you have nothing left to believe in. It really saddens me, because the greatest part of being a Christian is the wonderful peaceful feeling that one has. I truly wish that everyone could feel that peace. It is a shame that the JWs have hurt so many to the point that they can't or won't feel at peace again.
Thanks for the opportunity to share my feelings on this subject.

Hello everyone--This is only my second post. I know better than to try and offer help when none of you know me yet. I totally understand. I have been reading on the site for a while now, and know the reasons that you need to take the time to get to know people before you trust them. My only question is-----what the hell does "bttt" mean? I guess it's some kind of secret code!? Thanks for letting me know and be looking out for me. I will be around for a while I think. Love you guys---Omie
does every issue of morality have to be compared with the thinking and teaching of jehovahs witnesses?
simply because you are no longer jehovahs witnesses does that mean that you flaunt all moral authority and engaged in any perverted pleasure that you have a mind to?
because your morality is no longer legislated by a pseudo religious organization does that give you license to engage in all acts of "immorality" and refer to it "as just having fun.
Hi everyone, this is my very first post! I have been visiting the site for a few weeks now since discovering it through a search engine. I am not a JW but have been close to a lot of people in my life who were JWs and Mormons, and have always been fascinated by the strange hold these two organizations can have on people, and have studied both of these groups for a long time.
To give you an outsider's view of finding the picture thread on the site:
I visited the site the first time because it randomly came up on a search. I visited the second time because of the variety of information on the site. I spent one whole afternoon going through the humor section! I thoroughly enjoy the discussions on different JW topics, but also realize that when people get together they like to talk about different things. It did not turn me away because there were OTHER issues going on. If it had been an issue of other topics taking the place of JW discussions, I could see where it might turn someone away.
Every area is well labeled and organized and not easy to accidentally stumble into something you don't want to be a part of. The bottom line is that "simon" whom I assume is in charge, said no and that is the final answer. While I believe in being able to feel free to express one's self, I am also glad that SOMEONE is there watching to keep things down if they get too rowdy.
Thanks to all of you who's posts that I have read and enjoyed. I have laughed with you and cried with you without even knowing who you are. I, for one, want to thank you for exposing your tender areas to the possibility of attack. You are all brave and deserve kudos from all the people out here lurking around.
I don't suppose I will be extremely active in posting, but even if I never post again--rest assured that I am out here listening and watching and sharing your feelings both good and bad. Thanks for teaching me much.---Omie
