Ok, now compare that to this one.

What is most amazing is that this is on the Russian JW website itself. Now, how can that possibly be? I don't know.

i've just been reading an article on the jwmedia site about a study into wt literature that has been ordered by a russian court.. http://www.jw-media.org/newsroom/index.htm?content=/region/europe/russia/english/releases/religious_freedom/rus_e030523.htm.
it goes into the usual wt waffle about the persecution and harrassment of jws, religious freedom etc, but the following quote caught my eye:the study also revealed a much higher level of education among jehovah's witnesses (when compared with that of the average muscovite), which tends toward independent rational thinking and decision-making.
now, this would give joe public that the average jw is therefore able to think for himself, and reach his own conclusions independantly.
Ok, now compare that to this one.

just to bring you up to date, the watchtower got my wife to agree to ask the court to become the representative of bethany's estate.

bttt.
to all who have been following my lawsuit against the society here in canada, the judge is to make her decision this week.
it has been a long 8 months since the trial, but we are keeping our fingers crossed that she makes the right decision when it comes to protecting the children (and myself) from the wrongs of the society.
we have not heard yet if she needs more time, so friday is the end of her extension.
Hi there Vicki,
I have an eye on that too. The general public is more educated now, that's for sure. I just can't wait for the judge's decision and hope it is in your favor. My prayers and simpathy are with you.

many of you no doubt remember when the society released the book mankind's search for god.
i had always figured that, since there were questions printed at the bottom of each page, the book would be studied at the congregation book study.
till this day, it has not been studied, and in fact, besides a couple of placement campaigns, not much was ever really done with that book.
I know someone who was deconverted by his student using the very book he, as an instructor, was using to bring him to the "truth" convert him. And that book was... Mankind's Search for God.
That may explain a lot of things.

may you all have peace... and may you grant me to continue... just as my lord has granted me: .
paragraph 8 - "repent... and do the former deeds.
[i]f you do not, i am coming to you and i will remove your lampstand from its place.
He had no fear of helping, but felt PITY... to the point of using his own money to see that the man was cared for... and asking nothing in return. He did not preach to the man... he did not try to convert the man... he did not offer the man a Bible study. He simply bound the man's wounds... took him to an inn to be cared for... paid for such care... and stated that if more was needed, to see him for it. THAT... is "fine works."
How true...! This is simply beautiful!
By the way, AGuest, I enjoy your posts and your style too!
Keep them coming.

there appears to be "new light" in the latest watchtower magazine (june 1st 2003 issue).
several watchtower publications for the last 50+ years have said that the united nations (u.n.) organization ("the scarlet-colored wild beast" of revelation) would definitely be the organization that will carry out jehovah's judgment on "babylon the great" (false religion), and then, under satan's [gog of magog's] direction, the united nations organization would become "greedy", and try to attack the remaining remnant of the "anointed" jehovah's witnesses and their companions, the "great crowd" of "other sheep", and then jehovah and jesus would destroy the united nations organization, along with everyone else who was not a jehovah's witness.
here is a quote that shows this: .
I'd love to see the scans of this article... Anyone?

still in the memorial season and the usual puzzling question:
anointed or not anointed ??
just take a look at what, in mho, i do consider amazing ex.
Very good reasearch and post! Thanks for enlightening us.
One of the things that is typical of Watchtower bla-bla-bla is this "it seems", "it appears", "evidently", etc. The other thing that troubles me is that they can't even agree on that specific date. At one moment it was in 1935; in another moment it was in "mid-1930's"; in yet another it was in "1931-35". I presume that Jehovah would have informed them of the exact date, if any. If he didn't then what kind of "food" is that?
What a scam!
Thanks for sharing.

i noticed in one of the postings that a book by 'westcott and hort' is an aid to ascertaining original translation of scriptures.
can anyone advise where a copy can be viewed/obtained.
can anyone advise me of any available texts that are an aid to understanding the original bible translations.
Hi Minstrel,
this is not exactly a "book". The Watchtower publishes a translation of the Bible called The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures. What they did was they took the original Greek-to-English translation by B.F.Westcott and F.J.A.Hort (1881) and produced the above mentioned Bible containing the greek-to-english word-for-word in a left column and their own rendering on the right side column. This right side column contains the same text as found on their New World Translation.
The problem is that to get a hold of a copy of that interlinear Bible you have to either write to Betel (a personal visit will also do it ) or place an order through the congregation if you have someone from inside.
By the way, not very many JWs know of the existence of this Bible by the WTS. It is not widely publicized since studying directly from the greek-to-english text may be very damaging for the WTS doctrinal structure.

with all this going on over in iraq, and the watchtower society's fear of death tactics on the rank and file members, it reminds me of how much the watchtower publishing corporation leadership is using the same fear tactics of death to all who are not subserviant and loyal to it's fear inspiring religious regime.
while threatening the world with "mass distruction" by thier watchtower false god, and twisting christian doctrine to further their fear, and blame messages, and death to all others, they have the same perpetrating m.o.
as saddam, bin laden, and all other dictatorial figures.
i don't know if anyone else has posted this yet, but i must say, that the isaiah's prophecy books are the most boring drivel i have ever had to endure.
i don't know which member of the writing department or the gb wrote this 2 part set, but i have to say that it is super-duper-dull beyond words.
perhaps the author suffers from alzheimers and forgot that he wrote the same thing again and again and again... .
Hey, joe_from_kokomo,
I love your posts, man! Couldn't stop laughing. Keep it up!
